(please note: This pattern staggers the clusters row after row, this is why you have 2 UK trebles at the beginning and end of the 1st 2 rows, then only 1 UK treble at the beginning of the next 2 rows as the pattern staggers so must the ends, this way the clusters look like your building a wall)

FOR THOSE CONFUSED WITH THE END OF THE ROWS... This pattern staggers in on the 1st row then the 2nd set of clusters staggers out. So if your 1st row has 19 clusters your next set of clusters will have 20. Then 19 for the next row as it should stagger IN then 20 for the next set as it will again stagger OUT. This is why you have 2 UK trebles at the start and end of your 1st and 2nd row then only 1 UK treble at the start and end of the next 2 rows these are the rows the stagger the pattern. The rows with 1 treble at the beginning and end will be the rows with the extra cluster. You can have as many as you like on the 1st row of YOUR blanket but remember the next set will have 1 more cluster. The pattern is sets of 2 rows (the granny part then the top gathered cluster row) 4 rows will make the full stagger in and out pattern. The 2 rows with 2 at the end is the set in row. The 2 rows with the 1 treble on the end is the one that staggers OUT in a bit. I hope this help those struggling to work out the pattern (it staggers out and in out and in )

I too prefer the multi- colored yarns (with sparkles especially). I like the fact that you can alter the size of stitch, & pattern simply by use different size needles. I wish you had a chat on messenger, because I am very intrigued to hear your story of when, how, & who got you started on your crochet journey.

Hi Alison, I only come across your channel the other day, it's fab, I gave only been doin crochet 2 days and I've made the baby bonnet that you made a year ago (the pink one with the feather around the face and ribbon) my little grandaughter wants some things for her baby dolls, can you tell me how small I go to do this one in very small, the one I did is too big, but I still love it, thankyou ❤

Hi, Angela, firstly try a smaller hook, this will make the pattern itself smaller, measure your pram (i am assuming you want it for a doll) then do your chain to the with you need it in sets of 3.

Sorry Alison I'm still learning, l'm just wondering why I would need to measure the pram for a smaller bonnet ? and yes it's for a doll about the size of tiny tears (back in the day lol).x

because i thought you were talking about the blanket as the comment is with the blanket video hahahah try a smaller hook for a smaller bonnet do the same tutorial but use a much smaller hook my mum always did that as a first step to smaller items for premie babies and dolls. try a 4mm hook and dk yarn

Hi Alison I started this blanket but the edges are not straight they are going out on one corner and in on the other side should the 2sides be straight up

yes, Liz they should be straight try a stitch market in the top od the chains at the end and beginning sounds like your not going into the top of those, also remember when the pattern is going set in its 2 stitches at the ends and when the clusters are out its only 1 treble crochet so you should at each end have 1 treble on rows 1 and 2 and two trebles each end of row 3 and 4 the repeat those rows.
