*** DESCRIPTION ** (MAKE SURE YOU READ THE BOTTOM FOR SOME CLARITY.. HOPE YOU ENJOY DESCRIPTION)
ITV presented an episodic documentary-type series about Leeds United called 'Leeds Leeds Leeds' following the clubs relegation from the Premiership in 2004. In the entire series, it documents the highs and lows in the clubs history from the Glory Days of the 1970s under Don Revie to the club's fall from grace in the 1980s, to the spectacular 1992 title win, to the Champions League Semi Final in 2001 and finally the clubs relegation in 2004.
After the documentary was made -- the club finished 14th in the Championship under Kevin Blackwell in another fairly turbulent campaign where players were rushed into the squad and the threat of liquidation once again loomed until Ken Bates controversially took over the club. In the following season, Leeds reached the 2006 play-off final but lost 3-0 to Watford. The following season after that was a nightmare and Leeds were relegated to League One for the first time in their history.
After 3 seasons in League One, the club were finally promoted in 2nd place under Simon Grayson. In the first season back in the Championship, the club finished 7th despite being 2nd at Christmas time. What was to come was further disappointment for Leeds fans as key players were sold without any adequate replacements which lead to an inevitable weaker second season back in the 2nd tier which resulted in Simon Grayson being sacked by Bates in February 2012. His replacement Neil Warnock didn't have much luck at Elland Road either but during his reign - another farce engulfed the club as an investment bank named 'GFH Capital' completed a takeover of the club in December 2012.
The new owners didn't really back Neil Warnock in January 2013 and the club's results declined under him until he finally departed in April. In came his replacement, ex-Reading manager Brian McDermott who got The Royals promoted in the season prior. He kept Leeds in the Championship with the remaining results being fairly positive which gave Leeds fans new optimism due to new on-pitch management and new ownership. Unfortunately, the feeling soon turned sour. The Summer 2013 incomings weren't as strong as fans expected. Leeds flirted with the play-off positions at Christmas time which was good however shit really did hit the fan in January 2014. Loan signings were made in January but they weren't adequate enough. The club's on pitch fortunes began to sink with poor league results and a disgusting 2-0 away defeat at Rochdale in the FA Cup. Pressure started to mount on McDermott and the squad but more internal problems became apparent. Players weren't getting paid and rumours of administration were popping up. A lack of real investment on the pitch was obvious to all, but everybody was quite surprised to see how bad the problems were. With GFH looking to sell-up, Italian side Cagliari's owner Massimo Cellino was one of the contenders to buy the club and he was successful in April 2014.
After finishing 15th in the Championship, McDermott left the club in the close season and was surprisingly replaced by ex-Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday under the title of 'Head Coach'. The set-up is heavily believed to be that Cellino brings in the players and Hockaday coaches them and gets them fit with Cellino picking the team. After a mix of English and Italian/foreign players arriving at Elland Road alongside some eccentric actions by Cellino to the press in the Summer.. the club are hopeful that this time, the club is under the right ownership as we bid for a return to the Premier League after a 10+ year absence.

THANKS FOR READING that - I hope it clears our post-Documentary history up for neutral fans who are viewing this video.
P.S -- I am well aware that WOODYAAA has posted the Leeds Leeds Leeds series many years ago but some of his parts were removed off RU-vid for some reason which results in inconsistent viewing obviously, so I have decided to re-upload the series.
And on a final note -- increase your PCs volume for the video! Apologies for low volume but increased it as much as possible.

I'm a Manchester United supporter, so no love lost there. However I do miss the battles, especially the ones at Elland Road. Couple of years back we played you in the league cup and it did feel a bit nostalgic though Leeds were really poor that night. How you got yourself relegated I can't fathom. A club of Leeds United stature should never be relegated, its bad for football. Hope to see you back up soon

Thanks Anton, appreciate your comment. Sadly if the ones who run it aren't up to scratch, then the club suffers as a whole like Leeds and say Rangers have done in the past. 15 years ago if you said either of them two would go down you would have been laughed at. Hopefully we can get back up there and battle the likes of Man United again.. But with Massimo Cellino in charge it looks doubtful right now

Your welcome, and I reckon if we stick with Rosler we will have a good shot at it next season. Sad that it's gone from the CL heights to trying to get back into the league we should never have gone out of. MOT

I'm sure Peter Reid would be delighted we eventually signed Michael Brown. Ok it took until 2011 but the thought was there

Absolutely gut wrenching to think that the team which started in 2001 against Valencia all of them had left the club by 2004 - what on earth was going on behind the scenes then absolutely appalling. Hope we can get promoted under Bielsa i know we blew it last season but glad we've kept him in charge give him chance to build a project at Leeds.

Paul Gray It’s a shame the way last season ended in the playoffs against derby, it was my toughest night as a Leeds fan. We’ve had a lot of bad memories since we’ve been out of the premier league, playoff final defeats to Watford in 2006 and Doncaster in 2008. We’ve been stuck in the championship for nearly a decade, most of the season’s we’ve had back in the championship we’ve always finished mid table except for 2010/11, 16/17 and 18/19. But losing to derby in the playoffs is up there as my worst memory as a Leeds fan because it was closest we came to getting back to the premier league since I’ve been going. The second leg at home to derby was our biggest game in years and my biggest game as a Leeds fan. But it wasn’t to be, it was a tough night for all leeds fans. But I’m confident we’ll do well again this season, this may well be the season that we finally get back to the premier league. Come on Leeds.

I knew Leeds was in the shit when they sold Rio to Fergie and Man U, but I never thought it would be 16 years between Premiership games. These were the team's dark ages for sure.

So, here I am watching this back (giving myself shudders as I remember all of this unfolding at that dark time) and the date today was 10th April 2021, and Leeds United have just beaten Man City today in the Premier League to go 9th in the division. First season back from this shit show by the way. So it only took 16 years to recover.....but recover we have!! And in other news, Leeds United are as of today's 3 points against Manchester City, mathematically safe from relegation this season! Well done lads.
