Todd, I was inspired by your build. I just finished the box build, and got the motor mount for "Larry" set to rotate smoothly. Now onto the foam cutouts and skeleton mount!
Good Job! Love the addition you did with the stone moving up under the Leerers foot. I too got my idea from Steve's Haunted Yard. Have you noticed how Steve's moves side to side...almost seems like he has a second linkage in the shaft...love it.
Great vid and excellent explanation! Obviously the dog at the end (@5:50) wasn’t very impressed, though! LoL Keep making the great videos. Really helps us amatuers!
Todd love the innovation to the leering skeleton. I would really like to use your ideas..great tombstone carving and the hand..that takes it to the next level. I always appreciate when someone takes the standard prop to the next level. Todd I have 2 reindeer motors that I would really appreciate if you would let me know the secret to attaching them. Did you heat and just use a pin to hold the PVC to the first motor. And the hand motor, did you over drill into the plastic or rubber ends of the deer motors?? Appreciate any advice. Thanks again for taking time to post the video.
+Murphy's muse - I warmed up the PVC with a heat gun and flattened. and drilled for the motor shaft. I used a link pin and a drywall screw to link to motor to the pvc. as you can see. i pull the pin and the prop spins freely. The motors have pre drilled holes on the back of them. i just screwed thru the wood walls into the motor to secure them.
I had a great idea for mine im gonna use a fan modor cut the spine and put grilla glue inside of the dpin then quickly put more put more on then I was thing of getting another fan using that modor for his head to move side to side to side awesome right
in the process of my build .Yours is fantastic. only trouble I am having is with the piece of PVC that is on my motor. what is the piece sticking out of the PVC? is the hitch pin going into that as a stop??
So you have PVC pipe running up the tombstone and the rod is going through that down to around the PCV T? What type of rod are you using, is it threaded or smooth? Thanks
What's the story? Did Larry come out of the box, or is another skeleton coming out, or what? Not understanding this. Great movement, just not getting the context of a green box under him that opens & green.
TODD I CAN'T SEEM TO GET MY LEERING PROP TO RUN SMOOTH IT KEEPS CATCHING AND REVERSING. WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO GIVE ME THE DIMENSIONS OF THE PVC PIPE YOU USED AND WHAT YOU USED TO ATTACH THEM TO EACH OTHER. I USED A HEX BOLT WITH A WASHER ON EACH SIDE AND A LOCK NUT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPECIATED. ALSO, WAS THERE ANY THOUGHT AS TO WHERE YOU PLACED THE MOTOR OR WAS IT TRIAL AND ERROR?
+House Decorator - It was a lot of trial and error, until I got smooth working linkage. having the link pin help i could disconnect the motor and run by hand.
What type of motor is this? Like a window wiper motor? A toy car motor? Just need a cheap motor if anyone has suggestions that would be greatly appreciated
