Their very first song. The first time anyone had ever heard them. You have no idea how revolutionary they were back then. They began it all. I was too young back in ‘69. Only 9. But, many years later, I was so into this band. I saw them in concert twice. No words to describe it. I wish you had played the original video. The Robert Plant in that is sooo captivating. In this version, he’s much older. He’s not wearing those bell bottoms that leave nothing to the imagination. He was a sex god back then. OMG
On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin took the stage at London's O2 arena to headline a tribute concert for their good friend and Atlantic founder, Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was over two hours of blues-soaked rock'n'roll - a tour de force that immediately became part of the Led Zeppelin legend. The founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were supported by the son of the late drummer John Bonham(who died 1980), Jason Bonham. They performed 16 songs from their acclaimed repertoire, including some milestones like Whole Lotta Love, Rock And Roll, Kashmir and Stairway To Heaven. It was their first concert together after they split up 27 years ago. This song was the start and it's short that was the warm-up song, so to speak. maybe listen to the whole concert, i think you'll like it a lot, greetings from germany
I was lucky enough to be at that concert. This was the first song followed without a break by Ramble On and Black Dog. I also saw them in 1973 in the UK and it is astonishing that they were so good 35 years later. The best band ever. No-one else in the box that I was in had ever seen them before and I was amused to hear one guy in his twenties say, after the first 3 songs, that he had just come to the concert of the century. Such a great band.
@@rebekaluizebudlevskamusic if you are interested here is a link to "in My Time of dying " at Earl's Court 😎 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QuABqrvhLf0.html
jason wasnt a new drummer he had been playing along with his dad for years even to the point of jason playing while bonzo went out into the venue to sound check {:-) PAV uk
Check out Over the Hills and Far Away by them. They stopped playing this probably because they came out with so much great material that they just couldn’t play it all. By 1970 they were 3 fulls albums in.
Actually they stopped performing in 1980 when the drummer, John Bonham, tragically passed away. They pretty much owned the whole decade of the '70's. One of my favorite Zep songs is "How Many More Times" from their first album. It doesn't really matter, though, every song is its own masterpiece.
We're so used to seeing the big bands from the 60s/70s coming out with lots of extra musicians, dancers, backing singers etc. OK this was a one-off show, but the mighty Zeppelin prove that if you're that good you don't need anyone else!
Good Rebeka....dig in it. I can see you love drumming.. great, go for it baby. Jason Bonham, here, driving force for the song as did his papa... the one and only John Henry Bonham. (RIP 1980).
Another vote here for 10 Years Gone - studio version is awesome. Its wonderful to see a new generation enjoying Zeppelin so much - your reviews are great and show genuine appreciation for the music.
Yup. It's their best song. You'd be hard pressed to find a live version and it won't do the song justice. There are like 12 guitar tracks on that song. As you've noticed, and Page has commented, Led Zeppelin was a guitar centered band, unlike the Beatles who were centered on vocal arrangements.
The live 1973 version of The Song Remains the Same/The Rain Song is nice and long. And incredible song writing. The opening still gives me goosebumps when the lights go red.
I was looking for Zeppelin, and I found Rebeka. Rebeka is exquisitely beautiful. Isn’t she? Zeppelin can fill Heaven with dulcet strains. Rebeka can fill Heaven with her flawless beauty. She prefers longer compositions. May I suggest: 1.) No Quarter - The live version from The Song Remains the Same has an astounding guitar solo with a classical guitar sensibility. 2.) Kashmir - of course 3.) Ten Years Gone - many a person’s favorite Zep ballad 4.) How Many More Times - The Danmarks TV live version is simply astounding
The best version of no quarter was one they did during their aborted physical graffiti tour. I don't know if it has any video, but it has an unbelievable John Paul Jones piano solo.
Chuck Berry was a big influence on a lot of these guys. He was from here in St. Louis and there is a statue of him across the street from Blueberry Hill, a local hangout where he often played late in his life. My sister's friend got in a car accident with him years ago. He gave her a wad of cash to cover the damage, then went about his merry way with his "girlfriend" who was with him.😄
I like a lot of bands but I luv u2&led zep but most of all EP he's the man that caused all this to happen ,loving your blue eyed reactions this music you love suits your personality hope u never loose it,all the best here from Down Under.
Jimmy Page, founder of Led Zeppelin, said in a recent interview that the band has reached its peak. Everything was conquered and that therefore there would be no point in continuing, since the goal was done.
