I always loved these guys. The music they put together is awesome. I lov ed the lyrics/music. As I got older I appreciated the music/band the chemistry . Jimmy you look so good.
Tried to say I appreciated the music more. The instruments in general. The magic, feeling. Robert Plant has an amazing voice. Loved him singing all their songs.
Jonesy brilliant, talented, and huge part of band's success. He's the quieter one, but a deep thinker. Did arranging and other complex things post Zeppelin. He is NOT boring.
Jimmy’s body language is fascinating. I feel like his mind is moving at an incredible speed, like this press conference is too slow and he is agitated by the inane, uninteresting questions.
@JU5TINPDX I agree, Jimmy rarely appears relaxed. Listening to his early interview's in his early teens, showed how intelligent he was. Very well spoken, and well mannered. Even here he waits for Robert or John to finish before speaking. His energy was endless in early shows, he owned the stage.
Awesome interview with three very intelligent wise men. Love Led Zeppelin, not just the music but also the people in the band. Just not sure why John Paul Jones isnt on camera enough ? Just made it feel like a band of 2 at some stages. Thanks Led Zeppelin for opening my mind to real music, Peace
Jerry Evans, there is no way they are 'the greatest band of all time'. Why do Led Zeppelin fans again and again try to assert this ? Why can't they just say they really like them ? Why do they have to be 'the greatest' ? It is just not true. There are many musicians of very high standing who don't rate them very highly.
I think I get Robert Plant's point. He'd rather know he's done great in the past and basically finished on a high note, rather than trying to come back and fail. I respect him for not milking it to death. Yeah they could tour off and on for the next 5-10 years playing all the great old tunes, but it seems like he would rather keep creatively expanding into new territory.
Yes they could re-tour but Jimmy & Plant would certainly put out new stuff as well. I'm sure there's a hell of a lot of lyrics stashed away from the past decades, alooooot
For the Fans who continue to ask a Led Zeppelin band member if they're going to tour, I am sure they all said No! Jimmy has said many times in Interview's, he would not be able to stand for Three hours. I am grateful that I saw them at an earlier age, Jimmy doesn't just play Guitar, he moves, bends backwards, dances while playing from one side to the other, and jumps in the air! 🎸 Enjoy the Videos!
@@julesrose7738 after this concert, Jones and page wanted to go on tour with Jason on drums. Plant was the one who said no. In fact they actually had plans to move on with the tour without him and had auditions for Plants replacement. Most notably Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. But in the end they decided they couldn’t do it without him.
Except.....half of Robert's tour shows are Zep content. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. He badmouths the concept of a Zep tour....then he tours playing a ton of Zep content.
@@tektoniks_architects The most recent tour with Alison Krauss they play 2, sometimes 3 Zepp songs a night....so yeah you're not even close. The set lists are online. I've seen them 3 times....phenomenal.
hahaha love when roberts "rambling on" at 13 min mark and jimmy looking at him like stfu lol then camera turns to john and he staring at robert then delivers that punchline haha love them all though GODS OF ROCK
I can guarantee this: If I'm still breathing and any one of these are no longer with us, I'll weep with their passing. Their records have given me tons of joy and pleasure. Jason represented his father brilliantly and John, Robert and Jimmy were spot on as usual. Great memories.
It is important to remember that age is more significant to Robert than it is to Jimmy and JPJ because he is the singer and frontman. To be that strutting, screaming golden god at his age isn't possible. Age takes the voice doen a few registers and sexuality isn't so pyrotechnic. It's much harder for him to revisit Led Zeppelin than it is for the others. He has to slip into a role whereas the others just play their instruments.
Ya but its not like he has to wear open up shirts as years past but I can't or have never heard from interviews a good answer to why Plant wouldn't re-tour. On his own, IMHO he never was all that good, ok but that was it.
@@phil.d333 his voice may not have been strong enough for a tour Singing about how he's gonna give you all his love at 60 years old when he originally screeched those lyrics out at 21 years old Robert plant is a different man now since karac and bonzos death
So glad they did this show. Their rendition of "No Quarter" at this concert was sublime, a landmark moment in rock, certainly the best version the ever did live that I have heard.
