Hi this is my first time posting on here. But I have followed you guys from the start and also your other channel, you guys should be very proud of how far you have come in such a short time,, I have a little house about a hour out of Burriram in a little village. I’m back in Australia 🇦🇺 taking care of my dad who is 91 years young. I show him your farm from time to time and he loves what you are doing.. I watch your channel because I’m homesick for my little house, when you’re riding around the farm or in town I hear the birds and listen to the language and see the wonderful people of rural Thailand 🇹🇭 going about their live When it’s hot 🥵 I feel the heat when you go to the markets I can taste the food 🍲. So I would like to thank you and your wonderful family for keeping me connected to the place I also call home. And for giving me another way to explain to Dad how live is in rural Thailand 🇹🇭. So thanks again Regards Sam and Matt 🙏🙏
I love your channel, I lived in Chiang Mai for 12 years, did the village life, learnt the language, with a northern accent😁, had 18 muay thai fights too, had to come back to England after getting knicked with 20 grams of weed in 2014 before it was legal, did some prison time, great fun😭 I really miss it over there so love watching your content, always wishing you and the family the of luck for everything 🙏❤
It would definitely be hard to be away from your wife and child for that amount of time. At least while going through that you still had the love from your wife and child not like in the west where a woman can decide on a whim that she no longer cares for you and takes your child and leaves then shackes up with someone else and starts telling your child it's OK to call the new guy daddy. I am so happy to see in your videos the love and commitment that you have for each other. I was always amazed at otitis hair, the amount of hair and how wavy and curly it was and then poor little Hugo coming on scene sporting more of a look like his daddy. Congratulations on your successful journey to this point I hope it keeps getting better for you guys.
Hello Ryan. I watched this again today, 8-24-2024. I wanted to thank you for helping me live out my dreams vicariously through your many vlog. Due to my age and health I will never be able to live my dream. You were one of the first people I came across when I was considering trying to move to Thailand. I just wanted to say a simple thank you, and I'm sure there's many people who enjoy your vlogs as much as I do. Take care
Maybe that choice to leave Bali behind will be one of your greatest decisions. Been so enjoyable watching the journey for the last couple of years. The house, the animals, the journeys you’ve taken. Quite inspiring. Learnt a lot along the way. Hopefully we’ll see the new (old) house develop.
Don't read the negative comments, they have no basis in reality, just angry, miserable people who are envious of your wonderful life and family. find the delete and block button and continue sharing your story that many of us want to witness and enjoy. ❤
Can’t believe it’s been 4 years. Funny seeing you build the out shower again. You have such a wonderful happy life and I love watching what ur all up to.
"Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it." Over the past 4 years, I feel privileged to have been able to see this journey and to have virtually accompanied you. You have achieved magnificent things with Damo, and yet you are still only at the beginning of the road. I will be happy to continue accompanying you along your journey, whatever the destination is!
An old friend still enjoy you sharing your journey from the beginning...you have all come a long way, Otis at school, Hugo walking. Great journey Ryan, many thanks for the pleasure you & your family has given me ❤
Absolutely brilliant, love how you guys have flourished after some horrendous times. 10000% the right choice going back and improving all your quality of life. My thai gf also loves watching along, she was in tears at the airport reunion scene 🙏 looking forward to the next 4 years 👍🙏 Steve KPG
Thanks for the recap, Ryan. It was interesting following along. It was Paddy's visit with you that introduced us to your channel. You're blessed to live a simple, peaceful life with your family. May you be blessed for many more years on that land. May it serve you well.
You will reflect in later years how fortunate you both were to spend all of your time with your children. Watching them grow and develope you can never put a price on that. The years go by so quickly you and Damo are so blessed.❤
Wow so astonished that it's already 4 years watching your vlog. I remember when I started following you in the quarantine time in Bangkok and I was sitting in Germany, dreaming of a possible future in Thailand. So much happened since that time and I followed each of your steps and I'm so happy to hear how you and your family are still doing well there. Of course my life stepped forward too and now it's 3 and a half year that I learned to know my love of my life and she's from Philippines. Never thought this would happen but life goes it's own ways. So it's just two days and I'll return to Manila to meet her again and of course - as each time - when I fly through the skies high over your place, I'll send all the best to you and all the others. Your success is my hope for a future life in Philippines and step by step I'll get there. All the best for you all, stay safe and be blessed Martin
Good on you, well done on being brave enough to try something new, and not just accepting your lot in life, to create a healthier and happier life for yourself and your family. Wish you all the luck in the world with your new life.
I remember well during Covid while I was watching your channel, you inspired me to stay strong during a very difficult period and I am grateful for your positive input.
A lovely story . It's funny really , the covid years were really terrible not helped by many governments but many people like these folks have spread their experience and much joy around the world which perhaps would not have happened had we not been all locked up for a while ! Thank you for sharing your lovely journey .
