That's a damn impressive cake. Not gonna judge it, considering I could not even begin to bake something like that. Not that I mention it, I couldn't begin to bake anything at all. I can burn stuff. Very good at that.
Baking’s really not too difficult, it just takes a lot of getting use to and following directions. Do a couple box mixes and maybe some shortbread recipes to get a feel for it and get your confidence up. Then look for recipes with “absolute beginner” in the title. Don’t convince yourself you can’t just because you haven’t in the past! You are not a bake-off contestant, don’t hold yourself to that standard. Unless the standard is Lee. Then maybe hold yourself somewhere along those lines.
Most baking is literally just you follow a recipe. It only goes wrong on bakeoff because they're on a time limit. Remove that and you shouldn't have any problems unless you're doing something like choux.
didn't he set that record on t.v.? I seem to remember him mentioning being in the Book for darts on WILTY compilation vid, and then, at the end, there was a quick scene from some TV show of Lee throwing darts. I'm pretty sure it was televised, or i'm just losing it.
