@@maartenlemmens8628Thank you! I had it wrong didn't I. ;) Plant was a HUGE Elvis fan and I believe he got it from Elvis' cover of the song, "Old Shep," which was one of Elvis' early hits. O'ops, my bad. ..."ain't no Old Shep gonna happen again."
Zeppelin were a staple of our high-school soundtrack. Lots of people only know "stairway to heaven" but that isn't even one of their best songs. They have so much more to offer.
Oh "Stairway to Heaven" is definitely one of their best especially for the unique progression throughout the song. Their music was so diverse, from straight blues to progressive rock. I'm sure everyone that listens to LZ has their faves. For me its always the song that is playing.
@@jonathancomer7069 Oh, it's a great song. I just think they did much better. Kashmir and Tea for One are two great examples. But yes, I always fall in love again with any LZ song I'm hearing.
My great Uncle used to live next door to Bron-Yr-Aur Cottage in mid Wales and remembers lead singer, Robert Plant, and his parents staying there in the 1960's.😢
Bron-Yr-Aur is an 18 century cottage located in south Snowdonia, Wales. The English translation in breast of gold or golden hill. I think Robert Plant went there as a small boy with his parents and again later with Jimmy Page in the early seventies. Many of the songs from their third & fourth albums were written there 🏴
you guys gotta do Led Zeppelin, Ten Years Gone, Or the Song Remains The Same! Or Stairway To Heaven the last two from the 1973 Madison Square Garden Live show
Led Zeppelin is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get. "yeah, I took that from Forest Gump, but it works for the great Zeppelin too. :)
@@ledzeppacker Possibly. I saw them in 75 at the Ritchfield Coliseum and the set list does not include this song. In 77 they did play it when I saw them at the Pontiac Silverdome. I'm sticking with 77. There is a video of it on RU-vid at MSG in 77.
If you really wish to hear why Led Zeppelin is considered to be THE greatest rock band of all time, please review Since I’ve Been Loving You, Live at MSG. You will LOVE it.
During that acoustic set, they performed two other songs, "Going to California" and "That's the Way", both also excellent and worth a listen. I enjoy them all because I enjoy watching the great Jimmy Page grooving on an acoustic guitar. lol Led Zeppelin can't really be pigeon-holed. Incredibly creative and versatile musicians, and just when a new listener thinks they've figured them out, they hear something seemingly out of left field. Led Zeppelin is certainly considered a hard rock band, but they pulled on so many other music genres that it's better to just say that they created a genre all their own. ;) Very much enjoying your Led Zeppelin reactions. Keep 'em rolling! :)
Such a great song about a dog. Great reaction. I have been a Ledhead going on 50 years and I have never seen this video. Thank you for introducing me to it. Keep digging into Zeppelin's vast acoustic guitar music collection.

Led Zeppelin ; Bron-Y-Aur Stomp... (Edit - Sorry for the two word post. My computer decided to restart.) So.... I would have recognized the voice but would have had trouble placing it. Love the song and yes it does sound like Blue Grass. BTW did you know that comedian Steve Martin is an excellent Banjo Player?.... Steve Martin & Earl Scruggs - Foggy Mountain Breakdown...
Awesome reaction! Could you please react to HammerFall and the song Brotherhood, Brotherhood is a thank you song to their fans and the bands kids are in the music video, they are from sweden(Just like Sabaton) but formed 1993, the singer is very good and has a clean voice
Well it's a good job I've educated them then isn't it,.The song is named after an 18th century cottage in Wales in the Uk and Bron y aur (the name of the cottage) means breast of gold in the Welsh language.
It's pronounced "brawny your stomp" 😂It's one of Led Zeppelin's many acoustic pieces that incorporated folk, rockabilly, country, etc. The song was names after the cottage Bron-Yr-Aur in Wales where Led Zeppelin recorded some of their iconic albums... It was a secluded farmhouse out in the British countryside where they could make a lot of noise without being disturbed. Despite being in the biggest rock band in the world, both Robert Plant and John Bonham bought farms in the English countryside where they settled w/ their families... According to Jason Bonham, when his late dad John Bonham was home... he would usually chill at the bar drinking w/ his farmer friends and talking about sheep and cattle... and would often work on the farm. John Bonham's vice (besides alcohol) were cars - he would spend his fortune on vintage cars... Car dealers & salesmen seeing him looking long-haired and casually dressed had no idea who John Bonham was or how much money he was worth 😂
Plant was more frugal with money, not buying all kinds of stuff. When home he milked his goats, & enjoyed simple life. They hated leaving their families, but loved preforming live, & always gave fans their all. Bron-Y-ar belonged to Plants father. I think pretty much it was Page & Plant went there. If I remember correctly, no heat or running water. The whole band stayed together wrote & recorded at Hadley Grange, which didn’t have heat.
