Behind-the-scenes show basically like this: JG and stunt guys (who play gangsters he beats up) brainstorm who is fighting who, and who falls where, and they just film it one go.
If it were any other actor, they would have to be very accurate about how, where and when to hit. Since Lee Joon Gi can just do it on spot, they all just go for it.
Even when filming Resident Evil few years ago, Milla and Paul (director) kept praising JG for they have never met anyone as good as him when it comes to action stunts.

When people ask him why is he risking himself to do his own stunts, his answer is always like this: “Even if you put together stunt-double shots and the shots you did yourself as seamlessly as possible, when you break down those into frames, you will see huge differences.
