Glad to see George Cameron the drummer speaking here. He just passed away on June 24, 2018. They left us a beautiful song.

RIP to steve Martin Caro the lead singer. He was 71

Probably the most beautiful song the Left Banke did was "Pretty Ballerina" and it was written all by Michael Brown.Dont let these guys kid you ,Michael Brown was an important member of the original Left Banke.

When they played under the John Wannamaker eagle in Philly they had little material. The Left Banke ended up playing "Daytripprer" three times. I met Tom years ago at Farfels in Greenwich Village. He was buying his first album because the box of copies he got back in the day was gone. He had left if on a radiator and melted them.

The Left Banke would be nothing with Michael Brown and Steve Martin. They were the heart and soul of the Left Banke. The rest of the band stopped Michael Brown from performing under the name Left Banke, but the same people who sued Brown now perform his songs without him.

Michael Brown wrote the song along with most of their other best songs. He left the group after the first album and is not part of the reunion. He is briefly mentioned at the end of this clip.

Finn tells the guys to not talk over each other so what does he do 5 seconds into the first question?

I would pay 100$ to hear them play "Walk away Renee' for 3 hours...:)

Michael Brown died a day after it was announced that original singer Steve Martin Caro is back with The Left Banke, currently touring. There has been talk of a possible live album in the works.

What an awful shame. I do see the personalities in the group as you watch them be interviewed; it's inevitable. The interviewer is very much responsible for not addressing everyone in the group back and forth. There are all those people there, if "one" likes talking more than the others, the interviewer should have known how to handle that, simply and diplomatically. I am very sad to hear that Steve isn't back with the group; his voice was just amazing; very beautiful. He was beautiful to see and beautiful to hear and without him it's a disappointment to me. Too bad they couldn't bury the hatchet - get together - and ask him with due respect to please come back and do this again, for the fans. I do NOT know the history, I'm certain it's fraught with problems and anger, but this is IT. You don't get younger in this world, you get older. I would like to see the ENTIRE group; not part. Maybe someone should do a "group intervention" and find a way to bring Steve into it. Not Kidding!!!

You have to realize that for many many years the fans of this band including the members, resigned to the fact that the reforming of this group was never going to happen. I was one of the early fans on their facebook page and I'm telling you they were hammered and hammerd again constantly about reforming.Tom at first was VERY reluctant but I really think he put it in gear for us, his fans with the unspoken stipulation that he pilot this plane..It was fine then and remains fine! They're BACK!!!!!

They had something unique about them that you couldn't get in any other beat groups from the 60s, and the closest I can reckon is the Moody Blues

First off it's Finn not Fin. Second the guy with the cowboy hat is George Cameron the original drummer and LB member as is Tom an original member. Tom is a historian of music and pop culture from our 20th century. He the "blowhard" as you call him is the story teller. He has a huge memory of the way things went down back then and payed attention that is why he tells the stories as they went down. If you are truly a LB fan the things he has said in this interview and part 2 have been informative.

Michael Brown was the singular talent of this group, writing “Walk Away Renee” and “Pretty Ballerina.” These guys didn’t want Michael in the group, and they were no-talent quasi-musicians.

It's funny, he talks about DJing for these famous people Deniro, Whitney Houston - if you told me I had the opportunity to hang with them, or Left Banke no question who I'd rather spend my time with.

I have been in radio broadcasting and entertainment for 25 yrs so I understand when you have to take the bull by the horns & be a spokesman, somebody has to do it or things will fall flat!