@@sicotshit7068 Robert Plant was (and is) a hippie... They r not into blowing money on fancy cars or lavish mansions. He's doing the hippie music now that he was singing before he joined Led Zeppelin in 1968. Jimmy Page was the miser of the band... They'd call him 'led wallet' cos he wouldn't even spend money on a phone call if he had to pay the rates.
@@sumonjamal1653 Bonham also teased Plant about being a miser, they joked about it in an interview. Yes Plant was & is a hippie, that’s one reason I still love him. I recently found out, Bonham’s wife never remarried, & still lives in the same house. I also found out they married in 1966, I had known JPJ married in 1967, & Plant in 1968. JPJ & his wife are still married, Bonham & his wife were high school sweethearts, & married very young.
@@sicotshit7068 Jimmy Page was the player in Led Zeppelin and twice divorced ... Robert Plant was a player too (which is likely why he got divorced in the early 80's) and has never remarried. Plant had an affair and son w/ his ex-wife Maureen's sister years later... Plant married Maureen early and she supported him while he was a struggling singer in Birmingham before he joined Led Zeppelin... Plant's dad had apparently kicked him out of his home for his career choice ... John Paul Jones was already a successful musician in the 60's and married in 1967... and was never a ladies' man it seems. He always seemed to enjoy his privacy and disappear while on tour. And John Bonham married his girlfriend Pat after he got her pregnant while they were still teens in 1966... their son Jason Bonham was born that year ... John Bonham was reportedly not unfaithful to his wife, but he had a tendency to drink heavily and become violent on the road. It's sad because he had a stable family but was an unstable character when inebriated.
@@sumonjamal1653 I do know these things, though the loss of Plant & Maureen’s son likely contributed to their divorce, it often does. Plant dated Maureen’s sister before her, & again years after the divorce. I don’t think Plant was quite the player made out to be, I’m not saying an Angel, but not what is claimed either.
hahahah I l ove how Lulu cares more about their looks then saying omg! I love the song XD hahahahaha love that. listen to more of Led zeppelin you will be thrilled!
Nice reaction, keep em comin ladies! They were very talented and diverse, showing off their ability to play some country/bluegrass/barnyard square-dance "stomp" here! The song is a tribute to Robert's collie, Stryder, whom he loved a lot and decided to immortalize in this number!
Thank you very much for your reactions, and for this and other reactions to Led Zeppelin, please react to SCORPIONS and their great power ballad, STILL LOVING YOU, official video, and many more hits.
Strider Robert's dog named after the character in Lord of the Rings also known as Aragorn is the Blue eyed Merle...miniature collie. Love this song and it's worth listening to the studio version.
Hi from a cold Scotland, loving your reactions and thoughts. I would like to suggest for delectation the Stranglers with down in the sewer, love, light and peace Paul.
This is the name of their Welsh holiday cottage, some fans used to pilgrimage :) Can you imagine walking in the hills, then suddenly notice, some rock music coming from a distant cottage? "Acoustic" plucking. What is the style? Bluegrassy? Playing the Phone Book! Rumour has it, that Robert Plants shirts never fit well, because they belonged to his latest groupie conquest... (Don't tell Lulu)
And, yeah, a timeless rock group creating a song about the fun of spending time with your dog! Robert Plant even shouts out the name of his dog that was the inspiration for the song: “Strider”. 🙂
Lovely to see you THREE lovelies back in the hot seats for another reaction😊. And what a band to react to!! And Donna if Chad can still make you spill your coffee maybe I need to PM him for advice to see where I'm going wrong!!😅😅
When you take in all of Zeppelin's range, this song actually isn't so different for them. Because they did EVERYTHING. So many styles, and a whole lotta' acoustic pieces too.
Top 3 country song. And The Beatles’ Rocky Raccoon is too. (This is essentially experimental bluegrass and it’s insane musically) Beatles Zeppelin Floyd Talking Heads That’s my top 4 bands. Nuthinnn but bangers.
Heard an interview with Robert Plant and he pronounced it like us Americans would say Bron Hour Stomp. Either way it gets no better than the the better fab 4 Led Zeppelin
The studio version is awesome also. One of my fave songs of zep Roberts childhood memories of a country house his family had when he was a child. Aint no companion like a blue eyed meryl. All zep songs are different. Greatest band ever❤
Bron-Y-Aur is a Welsh word (I'm Welsh). The easiest way to pronounce it is Bron a^ Our* ^a flat 'a' as in cat, not gate. *try and roll this 'r' if you can. 😊
Led Zeppelin play all different genres Rock Blues Folk Reggae Prog, they weren’t one trick pony’s. One thing they weren’t is heavy metal, & they hated being called that. Whatever genre they played, it was done to perfection.
Love u ladies. This has Celtic roots, like many folks in the South. This is music from your neck of the woods, brought to the world via England. Heee haw !!❤
Cheers to Strider. And Cheers to my dogs Lola. Cindi Lou and Harlee. You all took me walking down a country lane singing a song and calling my name. Thank you to my beautiful beloved pets for being a part of my life ❤
