You know a band is epic when you don’t just notice the lead singer but the power and intricacies of every instrument. Zeppelin are forever number one !!
In the Evening When the day is done I looking for a woman But the girl don't come So don't let her Play you for a fool She don't show no pity baby She don't make no rules Oh, I need your love I need your love Oh, I need your love I just got to Have ......
Maybe but the lead singer is never the only thing I notice. Maybe like Limp Bizquick I could only tell you the singer. Otherwise if I'm interested in music why would I only think of the geezer in front holding the mic?
@@worstknightmayor4439 I know Achilles Last Stand, Page overdubbed about 12 guitars, yet it sounded amazing live. I also know Four Sticks was only played live once, sadly no visual.
@@tenbroeck1958 Seriously? You two have got to be kidding!!!!!!! How about asking any of those bands who their influences were!!! Learn your history!!!
Oh, in the evening was very special to me circa 1989/90...used to listen a lot in my youth, From 87-93...l used to listen Zepp relentlessly... my hobby was to purchase/hunt their bootlegs...back then l called them pirate vinyl lol... No matter what, l always come back to zeppelin. Jimmy is my favorite guitar god. No matter what others says. Sloppy or wasted! To me Page did more awesome magic then any other “perfect” guitar player Only Hendrix and Beck are on a same or dimension.
This was the first time most of the audience would have heard this song. Some may have heard it at the previous show a week earlier, but most wouldn't have and the album wouldn't be released for another 4 days. This was my first hearing of In The Evening because I was there.
Led Zeppelin even at the end of their careers were better than 99% of the bands in their entire careers. Led Zeppelin is the definition of the word = LEGENDS
@@charliehustle1540 Page and Bonzo were fighting their addictions, Plant couldn't recover from the lost of his son and his vocals were a mere shadow of what they used to be. Only JPJ was normal and he carried Zep through their final album
Raw power and precision, like a runaway train careening down the tracks. Plant, like an uncaged lion in heat, belting out the vocals like a bluesman on steroids. Page, putting on a masterclass on Strat tone and the tremolo arm. Zep wasn't just the best band of the 70's, that's an understatement. They were in a class of their own, rock royalty, and no one else came close!
Plant's guttural voice is all the more amazing when you consider the range of his wailing falsetto! Such a rare and unique talent. Then you happen to add genius on bass, once-in-a-generation-lead-guitar in Page and the ultimate rock rhythm foundation in Bonzo, you have the greatest pure rock band of all times.
Led Zeppelin their music 🎶 🎵 is most definitely original, there is no one like them 🎉🎉. They are totally unique and they have a style and sound that's just timeless and classic 🎉🎉
this is one of those videos that clarifies why everyone thinks Bonham is the best rock drummer ever. He makes this track more than what it would be with any one else. He is terribly missed
Amazing, no backing tracks, background vocals, auto tune, canned music, loops, backing drum machine, lip synching, or background singers. Just three amazing musicians, each sounding like two people each on their instruments. Then there is Plant's voice, whether crooning or screaming it out, perhaps the best "instrument" in all of history. Saw them 3 times in the 70s, no matter how old and dotard I become, those fantastic shows will always live in my best part of my memories.
Robert Plant has the most underrated voice vocals PERIOD! When he puts all his might into that microphone, it's out of this world. Just absolutely phenomenal!
@@agnostic47 Page was often looking for new ways to get what he wanted from a guitar. Having out of phase switches installed on his Les Paul for one thing, alternate tunings and even playing cheap guitars (Danelectro) and sometimes cheap (Supro, at the time) or unusual (Rickenbacker Transonic) amps.
There will never be another group of musicians who when they came together, exploded on to the world like Led Zeppelin. The quintessential band there ever was or will be.☘
Mesmerizing opens double base improv to open this song. Now perhaps we can see how important the times is by the percussionist for the rest to fall into perfect place Zep died because of this. No one could ever replace John, ever. RIP
@@dociebiemowie915 Keith Moon played like an epileptic monkey, with no sense of dynamics, or technique that would even come close to the beast that was Bonzo. That's fact..
Bonham and JPJ were the heaviest rhythm section ever heard. The sheer power drove the music as Jimmy danced around painting lush landscapes and Robert’s vocals soared like a lone eagle on the hunt.
Some will argue it's Pink Floyd, or Deep Purple, or Metallica, or even Aerosmith. One thing is for sure and that is Bonzo is the greatest hard rock drummer that ever lived.
