Ren became seriously ill in 2010 but his condition wasn't diagnosed properly for another 6 years. In the meantime the meds he was given made him worse and he was often confined to his bed for up to 23 hours a day. In 2016 he was correctly diagnosed with Lyme Disease and he had a couple of stem cell transplants which improved his health. However, the years of incorrect treatment have left him with a badly damaged immune system and some brain damage. He is currently receiving specialist medical treatment in Canada which is likely to take at least 6 months

Here is some additional information on Ren's story that I gathered from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's livestreams and posts where he discussed his condition. Ren Erin Gill is a British musician/independent artist; born in Wales on March 29, 1990; he eventually moved to Brighton. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue and subsequently his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Calgary, Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023) undergoing IV and other interventions five days a week. Ren recently underwent wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery. In addition, his Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Now, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. Let's keep supporting Ren as he undergoes his treatments. Gives me hope for the future, which is encouraging..personally i did not encounter his situation, but the empathy and sympathy i think is a bit lacking in my generation is nice to see..i havent been so excited by a new artist since Pink Floyd and more recently Nightwish

Great reaction guys. I have a technical question. I am a reactor, and I have been talking to a few other youtubers about doing some reactions together. However, I can't figure out HOW, or what program to do it on. I use OBS Studios, and I have been told that I can't do a LIVE reaction with a guest. Did you guys record this ahead of time or was it a live? What program are you using to bring in the other person? I saw that you kept looking towards your fellow reactor, but you aren't at the same place, right? I just wonder what you are looking at, is it your "partner" on a separate monitor? That would make sense. I'm just trying to figure out how to bring a guest on, and share the screen to react to the same video at the same time. I've searched for youtube tutorials, but I can't find any that show how to accomplish this. I would appreciate your input! And what exactly do you tell them to hang around for if they don't care about anything, or anyone. I would get crappy pep talks too. Listing all the things, and people I don't care about as a reason to stay. Then I was told nothing lasts forever, just hang in there. That was 20 years ago. Now I hang around mostly out being a coward.

as Sammy D ( comments below ) stated, Ren contracted Lyme disease, was misdiagnosed as bi-polar, given psychotropic meds that fed his psychosis.......he is still in treatment..... it all started when he was 17 -- he is still in treatment and has a GoFundMe account to help pay medical bills......the pig is a butcher and represents Ren's opinion of mental health care, the discordant guitar and vocals represent his internal chaos, as do the blinking lights.......
