Thanks for sharing this rifle from your Dad's collection, very cool. I don't think anyone can every outgrow, or out "train" a 22LR.

I've seen Lee Enfield's converted to 9mm Flobert and .410 shot shells too which I think was done with surplus rifles from after WW2.

The # on the brass stock tag is probably the rack number.

When I was in cadets I used them and my Grandfather used them for training before going overseas for WW2 All made at Long Branch Arsenal in Ontario Canada. Nice piece of history.
