i feed the hopper screws thru the riser wings first, then into the base. its easy to turn them right side in and you dont have to worry about one dropping
Thanks for this video. I have a question about the reloading process for 223. I have a 5 station press I use for 45acp. I want to use this press for 223, but I am having an issue with one part of the reloading process for 223. You need to resize the case before you trim, which defeats the purpose of using a progressive press because you have to stop indexing the press to remove the case once its deprimed and resized in station 1. When to you trim your cases?
Tim I usually deprime, resize and then trim in one bulk operation. That way when I’m ready to reload, I skip the resizing die and and start with the powder charge. I’ve found I only have to trim every other reload on a case.
Jason, you’ll need to consult your reloading manual to determine the disk size needed for your particular powder and charge. If you’re not sure, play around with different sizes until you consistently throw the powder charge you need. Thanks for watching and welcome to the reloading world.
Marcello, it depends on which powder you’re using. If you have a reloading manual it will show you which disk size to use. If you don’t have a manual, you can use trial and error along with scales to see which disk dispenses the correct amount. Good luck!
The charges have always been within one or two tenths of a grain and I have seen great reliability out of them. I check the charge around every 15-20 rounds.