I've enjoyed growing older and staying young at heart with these guys - my favourite band for over 50 years. This concert was mindblowingly brilliant - I saw them live twice in Adelaide and Sydney! Lucky me!
I think it's great these 3 legends hold John's son Jason in such high regards most of us who ever picked up a set of sticks have led zeppelin influence someone where RIP JHB

so so smart of them to do 1 last concert to where they could give everything they had and have it DVD'd so everyone could in a sense be there and that would be the last impression that everybody would have of them. just a good thing it was perfect
I like how you put that, and it's so true of Jimmy. He's got a positive outlook & looks like he's ready to take on anything. What would possibly be the coolest of all is if we ever got some NEW music out of these guys before they're gone forever. But just seeing them all in the same room sitting next to each other is a thrill in itself, and unlike a lot of other older bands, they don't appear to hate each other (& I don't think they ever did).
Fantastic interview. They’re all very interesting people in their own right and they click so well. They’re all very, very British, but JPJ and his humour really sums it up.
Such a perfect representation of JPJ oversight. Opening shot is focused on Page and Plant entirely then when the first question is asked it pans over and oh, look who else is here.
people are saying Jimmy looks high, he's nervous guys. There was a lot of pressure built up in this interview and performance considering it was going to be there last one. I think he just wanted it to go well so badly some of the nervous ticks came out.
Not that Jimmy is there today but its known he was years ago, constant touching the nose could be related to being on junk or any opiate for that matter. Smayyybe
Page has aged soooooo much better than Robert. Wow and Page is actually 2 years older. Good genetics I guess. I could swear Page has some amount of Asian ancestry.
Its amazing how great Zepps are yet they grew old gracefully. Their appearances are muted down like anybody uncles, dads or grandads...so amazing they are! Plant kept his locks but his outfits are no longer funky and Page just donned mostly in black & white. Gone were the days of flamboyant outfits. While JPJ looked like a retired senior executive....just superb!!
Love Robert Plant but.. you really need to read between the lines as far as some answers to the questions he was asked. When he doesn't want to answer, give gives that long winded response that says nothing. Very clever☺
It's great to see these 3 living legends together again, but as quoted below the reporters might as well have asked what colour socks they were all wearing. You'd think that for one of the most influential rock bands ever, someone would have come up with some credible questions, I can understand why they have always been wary of the press. And, I take exception to anyone accusing Jimmy of still drugtaking. He's just a nervous, humble but also very gentle man, I met him in 2005, he is who he is.
Why would you take offense to one assuming Jimmy maybe still chipping away with the Junk or some opiate. At his age its not considered drug-taking, its grooving. He can have the cleanest of China White. Anyway not that he's wired but he still has his senses and he certainly seems to have the vocabulary. a Creative Genius.
Certainly we are all entitled to our opinions and i am a diehard fan and still found that there is valuable insight to be gleaned from this interview, and so it goes my friend.
haha Rob raising his eyebrows at JPJ when he mentions that Good Times Bad Times riff is difficult as if he's going "you fucking liar, you can play anything"
Getting to you 3 years later. I agree it was a great concert, but I found the edits too rapid-fire quick, from one to the other, to the point of distraction. A friend I saw it with in the theater, felt the same way. That was our only complaint. --Assuming all the separate camera footage still exists, I think an alternate, re-edited version should done, with about 1/3 fewer edits. --Whatever.
I just noticed if u want to get Jimmy to talk just ask a musically technological questions and the others just turn to him and he enjoys explaining his trade... serious
You can tell Jimmy gets annoyed whenever Plant starts giving one of his long-winded answers about “not looking back.” He has this look that says “Oh get on with it Robert.”
you watch Robert's interviews since the 90's, he fusses a lot over growin old.. Good humor, yes, but he's thinking about it. Robert, Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter! I like Jimmy in this one out of the three (he is always super cool!!!) 'cos he seems so positive competitively, like he is still in the game, defending LZ in a way of being ready to look forward with it.. Like its all just a long instrumental section we are in and the Riff is yet to come!
