Even after a hundred years people consider this to be the greatest rock music ever created on Earth... who's listening in 2072? God I wish I was born 98 years ago

No other drummer or drumset sounded anywhere near this in 1970. Just an all out onslaught of thunder and dynamics.

@Ed yes possibly but Jimmys tone was just so powerful. Love The Who also. As matter of fact their 9-11 concert for heroes performance ..without Keith and late in career ..was one of if not the best and most powerful performance I have ever witnessed. Cheers

It’s the opening and they’re like “Warmups? We don’t need no stinkin’ warmups”! Just flick the butt a d launch! Page is a beast, Bonhams inhuman, Jones defines steady and damn was Plant good prior to losing his voice . Young Zep is so RAW and POWERFUL

Plant in his vocal prime is just earth shattering goodness. I prefer this show in its entirety to MSG ‘73. Page was better in MSG but the band as a whole was firing on all cylinders here. I also preferred Page’s tone on this concert, i think this is before he switched to Marshall plexi amps.

It seems like I'm on a downer here, but Jimmy and the band widely prove their inheritance. This is a solid statement both in talent and in rock and a valid and powerful conversion of the blues and soul to a white rock interpretation.

Thank you for another number from this concert. Royal Albert Hall is my favorite film footage of LZ. This was a big deal concert for LZ. It was the first night of the UK tour in 1970 after their phenomenal success in the US in 1969. Jimmy Page had said they were all nervous because important musical folk were rumored to be in the audience John Lennon (Beatles) Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck (both who played in the Yardbirds - band that Jimmy was in prior to LZ), among others. Too bad in this clip the guitar track is a little buried in the mix. These were the FIRST 2 Numbers in the concert. Nothing better than Jimmy Page wailing the blues on his birthday (January 9th.)!!!!! They played for 2+ hrs this night so after these 2 numbers there were 7 more songs (including Dazed and Confused that you've already done) all of them extended AND MULTIPLE Encores. Here's a link to one of the encores FUN! FUN! FUN! Eddie Cochran medley (50/60's Rock n Roll great); and Bring it on Home from LZ II ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tDxPNtYWt34.html

Whole heartedly agree. I prefer this concert to MSG. I’ve never understood why RAH isn’t given more treatment and attention like MSG. The band was firing on all cylinders here.

With Jimmy's next girl (the woman who would bear him his first child) backstage, here's the Zep returning to the ancestral home. It's rock rather than blues and funk. This is a common error. I don't know how it sounds outside the UK, but I can detect how clipped and British the whole thing is. There's almost a flag-waving belligerence about it. This is neither good nor bad, but it's an adaptation of an American sound.

Hey I've notice something with ya recordings the treble is low as fuck Jimmy might as well not be there on our end I've heard these exact recording's before and not the same on your channel the bass drowns out the lead guitar
@alexfletcher5192

All ideas of respect should be balanced against the fact that - at the end of the day and in context - the Zeppelin were still a 'pop group'; albeit an underground one. An older audience would not have accepted equivalence with jazz or classical music at this stage.

That were probably the first two songs. Although I think the water got mixed up not mixed up, Jimmy page remastered this concert and put some of the songs in different orders. You need to listen to the rest of the show it is astounding the greatest live show ever right there.
