"How to be Me" shows his singing ability along with song writing.

Ren is probably one of the most engaging artist you find. I've not found one bad song in his work. His story of survival against all odds will take you down a rabbit hole of tears and joys. A writer, a poet, a producers and multi-instrumentalist, Ren covers all manner of music from performace art to rap, rock, roll, and blues. He still battles the side effects of undiagnosed Lyme disease to help his body recover as much as possible receiving treatments in Canada. All the while, his new album Sick Boi, just topped the charts at #1 in the UK even though he is an independant artist.

Ren battling with the negativity of the inner voice that constantly tries to drag him down. This is a battle that so many of us have and Ren, with his lyrical genius, verbalises it brilliantly.. For me the beauty is in the positive message of hope that follows his demon's rant....... 'I'll stand in your fire, inspire the meek to be strong'. He is certainly doing that!

He and his crew found this abandoned building and decided to record in it. This song is done in one take no stopping no splicing no cutting. The landlord however came in and stopped them during the first take. They convinced them to let them continue. This one that we are watching is the third take and again is recorded from beginning to end. This guy is incredible.

More Ren please. There is so much more to Ren than rapping. Name any genre and Ren can do it and excel at it. One thing for sure: Ren will always amaze you. Thank you for this reaction.

The young girl seemed into Ren so I’ll suggest a couple of songs she might like. ‘Dominoes’ and ‘The Tale of Jenny and Screech’ which is the (13:32 minute version) you might all appreciate, it has a story that’s definitely worth reacting to.

I'm a 69-year old Brit that likes pop, blues, soul, folk, classical, trad. jazz, funk, country, heavy metal - but not much rap or hip hop - until I found Ren a couple of months ago. This guy is the most versatile and talented musician and storyteller that I have ever come across. Since two of you aren't really into rap, I'm going to suggest that you react to another side of Ren next. Whilst Ren can do a lot of rapping, he's actually a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (an all-round artist, really), and he straddles many, many genres. You might prefer something along the lines of the two songs he did with Chinchilla (How to be Me, and Chalk Outlines, the live versions of both), or perhaps something from him and his band 'The Big Push' (the busking session where he's wearing Red suspenders is a fan favourite, and the I Shot the Sherriff or Warpigs mashups are both excellent). But for more of his storytelling chops you really can't go wrong with reacting to The Tale of Jenny and Screech (full - the version that incorporates Violet's tale after Jenny and Screech). It's not necessarily an easy watch, but it's masterful.

Your lucky day that you stumbled upon Ren. His album "sick boi" was number 1 on the UK charts and top on itunes and he charted in the US and other countries. Try his first song off his new album (Seven Sins) it is amazing and just go down the line 1-18. There is something for everyone. He is a special musician, not many built like him.

First of all I love your reaction to this and hello from the UK! Ren is a genius in his own way. What Ren is showing you in the room, is in fact the inside of his head. From the lamps flashing to the pig butcher in the beginning of the video, the gown and wheel chair are pretty self-explanatory. If you notice as well, the lamps are flashing between the 2 voices he is characterising, and also one of the lamps is smaller and tucked into the corner of the room to the right and one standing tall on the left symbolising Ren's past and present (the smaller lamp being Ren's past and what he was dealing with like he was cowering in a corner, and the taller lamp being Ren's present self, standing tall in the face of all that he's been through and pushing past his pain to be what he is today) did you also notice his shadows on the floor move with flashing as well and where they are positioned? This is also all done live and is a one-take with the cameras switching between different angles. I hope to see more reactions from you with Ren and so on!

You have NOT scratched the surface of Ren. The comments want you to see Ren in all his glory! Almost EVERY song has some kind of shock factor! He is a stylebender! Pick a song and do a reaction! One of the most important takeaways from any Ren video is they are shot in a single take format, each video is start to finish only one take and live!

Ren is therapy for so many from one song he helps so many people open up in ways therapists struggle to do in person. First time i watched Hi Ren i had a panic attack but thought i needed to watch it again so i watched someone reacting to it that was the best thing i could do i have watched many times since. One thing i think about this song is it needs to be seen by every one even in schools after a certain age, because how many children kill themselves because of the negativity towards them from nasty comments and bullying to them believing what is said. I went through hell, bullied all through school to the point i attempted suicide twice, and to many issues in my life since then I am a recovering alcoholic 11 years clean I suffer PTSD and other health issues so the majority of bad days over good is high, if this bullying had been dealt with i may have had a reasonable life not the existence i have to deal with now

You really need to watch Rens Money game pt 3. It's a true masterpiece of art and music. Also his acoustic versions of his songs like Murderer and Animal flow really highlight his awsome talent.

I have never seen an artist like Ren before. I've watched this maybe 30 times by now. Did you notice how the lights only flickered when 'Dark Ren' spoke? Did you notice the two shadows, how one is darker than the other one? Did you notice how the lighting created an orb-like effect, that some felt looked like a spaceship? Did you notice that this is a live performance? His mic is on his hospital gown, and his guitar is plugged in. Ren is a multi-instrumentalist and performs music in different genres. He played with a group that called themselves 'The Big Push', and they did quite a few well known covers, and they're all great. They played outside and hundreds of people would gather to listen to them. They were so popular that someone painted a huge mural of the four members. He's also performed with other artists too, that you will love listening to. He's been interviewed by many RU-vid channels, so I highly recommend that you listen to at least one of them. If I had to pic, I'd say either Rosalie Reacts, Knox Hill, or The Charismatic Voice, but every interview is great, because Ren has something to say, and I really hope that he changes the world.

