Thank god. Trying to find information about these filters is never very specific, the Lee site sends you to local vendors who then don't really profide much info either. This is the overview we all need. Lee should do better with their website, considereing how expensive these kits are and how much we all spend on them.

I really don't understand how so many people praised this demonstration. I didn't find any really useful information here. This is just a commercial for the Lee 100 filter system..Joe Cornish, is a great photographer, no doubt about it, I have several of his books. Saw many of his interviews on youtube, etc..My problem with Joe is that he doesn't communicate all the information..he hydes the most important elements..I never learned the technical part of landscape photography with Joe. I used his books just as coffee table books.I have them just for the nice pictures. Thank God, thete are few photographers that really share their knowledge, to cite a few, John Shaw, Galen Rowell, Joe Mcdonald, Ian Cameron, Peter Watson, Tim Fitzgerald, John Fiedler..not talking about Ansel Adams..sure I missed some others.. Charlie Waite is just like Joe Cornish.(just $$$$)..

The Reverse Grad is also very useful - dark in the middle and it gets lighter towards the top. Good for sunsets with clouds in the sky.

Very useful video, thank you. Nice pacing of the delivery. I understand the LEE system is rather expensive. I'm trying to achieve similar results with the Cokin P series filters which are somewhat cheaper and can be found second hand quite readily.

Hi Joe, incredibly informative video, thank you! I have a quick question regarding the circle polarizer. Can you screw it directly onto the lens with the Lee filter-holder adapter, or do you have to attach the adapter (and then adapter ring) to use it? If you cannot, are there any drawbacks of using an empty filter holder with the polarizer at the end? Thanks again for your content.

Hi Lee, I plan to buy the 105mm Polariser and it will be the polariser for all my lens because of as it's adaptability, As a result I will probably use the polariser in circumstance other than landscape photography and just wondered that if i find a 105mm lens cap would the polariser accept it because I might have it attached to my camera while using a black rapid strap and wanted to offer some protection to the front element?

Is Mr. Cornish using the wide angle lens hood in this video? I have a Lee lens hood (I thought it was the universal lens hood) but mine does not have screws that you can see when looking at the front of the camera.Also, what is the proper way to use the Lee 105 Landscape Circular Polarizer with the universal lens hood?

Can the 77mm used the bigger adaptor ring such as sw 150 ? Because I want to be able use in ultra wide lens in future . Thank you sincerely. Shawn

NEED HELP!! I have just purchased a Sony 16-35 GM with a 82mm diameter lens thread. After mounting the Lee filter system and a 105mm polariser ring I am getting very bad vignetting at 16mm. I then tried removing one of the filter guides however the vignetting is still prominent. So my question is before I send it back is whether there is a solution offered by LEE that I am unaware of? I really would like to stick with LEE and the circular polariser so please can you help? Thanks
@MichelleLevasseur
@MichelleLevasseur 6 лет назад
I don't know if you solved your problem already but in case not - did you buy the wide angle adapter like he recommended or are you using the standard adapter? At 16mm I would definitely be using the wide angle adapter not the standard. Alternatively there is the sw150 kit for ultra wides that you may have to turn to in this case.
@roiloubia4483
@roiloubia4483 2 года назад
As well explained by Michelle Levasseur, you cannot use the standard filter holder with ultra wide angle lenses without vignetting.

I know Lee filters are very good products, but they are quite expensive also. I recently moved to a large format camera and if I want to use Lee filters, for a holder plus 2 adapter rings and 3-4 filters, I have to pay as much as I paid for the whole camera and I just can't afford it unfortunately.
@MrCoder101

Worst thing about these filters is they're being touched by your hands and its hard to keep clean in the field. Taking them out and putting them back in to their carry pouch adds to the filth on the filters. Hard to clean while you're shooting in the field.
