I have had leather leashes in the past, but like all leather products, there is a bit of maintenance in order to extend the life of the leather (saddle soap, conditioner, etc). I now have a 5' biothane leash for my Rottweiler pup, and it does seem to be strong, sturdy, Oklahoma weatherproof, and requires little to no maintenance. However, it will also cause a rough patch of skin on the edge of my left pinky finger when friction is involved via pulling or corrections. I never had that with leather leashes. I have a 30' nylon leash, but it is way too long and now considering the 20' biothane. Thanks for the informative video!!!

Leather is more comfortable to hold for me. Especially in wet conditions. However, leather requires some minimal maintenance every now and then. I have switched between the two, but ultimately prefer leather in terms of grip and feel. Even though I have a large active dog, I have never worried about (undamaged) leather or biothane breaking.

I have had both but in the recent years I’ve switched to biothane. To me it’s easier to clean and maintain.

I only buy your leather leashes for my Mastiff, Presa Canario. However, several months ago he broke a couple of the Leerburg leashes. The quality and stitching of the leashes are the best. But, it’s not just a horse that can break strong leather leashes.
