The undisputed King of Reggae Dub had a massive influence on me as a young man. Yes, it was late at night in the late 70's and I had been smokin' some very potent green. Sydney radio station JJ 1540 AM were well known for playing experimental and avant garde music. That's where I first heard Lee ' Scratch ' Perry. In June 1980, JJ became JJJ 105.7 FM and the music sounded even better. Superlatives cannot describe or do justice to the man and his contribution to music, art and culture. RIP mate
Lee Scratch Perry the lover of His best friend Jesus Christ and goes not only for confession but also profession of his faith knowing that every universal governments are on the shoulders of Jesus Christ his Companion!!!
I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Mr. Perry in Indianapolis in 2015 at a small venue. He's even more mystifying in person if you can believe it.
+laurentbouna it is the 4th demension from "Humanicity" album, but it is the cover version of Perry's early work "Blackboard Jungle" (it is the first dub composition in history). And in the same time the Blackboard Jungle is the cover version of The Temptation's "Papa Was A Rolling Stone". Sorry, if my English was bad.
He got all the rights to be angry at the marley's.... they are not even have the right to be in Bob's Shadow... he is angry cause he thinks they AB-use the fame of Bob for making CRAPPY music...they have not stayed with the roots... Shame on rita, who was only a backing vocal... not a main vocalist, ... nough sayed...Jah Bless
streetsandlanes i know theres animosity between scratch, bunny and rita, i know they all hate each other...this is the first i heard it preached in song. Lmao
JAYMZPATRICK You're referring to Bunny Lee? I've seen some nice videos of him toasting away in the studio, but haven't been able to find them lately. There's one of him dancing, I don't mean that one. Also interviews, not those either.
JAYMZPATRICK OK, I'll have to remind myself about bunny wailer with a search or two. I've never been one to dislike someone on the basis of others disliking them... that leads to nasty schoolyard style isolation. I know that's not what you meant, though. On Bunny Lee, though, did you hear his studio recently burnt down?
Good producer but him as an artist 👀his music is rubbish yes I said it and 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣all of you here rating this rubbish something seriously wrong with you guys.discuss and trolls I await your response
Maybe not his best years, may be you didn't hear precious collab with MadProfessor , Augustus Pablo, Soothsayers etc during 90s. Not to talk about dubbing efforts. Pay some respect
