Hey Viewers, I haven't had any good ideas for videos in a while. Is there anything you would like to see that has to do with the Lee Load-master or Reloading in general? Comment below and if it's something i feel i can make a quality video on, i will.

The instructions are also poor for the bullet feeder, the primer feeder, and powder dispensers. While there are multiple videos out there on those topics, all fall short of your excellent design, presentation, videography, and sound.

I would really appreciate a quick video on setting up the Lee Auto Drum Powder measure, especially the powder thru die setup. You know, how to set it relative to the shell plate, etc. I've had it ruin a bunch of 223 brass because the drum turned too far on the upstroke. I'm not sure where the optimal position for the die is supposed to be.

At about the 10.25 mark on this excellent video, I spotted my problem and learned how to fix it. After loosening the bolt, I used a .010" feeler gauge to set the clearance and my Loadmaster I have struggled with for 20 years now works super slick..at last!

Thank you for this measurement! Feel is not a measurement, I can work with a .010" feeler gauge though! Saved me so much time.

You sir are a godsend. I was getting so frustrated I was about to chuck my loadmaster in the trash because that indexing rod wouldn't ever stay on that rib and would fall off half way down the rib. I adjusted the whole base closer to the rib ever so slightly and it works perfect now. I know this is moving a little fast, but I think I love you.

Yours is the best camera work ever! Ten years ago the bottom bolt loosened on mine and I knocked the carriage counter clockwise a bit and the indexing went bad. Everyone should know what you demonstrated here Keep that bolt tight and don't bang it home on the up stroke at the stop point. You are a big help to everyone.

Thank you for this excellent video. There was not only great information provided but it was provided in the way that was easy to assimilate and learn. I particularly like the way you deliberately created a problem, demonstrated the problem, and then showed the solution to the problem. That was extremely helpful. I've been running my LoadMaster press since 1993 and didn't know a lot of this stuff. It just worked and I just left it alone.

I see this is an old Post but I was lucky enough to come across it and can't thank you enough, I too have had the same issue as everyone with a Lee press, I just got my Load Master and have only made about 300 rounds, I'm a little crazy about keeping things clean and oiled, so I watch a few videos and decided to clean it up and greased it, trying to tighten things up due to issues with primers, huh go figure, well after installing my new LED light for the primers, while putting everything back together my index went Waco, I could not figure it out, so back to RU-vid, an lo and behold there you are, problem solved, most of us rookies problem is just lack of knowledge, it great to get that knowledge from a reliable source and I can't thank you enough, you have a new subscriber, hope to learn more from you and myself as I continue to explore and Learn my new toy. Thanks again!

Great video, gave me a lot of insight into the hidden workings. Mine is running well now. I had an issue of two of my four shellplates jamming at only one, but the same die station of each plate every time around. I applied all of what I knew plus your tips. I polished the four sides of the rod, and radiused the beveled edge to a mirror shine with an emery disk on my dremel tool. I then did what you did. I ran it with the ejector removed. It cycled VERY smooth. I left it out, put the 'o' ring and nut back on. Then I borrowed an idea from the Lee Pro 1000. I modified a large paper clip and mounted it under the top bolt of my case feeder. Works great, less drag!

I'm techy and tend to make videos like this myself. My press has been smooth, but at around 60k I wore out my indexing pin and filed on it- without fully remembering how it worked. Doh! Anyway since I was tired and not thinking my best, I decided to lookup tech vids and see what I was missing, if anything. Yours came to the top, and I avoided it because 14 minutes tend to be badly shot and mostly full of disordered mumbling. Boy was I wrong. You had exactly what was needed, and in the right order. Proof that you know how to make it work well, then an explanation of how to make it work. Then variable 1(index pin length and orientation) done right, and done wrong. Then variable two (carrier orientation), with an objective way to determine orientation, then done wrong. All clear, with just enough information that no one could misunderstand you. As a techy guy and a guy who tries to make instructional videos from time to time, I solute you for a job well done.

the load-master is a great investment. with proper care in setup and maintenance and some patience while it breaks in it will load thousands of round quickly and precisely. i don't even know how many rounds i've loaded in mine, i lost count after 12,000 (pushing 20k now) and it is only now needing some replacement parts (due to wear). i had to replace the case ejector and i need to replace the auto disk wiper. bottom line it is a great press and for the money it is an outstanding press.

Very well done video Spot ON for this press. I have had the indexing issues covered in this video and called Lee. They willingly sent me parts to "fix" the issue (no charge) (did not fix the indexing issue)...... but failed to mention any of the solutions you cover so well here. The instruction sheets that come with the press are very hard to read, not worded well, and the photos are to hard see (poor B&W photos)..... as to what is being discussed in regards to indexing issues. Once you have an understanding of the indexing system and how it works, the press works really well... It's a good press if you understand how it is designed .......but and intimate understanding of the indexing system is essential to maximizing this presses potential Great job covering the intricacies of this system

The purpose of the case ejector's "pawl" is to prevent reverse rotation of the shell plate as the index rod pulls away from the bottom of the shell plate at the ram down condition. When ram down and pawl correctly adjusted, a primer can be lifted dead center of the primer opening in the shell plate. Instead of oiling the index rod or the pull out rib of the frame, try a dry type aerosol lube. Shadowdogs' ejector mod is a remedy for a damaged or worn square shoulder on the carrier's center post, the square embossment that fits into the center of the case ejector. Not needed unless so worn or damaged. Good show!
