The spirit of Zep is alive in people who don't give a shit about Zep...Led Zeppelin did what they wanted, played the music they all liked to play and really played what they played because of the force of their own musical personalities. They stole from the best soul, blues, folk, and early rock among many other musical genres...but their impact comes down to what they created from their own chemistry as a band. Three cheers to Zep haters...
Yes! Jason is now endorsed by Ludwig drums, the same as his father. Judging by the news footage currently surfacing about Jason is probably using the Ludwig reissue "Zep Set" or maybe got out his father's original Ludwig Amber Vista-Lite drums. In fact Ludwig released the John Bonham reissue "Zep Set" Amber Vista-Lite Drumkit about 3 years ago. You know what's spooky? I got the reissue "Zep Set" exactly 1 year ago today!!
It's as close to Zeppelin as any of the millions of younger fans who weren't born when they were last around are ever gonna get, so give them a break. Let people experience it! It's music.

I heard about this band having a reunion. On NPR they said their performance was very very good. They are getting up there in age. And, Jason, the drummer, they said put on a show. Gramps
That 'guy' was Phil Lewis who used to be the editor of one of the big rock magazines in London back in the day. RAW I think it was. He also presented a few TV rock shows when it was fshinable around 1989-93 Metal Hammer Headbangers ball etc.. nice guy and know a lot about music, obviously 8-)
Apparently page was masterful tonight and although Plant has mic trouble for the first 3 songs a lot of the reviews are very complimentary. Hope they go on a tour.
Yes , I thought he looked just fine. The only time I saw them was 1973 at Madison Square Garden. An unforgetable experience. I was a cool 17 years old.
Hmm, seems like some Zep-heads here giving the thumbs down to anyone who isn't a fan. Let people have an opinion, mmm-kay? ;) I think Zep is an extremely talented, influential, and creative band, but not the greatest of all time. Comparing them to the Beatles, and even the Stones to some extent, is meaningless; apples and oranges. Still, they're a great band and I'm happy that they're back together and sounding good. If they come touring around here I'll try my damndest to get tickets!
Zeppelin can be played on todays rock stations and classic rock stations!!!Beatles sound like old pop rock!!!Zep sounds great today!Beatles sound like tinny shit!!!!!!!Beatles are like a BOY-BAND!!!!
OOOO... MMMMM... GGGGG... WOOOW! i woulda actually gone there if i ever knew about this! these guys are seriusly the kings of rock, even though i only knew about them around a year ago, but the first moment i heard them, i instantly thought there music is great. HARD ROCK FOR EVER!
@DanMcCaffrey Robert plant changed the name to "Jimmy page robert plant and johnpaul jones, because he said "Led zeppelin, isn't led zeppelin without john bonham.
Yeah. The Beatles actually wrote their songs and didnt steal them from blues artist they "worshipped" so much. I WAS a BIG Zeppelin fan for over 35 years, but after all this, I put them in the same catagory as The Monkees!!!
in the 70's I lived in Jersey, close enough for me & all of my friends to jump in a car (usually a '69 Camaro ;)) & drive to Philly or NY to get tickets. Every single time they were sold out. We had money but we COULD NOT buy them. We all thought someone in Ticketron was buying them up for their friends.
Johnnycon, you can't possibly know what you're talking about! There will NEVER be another Led Zeppelin, except the REAL Led Zeppelin (Including both drummers, John Bonham AND Jason Bonham). LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN!!!!
The only things Led Zeppelin has in common with dinosaurs is the fact that John Bonham actually used the femur bones of Tyranasaurus' rather than drumsticks
I pray that a full on reunion tour happens. My wife made me shell out $500 for 2 tickets for The Police reunion (and well worth it too), so hopefully I'll get my turn. I'd happily shell out $1,000 for two tickets for Led Zeppelin.
I read your wording in a different context, but I see what you mean. So did you know Page and Plant's ages off the top of your head or did you Google that info? If the former, then that's pretty impressive for someone who doesn't even like Led Zeppelin.
that mojo magazine editor cant come out with a comment like that sayin that the beatles cant touch em.if lennon was alive and the beatles did a tour it would be crazy.but ya dont know do ya?
I dunno, Bonham's kid is pretty damn talented. I think he takes up the reigns very nicely, thank you very much. He isn't John B, but you could make a good argument for him being just as talented.
for example. eddie van halens great right? yet hear what david lee roth says: "Speaking of "Panama", David Lee Roth said on his radio program that Van Halen would listen to old records and copy the chord progressions. Dave then played an old AC/DC song back to back with Panama. Harmonically they were the same! Dave's highly musically educated guitarist, Brian Young, was blown away. Brian even commented on the solos being exactly the same harmonically."
The first guy who commented the concert is totally wrong,he might be huge fan of zeppelin, but there can even be a discution that Beatles is the best Band commercialy, historicly or creativly of all the times. They are the only band who sold 1 billion albums world wide...I agree that Zepplin is really good, but it's not near a Beatles...
I wished Led Zeppelin had a reunion at the U.S I would love to go to that the reason why I said that because I'm from America I would love to go to London to go see them in there reunio show but I have a big fear of flying
i'm after reading that robert plant might be thinking of reuniteing with zeppelin just goin to talk first then see how it goes, well i hope it's true and make a greatest hits album with new material and do world tour, they will sell out all over and make a fortune, please god it will happen i'm already there!
I agree as well, Zepp is huge and great but no one will top the Beatles ever. And honestly if Pink Floyd ever reunited for a tour that would be even bigger and better. All of Floyd is still alive and unfortunatley a real Zepp reunion will never happen as long as Bonzo is dead.
robb79... You can hardly call playing a few songs on a rooftop in the middle of winter a concert. They stopped touring, yes, TOURING in 1966. Its a fact, and its well documented. Now get to bed, you have school in the morning little man.
I sort of disagree with the guy that says Zep would not compare to a Beatles show. IF the Beatles could tour again, it would be only after Elvis touring. (Mabey) And as for the Stones, the boys never seemed to stop, so if they had ever stopped playing, it would be close. People may disagree with me, but these are my personal opinions.