I love playing bass. Listening to led zeppelin, wishbone ash, and the Beatles , interested me to the instrument. Yes, I know the guitar player, drummer and lead vocalist got the recognition, but I didn't care. It's a powerful instrument it keeps everyone together.
IMHO, I believe this show (assuming you bought the box set of the gig), should be their last. A lot of people want to see them "one more time", or what have you. But, the O2 gig is SO damn good, why not just let it go at that. It's been a long time since that gig, especially for guys their age. Robert was full of life in that concert. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. But they did it right with recording the 02 as well as they did, to be their last gig. It is a masterpiece, and they were (of course Jason included) all in the zone with their performance's.
I can understand why people are upset about not seeing enough of JP Jones because he is part of the band. But, he does not contribute much to the conversation. I will say, yet again, Robert does more of the talking. But, Jimmy has improved quite a lot, good on you! And, I'm pretty impressed how Robert and especially Jimmy have held up. Jimmy Page has an exotic look to him that is quite interesting. I think it also give him a leg-up in the aging process.
How about Jason he not even on the stage yeah they cut out John I could understand Jason...these questions are retrospect all leading up to late breaking news question the guys are waiting for are u gonna put the band back together... hahaha really like plant says at the end if one album...this is much better interview....more well constructed...u see how they muscians get frustrated....15 respected news outlets and they all ask the same questions....quite frankly I think these guys have done it enuf they just go with the flow and do their best happy too to have some spot light time... dignified chaps they are... thanks for the post great job in the interview process....an production of it
Funny now how they ate grasping the Reality of how much power and energy they poured into their music...I know Jimmy has forgotten...but the others are like Robert especially
People going on about Led Zep doing a Tour ? They haven’t toured as Led Zep playing that fast pace of music for nearly 50 years ( It’s 2023 ) . I think they would struggle with the pace of Led Zep music from BITD . Robert Plant still tours but he performs at a much slower pace . I think it was a nice piece of nostalgia at the 02 in 2006 . But it’s 2023 now & they couldn’t handle the pace of a full on Led Zep tour . Page was saying there was a after party the night of The film Premier ,(2012)but non of them went , that was back then a while back .
Yes I really think now after all these years....when ever I have done a zepplin cover or heard a Zeppelin cover or a cover band....u can go watch how much a master of music ,sound and recording Jimmy Page is an was...now let's talk about his playing...no one could do his guitar playing like he did...he specially got the sound excactly how he wanted it I mean having the reverb echo and all excactly how u want it and or remembering how it was the engineer mite help but Jimmy was all and the greatest player to ....stop on that note ....and he wrote an created the music in a unique style...mastery....of....I can't remember hearing a cover band really nail Jimmy's guitar... except for stairway....and that's a slow song and fairly easier to do on guitar some of why it got so over played....a great song....I don't like it personally it's too slow... hahaha hahaha really
Jimmy looks great for his age and what he has put his body through. Robert looks haggard although he was the healthier one back in the day. Just an observation
Losing his best friend and particularly his son, began aging him years ago. Genetics too. He looks better in 2022 at 73, than he did in 2012. I think he's very handsome and find comments such as yours unfortunate.
THE BEST BAND MUSIC HAS EVER SEEN STILL. LOOKING GOOD ALL AGED LIKE CFINE JACK DANIEL'S GET IT😂😂 NOW KIDS HAVE JUSTIN BIEBER SELENA GOMEZ LIZZO BEYONCÉ KANYE WEST JONAS BROTHERS AND SO MANY MORE NO INSTRUMENTS AUTO TUNE COMPUTER GENERATED MUSIC 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I CAN’T 😂😂😂😂😂 I PRAY FOR THIS GENERATION ✊🏾
Led Zeppelin....what was it? The biggest, most successful rock band ever. They were three musicians, John Paul Jones, dedicated musician on bass guitar, keyboards and production. Jimmy Page, legendary session guitarist, mystic and real Star. Then John Bonham, I believe he did what he did and left the planet so that Jason could have his drumstool with Zeppelin. So....what was the spark that took Led Zeppelin into the Stratosphere? Two words ROBERT PLANT.
