Tell me they aren’t the GOATS...you have no argument! Yes it is Mr. Plant playing, and sing through it in the introduction, thus the funky sound! They have their own sound! Their own genre! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One never knows what to expect from Led Zeppelin, eh? I do hope you react to their 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert version. It was excellent! In fact, that entire concert, which included songs from their first two albums (and a few not on any of their albums), was excellent. Yes, that was Plant on harmonica, although Page can play a mean harmonica as well. You can hear him play it on a song he released as a single in 1965 called, "Keep Moving". It's side B to side A's "She Just Satisfies". In fact, Page played all the instruments except the drums, and sings lead as well. A fun listen and can be found on YT.
Robert did an excellent job of sounding like, my favorite harmonica player, Sonny Boy Williamson. Check out Sonny Boy's version of this song written by the great Wille Dixon. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1YF1qYXiN0s.html
Yes, please watch it live from 1970 at Royal Albert Hall, you'll love it. Watch anything from that concert, it's amazing. I highly recommend watching it all!
Love your reaction. I think you mentioned in one of your reactions that you're partial to guitarists. I'd like to recommend a Led Zeppelin track that is not reacted to very often. It is not from an album released by the band, but from a very good bootleg of the Fillmore West gig on April 27, 1969. They had been together as a band for a little over 7 months and the last 4 months of that time they had been touring the US in support of their 1st album which was released in the US in Jan 1969. This is a fabulous performance and a great example of the improvisation they were known for - they are all amazing but Jimmy particularly so. There's a bit of Robert banter at the beginning and the number is about 20 minutes - standard for Led Zeppelin concerts. Did you hear the bass on this version, or was it just my headphones? That song has a bass line that mirrors part of what Page plays, but I didn't hear any bass at all.
