Now for left-handed crocheters! This super easy to make bandana can be made in any weight yarn with an appropriate size hook. You start at the center/top and can therefore stitch for as many rows as you like to get the size you want! And you can make the ties as you add the top edging so there is very little finish work to do - just weave in a few ends and you are done!
Pattern:
Begin with a Magic Ring.
Row 1: Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in ring. Ch 3, turn. Tighten ring. 6 dc
Row 2: Dc in first dc, dc in each of next 2 dc, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in ch-3 sp, dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in last dc. Ch 3, turn. 12 dc
Row 3: Dc in first dc, dc in each dc across to ch-3 sp, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in ch-3 sp, dc in each dc across to last dc, 2 dc in last dc. Ch 4, turn. 18 dc
Row 4: Dc in next dc, *ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc. Rep from * across until last dc before the ch-3 sp remains, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in ch-3 sp, **ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc. Rep from ** across to last dc, ch 1, dc in last dc. Ch 3, turn. 10 ch-1 sps
Row 5: Dc in each dc and ch-1 sp across to ch-3 sp, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in ch-3 sp, dc in each dc and ch-1 sp to end, 2 dc in last dc. Ch 4, turn. 30 dc
Rows 6 - 13: Rep Rows 4 - 5 three times then Row 4 once more. Do not end off.
Ties and Top Edging:
Ch for approximately 10” and note how many chs you made (I used 36), turn to sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch until you reach the bandana, sc evenly across top of bandana (I used 2 sc per row but your mileage may vary depending on your gauge), ch the same number of sts for the second tie as you did for the first, turn to sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, join to last sc of Top Edging with a sl st. End off.
Weave in all ends.