If anyone can make you a rap fan, it's Ren. I would never listen to rap until I came into contact with Ren's music. Now I love his rapping! He mixes it with music in such an engaging way.

How to be Me, Chalk Outlines, The tale of Jenny and Screech the full version, Money Game part 3 and For Joe!!!

This information gives you some background on Ren and puts much of his music and performance art in perspective. I gathered the information from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's public livestreams and posts. All the information here was gathered exclusively from sources Ren personally approved for public release. Ren is a Welsh independent artist, musician, producer, and mostly self-taught multi-instrumentalist. He pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures, which eventually caused him to discontinue his studies and return home. In addition, Ren was signed by Sony Records in 2010 and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point that he was unable to go on; consequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren would later relocate to Brighton. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Calgary, Canada undergoing treatments. His Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, and adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Hence, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. He recently took a break from treatments and returned to the UK to visit family and friends, and to produce some very ambitious musical projects which he just released. Let's keep supporting Ren as he undergoes his treatments. Ren hit #1 on the UK Billboard Album Charts in October. Ren goes way beyond music. Ren produces art. His stories and messages just happen to be told through the medium of music. Another one from Ren that I think you'll like (and I mean truly LIKE, as opposed to just appreciate), is "Chalk Outlines". It a sung (not rapped) duet with another amazing independent artist, Chinchilla. They both have top tier singing voices and they blend together as good as any duet I've heard.

He is one of the very very few artist who dosent copy strike his songs and will talk to anyone who wants to talk with him he takes around 20 pills twice a day and is one of the best people in music

Chiming in nearly a month on and I would very much like see you all react to more Ren and other musicians. One thing with Ren, He’s 33 and just emerging from a decade chrysalis of disease, misdiagnosis, psychosis and the deepest of trials. Before he contracted Lyme’s disease at age twenty he already started a comet’s flight as a young musician. An agent from Sony Records even heard him busking on the street and signed a record deal with him. He formed a band, Trick the Fox. You can find those early Ren recordings. At twenty though he suffered the dual tragedies of his best friend’s suicide and the onset of the terrible decade of illness. All was snatched from him. And pain is something utterly intimate. No one feels your pain. Ren was alone in his and it was agonizing, maddening, rending, terrible mortifying and seemingly unending pain. Through it all, or perhaps because of his travails and passage, Ren clung to and arrived at some of the most intimate and profound truths and emerged with a playful heart and a deep appreciation for the darkness we sense too near or upon us. He is the one to pluck humanity from the jar of bones. Whatever you take in from him be prepared to dance a bit between the darkest and the brightest. I look forward to the journey. Us oldies can say there's nothing new in his message, we've heard most of the clichés/tropes before - but never had anything presented like this before - an amazing performance, musically, lyrically, the videography & the final monologue with his message of how he got through. He wrote this as he was coming to terms with his illnesses on the road to recovery - it's his story, his imagery & we learn something without being preached at. Check out 'Crutch', written years before when he was at a very low ebb, then 'Money Game', a scathing social commentary that holds up a mirror to us all.

Hi ladies! Going through some of ur previous reactions and as always Lulu never disappoints, well none of you do. You and ur mama must have superb motherly instinct. To be able to find something which has each person seemingly enjoying , despite the generation gap, spending this quality time together, makes me wistful. I think you would like "Humble" or "Chalklines". I can find something to love about every song he puts out. It may not be my genre but his lyrics are deep.

So incase no1 has said ren was born in Wales lives in Brighton in England. At the age of 16 he started becoming very sick and was misdiagnosed with M.E, Depression, bipolar and sycosis and was fed medication that didn't work and untill a year ago finally got diagnosed with lyme disease and is now getting the treatment he needs and is doing alot better. On the song what you may not know is the audio of the video was done live and as 1 but the video was sliced from 4 attemps as that's all they could do. Alot of rens videos are live and 1 take videos meaning no edits. I recommend the trilogy of jenny and screech, su!cide and money game part 1 part 2 and part 3

Some of his songs touch deeply on the mental health and physical struggles he has and is still enduring while others are more light hearted and fun. I have not heard another artist able to appeal to so broad an age range of listeners. And your reaction of "What is this?" is everyone's reaction. I can only think of four other occasions in my life time where the border of what is "Pop Music" were so thoroughly broken: Elvis "That's Alright" single, The Beatles "Sergeant Peppers" album, David Bowie on the "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" tour and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" song.

Hello. I am guessing that you are just now discovering Ren. I heard where you said that you aren't into rap. The great thing about Ren is that he does a lot of different genres of music and is unbelievably good at all of them. Lol. He used to be in a band called "The Big Push". They did street performances in the UK where he's from. Check out the titles War Pigs, Sympathy for the Devil and Paint it Black. It's a rock cover band and are INSANELY TALENTED! I've been a Classic Rock fan since 1979 and wait until you see how good of a guitarist he REALLY IS!Lol If you do find them I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!🙂👍

Great reaction! Please do more REN… “Tales of Jenny and Screech” are a must, but truly one cannot go wrong with any REN song(would also recommend The Big Push, his band, specifically “Bongo Bong” and “Praise You”). Also want to shout out generation 3 correctly using “good” and “well” in her commentary. Nice to know the younger generation still has an appreciation for proper grammar.

In my humble opinion, you would enjoy watching and listening to The Tale of Jenny and Screech, which is a 13 minute trilogy of 3 stories which hits you hard in the feels. Yes, there is more profanity, but not too much so that you might feel uncomfortable. After the "Tales", you might enjoy something a bit lighter, so his song "Power" will no doubt lift your spirits somewhat.