Just good times... when I see you so happy Rebeka, listening to 70's music. Yesterday I played Deep Purple "Stormbringer" on my channel (recorded with my poor cellphone 😢). Keep on rockin' ! 🎼🎸
I am happy that you reacted to this. I was lucky enough to attend this concert. So my reaction to this was singing along and kissing my friend who I went with. She loved this concert so much. I would suggest, In my time of dying from this concert.
Not sure what your asking? Why they stopped playing? This song you just watched was from their reunion concert in 2007 I think. They are all around 60 years old here. But the song was released in 1969 on their first album. They broke up in 1980 when the drummer died after drinking 40 shots of vodka and throwing up and suffocating on his vomit. He was only 32 at the time. Thats rock and roll for you. The drummer's son is the drummer in this video and the entire 2007 concert and a few other random events they played together over the years. He is also the drummer in an excellent tribute performance by Heart from around 2011. I highly recommend you watching that.
You really must review KASHMIR from the Celebration Day at the 02 in 2007. This version is insatiable, thunderously dynamic. You will not be disappointed.. TRUST ME!
Love that hair cut on you. It really accentuates your beautiful blue eyes. I don't think Plant wrote these lyrics, he doesn't appear in the song credits. His song writing contributions really begin on the 2nd album.
The reason they did not play it after 1970 might be due to the fact they started having a lot of songs to play and some were long as you know. This is just a guess on my part. Next, I would suggest (and sorry if you already reacted) to react to Ten Years Gone.
Their first song. Threw The Beatles off the top of the charts. From then on, Zepplin ruled. OMG. John Bonham’s drums. This was the beginning of true rock. I think they’re more revolutionary than The Beatles could ever be. And Robert Plant. Please, those jeans that show it all. I’m 61 and saw them in concert twice in their early days. So, one good thing about being older. Plant’s still around. Doing collaborative stuff. Has been for decades. I wish you’d done the original!!!!
If you want longer songs.just listen to dazed and confused Whole lotta love The song remains the same/the rain song No Quarter The ocean from the film/soundtrack the song remains the same Also you might like these Over the hills and far away. In my time of dying You shock me. I can't quit you Achilles last stand Nobody fault but mine. Hey get what can I do..just a few songs that you might like
I not only loved this song but the whole Album when it was 1st released, They did a great job on this "Celebration Day vid" one too, even after all these years :) Best Blues Rock band ever imo. Thx Rebeka, great pick :)
Rebeka the Chameleon, always looking good. As many have said within the Comments. It is time for you to react to one of the most loved song by many a Led Zeppelin fan. Ten Years Gone please do the the Album version (1975 Physical Graffiti album) first... Before you possibly do the live version from Knebworth 1979
Another great reaction from the greatest rock band to ever grace this planet... You are definitely going down a rabbit hole when it comes to Led Zeppelin. So many great songs to choose from... I would recommend The Ocean or When the Levee Breaks... Or the entire LP of Physical Graffiti..... Like I said, so many great songs to choose from... I'm sure you will pick a great song to react to.. You won't disappoint us....
John Bonham's son Jason is on drums in this performance. Bonham's death is the reason they basically quit as a band. This was a special performance to honor a late record producer. Thanks and take care out there.
This one was only 2 minutes and 43 seconds on the album. It's been 52 years since it came out. Umm as for more songs to react to "The Ocean", "Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid" make sure your do the two together as that's how they were on the record, "When the Levee Breaks" to start.
When drummer, John Henry Bohnam, died the group decided to to end it. To find another drummer like Bohnam would be nearly impossible but they could never replace their dear friend!❤
Always love ur reacions. Honest and real. Heres a few suggestions. "No Quarter" live msg 1973. "In my time of dying" 1975 earls court. "Ten years gone" and "Tea for two" there really are no bad zep songs only timeless masterpieces
Try " Dazed and Confused" live video, from London in 1969. Or " Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" . Or " Black Dog" live video from 1973. Stay safe and beautiful.
Hi Rebeka, great reaction. LZ had 8 regular albums that included 73 songs. Most are hard pressed to find a bad song among the 73 songs. So they had so much to choose from in their live concerts. I think you would enjoy No Quarter from the MSG concert
Try any of their live songs from the 'The Song Remains the Same' concert and movie footage. Especially Stairway to Heaven. They seemed to be at their peak, then.
I wish I could get you back to 1974 Deep Purple London (4:00 stripey shirt, that's me), then give you tickets to all the big concerts between then and 1994 Pulse. No, I wouldn't even offer to take you, that's not the point. You needed to be there with whomever. #1Fanboy 🤍🤍🤍
I've gotta million songs you've probably not heard but I'll be random and Suggest "everybody's everything " off of the santana 111 album . This one will electrify you and all of your harmones , just sayin
