Left Banke Interview Part 2 

I am so proud of these guys. We've been rehearsing like crazy and the Bearsville concert I believe was the turning point for me. Now i am able to truly say with confidence that "THE BANKE IS BACK" on the road to huge success again. We're going for a new album with many surprises and great songs. Left Banke fans, I promise you one of the all time great come backs in this business. Thanks for your continued support. What an extremely COOL interview. I am from the Pacific NW (Oregon) and I am a fan that never stopped "loving and believing", but living way out here, I had NO idea that the Banke was Back until just now. I will NEVER forget the first time that I heard the song, "Walk away Renee." I remember where I was and the feelings that overtook me hearing it. How can something so insignificant still be remembered -- my parents took the family to a "destruction derby" and during intermission, coming from the worst sound system ever known to man, my love affair started. A young kid, 12 years old, and I still remember how this song emotionally captured me. That was the summer of 1966. I met Steve on the corner of 52nd St. & 7th Ave. in 1965. We started singing right away. It was great fun, and his voice was really great, he could hit high notes very well. I met George in late '64 at a show we were both doing. George's group had shoulder length hair and the girls just screamed their heads off. I said omg, longhair is a must. George & I became friends and we stayed in touch. I love talk about Michael Brown soon••••• I loved these guys like brothers.

Michael Brown died a day after it was announced that original singer Steve Martin Caro is back with The Left Banke, currently touring. There has been talk of a possible live album in the works. Let's hope and pray for longevity as a band much like The Zombies.

Steve Martin is NOT touring with The Left Banke. That get together in Florida never worked out. There's a lot of talk blah blah blah! But, Steve remains in Florida. Every week there's a new announcement that Steve is back. Steve is not back!!!!!!

It's not The Left Banke without Steve but I'm a purist. It's a shame that he never played with the other original band members. Glad to see there still out there playing.

Evidently there were a LOT of issues between Tom and Steve and who knows who in the group years ago; hence, from what someone said, "the beautiful" Steve evidently didn't want to come back and do a reunion. Am I right? Can anyone expound on that? I am very disappointed too...