@@dociebiemowie915 Looka t them physically. Bonzo - 6 feet tall 225 lbs. Heaviest hitting drummer most people think so. Keith Moon - like Lars Ulrich. LMAO
Hi. I had a small music shop in Turkey . I used to sell music cassettes, albums. I'm 57 now. I have been listening Led Zeppelin over 40 years with the same exact joy. I even had a chance to small chit chat with them that showed me how amazingly humble they were. They were the most important famous people I met in my life. They were so normal, sincere and gentlemen. No complimants or anything. We talked for about 20-25 minutes and drank tea with Robert. After the concert was finished I tried to learn where do they would stay in.Next day I''ve found and waited by the hotel. When Robert went out I kissed him and hugged him. He Asked me about the previous day's concert performance.I said time passed so fast like a dream. I said I came about 1000 km from my town Adana to İstanbul for the concert he said please drive carrefully. I took LZ 3 LP (which I've bought and brought back to that concert) in İtaly when I was 21 y.o. in 1983 and they signed the album LZ 3 Long Play. I even had a chance to small chit chat with them that showed me how amazingly humble they were. I was waiting for Jimmy, he was crouching and shopping at a peddler who sold cheap imitation watches near the hotel street. I talked to him for 5-6 minutes. He was also gentleman, sincere like a normal person. I loved them more because they are the most important band of history (according to me) and so normal people like a teacher or friends. I am hoping that I don't die before them and they keep playing their amazing music. Lucky me. I've also met Michael Lee. RİP Michael.Lee and Bonzo. You're the greatest drummers of all. At the concert it was forbidden taking photos.Security took the film from my camera. But I've hidden another film in my socks. So I've taken many photos:) There were somebody who recorded the all the sound of the concert his hands in the air all night long. After 30 years I've found him in internet. He'll give me the recordings of the concert and I'll give him the night's photos. Life is beautiful with Led Zeppelin. İsn't it? eminelektronikadana
what a moving way to share this encounter, you must be as gentle as they are. I read your story listening to this incredible masterpiece and you added pleasure to my pleasure, thank you Sir.
I remember hanging out with my my buddies and asking 'hey do we like this album now?' What a relief because the answer was affirmative across the board.
as musicians LZ are way better! however, RS got their own gimmicks and their music is great too. although as professionals they can't hold a candle to LZ.
The sounds they could create live with 70’s technology is simply amazing. It shows you how great they were live and as a collective group. Simply the best
Bonzo was really doing extraordinary things at this point in his career and coming onto something even more incredible. Not to say he wasn't before, but my God he's magnificent here.
This will always be my favorite song by Zep. It reminds me of the summer after graduation partying with my friends. My brothers. Many gone now. Great times and great memories. Thank you Zep.
That first chunky note Page plays at the beginning of the solo is the best...it's like you're entering into his dimension, his little world...welcome and prepare to have your face melted.
On the Montrose Jump on it album/tour Jim Alcivar handled most of the bass line on his keyboard/pedals with a little help from former band mate Randy Jo Hobbs
Yeah it's jpj playing bass with bass foot pedals.ive heard comments on various zeppelin live videos that it's 2 guitars or while jpj is playing piano or organ someone else is playing bass!!!!! No you dumb fucks.its just the 4 of them all the time.you know why.because they where master's of there trade the best there ever was or ever will be period and when bonzo passed they knew it was over for respect for there friend and band mate and they knew he couldn't be replaced .
They strode the planet like musical monsters. All four of them individually & collectively. No one comes anywhere near them. Headed by the best manager ever Peter Grant.
My father bought me in through the out door when i was ? 14,was only albu. I owned i played it over and over .loved it thn. This live version is great. Dad passed in April. Tribute. R i p .c.j.s!!
Plant was so good on stage...his presence... thanks to u tube...an Internet....he moves and acts like he sounds on radio what an awesome front man...the ultimate going way back...coolest part is they really sound like that live not a lot of over dubbing... Jimmy had the sound dialed in... always upgrading...he was a Master...
I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN LED ZEP LIVE. I JUST MISSED THEM. THE CLOSEST I CAME TO SEEING THEM WAS , SEEING THE FIRM 2 X LIVE WITH JIMMY PAGE. AND SEEN JASON BONHAM , THE MASTERS SON.

Well he made up for it when he was off his head....if you don't play you might not know he was a very sloppy and messy player sometimes...still a legend none the same.
It doesn't seem like he was playing on the beat as much as the beat was keeping up with him tbh. He's always played loose (or 'sloppy' as purists would call it) but here, at times, it seems Bonham and Jones have to reel him in.
People think zeppelin was past there prime nonsense in the evening great live performance they were just gearing up here ready to to expand zeppelin and become the best band in the universe again the music 🎶 us zeppelin fans were cheated out off because of the tragedy of John Bonham's death Zeppelin was getting better expanding so much great music ahead of them a shame but thank God we have these old videos to realize how truly great they were and would have gotten better
pretty sure his 'real talent' has been shinning since he fist picked up a guitar, SMFH. He was the top Sessions player way before he founded, started Led Zeppelin
