I’m just thinking about how most of us were complaining about the snow and cold 🥶 and with the heat we’ve been having lately wouldn’t mind a little bit of the colder temperatures!!!!! It’s truly a vicious cycle what Mother Nature gives us to deal with yearly!!! And half the year is gone already!!!! Wrecker Rick keep up the amazing content and I’ll see you in the next awesome video!!!

Been waiting for this video for a while. I'm the owner of the Tacoma in the video. We got to our yearly camp site Thursday with about a foot of snow on the ground. Weather forcasters severely underestimated the amount of snow that would drop that weekend. Most of what was seen on the ground fell Saturday night into Sunday morning. We packed up Sunday morning and made it through several miles of that snow before getting stuck on an uphill grade. We didn't get rescued until late Monday morning by search and rescue. I was supposed to have a winch on my truck, but fell prey to an Amazon scammer that created a shipping label which held up my refund for said winch until the day we left for the trip. This may be a once in a lifetime snowfall, but I plan to be prepared for this if it ever happens again. Newly ordered winch was installed and I ordered more recovery gear in preparation. I personally have been doing this annual trip for 8 years and my friend has been doing it for 25 years with his family. I won't let this experience scare me away. We definitely appreciate Murphy's for coming out and recovering our trucks and a huge shout out to search and rescue picking us up in the snow cat. Edit: Between 5 sets of snow chains (10 individual chains), we broke 5 individual chains. The auto lock chains seem like a good idea, but don't hold up to that kind of abuse.
@iffykidmn8170
@iffykidmn8170 Год назад
Add in the fact that chains only work if the tires are touching the ground.

Very nice videos from you. Here in the vicinity of Frankfurt, I have not experienced a meter of snow for a good 50 years. In the east German Mountains ( Border line to the Czech Republic), 60 years ago, a meter of snow, was normal. Snow drifts in the mountains with 3 - 5 meters of snow, were not uncommon. Laugh, better you have the snow, than we. Greetings from Frankfurt

@ 10:13 asshole deep, I was 6 foot 8 and 365, I still got Carhart total coveralls, good for what you're doin I also got Sherpa Sno-claw snow shoes , hell when I was 36 I could run with those on in 6 foot of snow, those shoes had tempered aluminum frames you could run out into a plowed road down the bank and up the other side and not damage the shoes, best brand there is I had next to the largest set so I could carry gear with me too .The largest you could carry about 300 pounds extra, like if you shot an elk and had to pak it out and still be able to shoot a rifle incase you encountered a grizzly. The best damn snow shoes around. You get used to walkin in em and you would be dam surprised at how much easier it is to get hard work done in deep snow. Hell I aint pretendin I know you guys I mention this just in case you haven't tried snow shoes, This brand also has poly-urethane webbing, The pair I got is over 20 years old and they still work. If nothin else it gives you a better platform to work from. Powder snow you sink about 4 or 5 inches 3 feet or 17 feet, they come in handy on snow covered ice 1/2 inch thick only tried 10 feet of water had 45 available but chickened out, didn't want to discard my shoes in deep water , 10 feet go back in summer and fish em out. Dam I wish I was young again, I' m 70 now 250 with another 50 pounds of covid siittin around fat ,got no muscle now sure do enjoy watchin you guys work smarter, just thought I'd give you a heads up on the snow shoes, they really are worth their money in gold. I walked a couple miles at night in a snow storm if not for those shoes I'd have died of exhaustion.👍

@@MURPHYSDIESEL I have said this before long before this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GrHmKCkbA2g.html Bailey's towing and recovery makes ropes are best 2nd to none. Other than that great job everyone. I told you about the winches first then when I seen you with them ropes not a good idea choice for the work that you do. These people who use them are bad in math and science no commonsense. How many ropes do you replace in a month compared to a winch cable that is well greased up!?
@MURPHYSDIESEL
@MURPHYSDIESEL Год назад
@@anthonybarton2103 my wrecker Rick ropes are made by Sampson which come from Baileys, the best in the industry, Go buy one. I’m using yankum fairleads, synthetic winch line on my off-road rigs, some of their other items like winch rings that Baileys doesn’t offer. Was the title CLICK BAIT? I missed the left for dead part. When the other tuber announced, he was going to build the world's largest off-road wrecker I knew with the followers he had other smaller tubers would jump on the wagon and use that in their thumb nails. So, is the title click bait? I don't have anything against your channel, I haven't seen enough to judge yet but it's a rocky start when things are misleading. Clicking my mouth, stay tuned.
@MURPHYSDIESEL
@MURPHYSDIESEL Год назад
The people were out there for multiple days, search and rescue had to rescue them. “Left for dead” is a little extreme, but necessary, if we don’t make the titles interesting then they don’t get views. If they don’t get views then the channel doesn’t grow, if the channel doesn’t grow then you can’t afford to make videos. Then you don’t have a channel. Ask for “the worlds largest off-road wrecker” that’s an opinion to what the creator considers off-road, or largest. Personally I don’t think any of the companies on RU-vid have the largest off-road wrecker. I know several companies that aren’t on RU-vid with off-road heavies much larger and much more capable. What’s on RU-vid is a very small glimpse into the towing industry, your seeing people who are good at RU-vid not towing and recovery. I’m not a fan of click bait either, but I don’t think it’s clickbait if the content is as good as the title. I believe our content is better than our titles.
@jeffwomack5821
@jeffwomack5821 Год назад
@@MURPHYSDIESEL I didn't know they were stranded for days and had to be rescued. Yes, nature can be a cruel killer and if you aren't prepared then you lose before you begin. I have to agree with your opinion on the World's largest. It's a claim that can't honestly be owned by any tubers. I was only saying that a lot of people are going to jump on the gravy train he started. That is a RU-vid thing to survive. Key phrases make the videos pop up. I will keep watching your videos with an open mind. Thanks for explaining your views.