It was great seeing your journey in a time-lapse, to see just how far you all have come. Money can't buy time with your family, so glad you have come to a point where you are able to spend time with your beautiful family 🙏
Many congratulations on your "birthday". Think I started watching 3 or 4 weeks before you flew back to Thailand. I hope you continue to grow and find success.
wow ryan what a throwback... loved this video... damn time flys.. i forgot how empty the land was compared to now... amazing journey.. and will only get better.. 💪👍
Hi from NZ we started watching you from the time of you playing the sax with Otis in the wooden house. You have both really done well for yourselves. Thanks for letting us join in your journey
I remember when I first came across you and Damo.. was on your flight back to Thailand.. I was hooked from that day on!.. it's been a true joy watching you all grow together and create what you have all created.. really special.. much love to you all🥰💜🦋🥀
Ryan, Damo, Otis, and Hugo I remember the first vlog I saw on "Life in Bamboo " was when you built the shower on the side of your bamboo hut. I have enjoyed every vlog since. I went back to watch all the previous vlogs. I have enjoyed your sharing the daily life in Thailand that you and your family have. Your vlogs and book to help expats like me to understand the changes that one could face when retiring in Thailand were so helpful. All I can say is thank you to all of you for letting me enjoy your channels and your lives. Ken
Really enjoyed watching this, feel happy and calm when I see your videos. Sorry to hear there are those out there who want you to fail. I just see a man and his family and community living their best lives and hopefully continuing to do so as long as they live and the generations after.
really enjoy all your content and the rural life. Been married 19 years to my Thai wife and We will retire there soon but in suburbia 😊. I signed up to Surfshark with your code 👍
You have a lovely family and you made what was probably a very hard decision but probably the best one . I have a thai wife and we have bought up our two boys in the UK I would love to be able to go and settle in Thailand not just for me but to give my boys who are now 18 and 21 a chance of having a different option. Your vlogs help to give me ideas. Keep up the good work
I joined at 6. 26. Loved you all ever since. Thank you for all your hard work. I was yearning to get back to Thailand and watched a few Thailand channels, you and Damo are about the only one I have constantly watched even though I have been back since last year. ❤️❤️❤️
I actually loved you sharing your special meaningful stories about how you met Damo, married by how many years by having two kids you and her are taking care of for about 10 years, you're still sharing the popular information about them including your own too. That's why I'm glad that you're introducing me to be your fan in your channels. All are perfectly done not only on your own, including your loved ones and kids. Some of the situations were also done by the Lord that I blessed for you each day after watching for what the stories you are going to info as you posted the loved emotions for some of my comments by the different information about it like the how to treat parents well to see how your days were with them happily & feeling tears of joys too.
@@lifeinruralthailand That make sense for me including my dad to treat our family well by not making them feels sad or mad as those were done by me first then is my dad by understanding my comments informations to let him know. That's why we're the special supporters by your decisions then changes by our own way to make our family feel glad including some of the important information that you posted too.
Hi Ryan. I guess I've been watching your videos from pretty well the beginning. This video brought back alot of memories of your journey with the family for me too. It's a warm-hearted retrospective that says it all. Best to you and the family as always. Regards from Murray in Canada.
You and your wife are what all parents should strive for. Buddah Omm Blessings Health , prosperity, Laughter, Comfort, Grace, Guidance to you and all that surrounds you and to us all.
Wow so emotional and raw 😢❤ i cried so much during this one. I was watching videos just as you came back to Thailand and didn't realise you were stuck in the UK away from your family. It must have been so hard to get to know eachother again and adjust, but it's testamont to yours and Damo's relationship and your beautiful souls ❤️ I laughed watching the handmade shower.. i absolutely loved it and has inspiried me so much to live like that - so simple.. however, i had the memory of Damo not liking the window you built and could never understand that haha! I've watched a few vloggers but have never been so invested and passionate as i am watching you all. I wish you only success, health, wealth and happiness. Genuinely would be a dream to meet you all oneday too - i want Damo to teach me how to make coconut sticky rice 😊 love your rants, honesty, tips, insights, raw thoughts, family life, farm life, traditional events.. keep going.. cant wait to see the new project (new house/bnb) come together in the future 🙏 love and light to you all ❤️✨ P.s more singing Ryan on videos to end credits - literally feel "high" listening to you!
Great video, I think I've been following and then subscribing for over 3 years and it's fascinating because your channel is quite intimate by letting us into your life. Can't be an easy thing to do but glad to be on the ride with you guys. Keep up the great work.
Firstly, congratulations on the fourth-year anniversary of @lifeinruralthailand🎉. Secondly, I may be a new subscriber here, but I really enjoy and love every minute of every vlog so far, and The Naked Guru channel too😍🤩, but it's a different feeling-a bit of learning, sharing, and discussing things. On @lifeinruralthailand, I've only gotten to the part about building the major house and plan to watch all of them to see through because I feel comfy, enjoy and have a clear mind with your speech and soundtrack also the views, although I may have slept on it sometimes😅. And lastly, I hope you and your family are well because the weather right now in Thailand is super hot.
Hey Ryan and Mo you steal my plan.😂 All the best for you, in a few years i'll come with my wife to Thailand and will live there Till the end. I love the home from my wife.
I started watching when you were in quarantine, I wanted to travel to Thailand during that time, I don’t comment often but it’s been exciting and informative watching your journey
It might sound a little sad but i watched this and felt a massive sense of pride in your success story. Its almost like you did it and broke free of your chains. Beautiful journey, beautiful family and a fulfilling existence. Very inspirational. Thank you for sharing. 🙏
We have lived in Hua Hin 7 month per year in 16 year Soon it's time to do it forever No more go and back, Thailand will be our home Good luck to you and your family
Lovely so nice to see back your journey I didn't miss any video saw every one and enjoy watching all of your videos you have a beautiful family God bless you all always 🙏 ❤️ ❤❤
Nice recap! As you know I was right after you in the Park Plazza BKK. It’s been great coming along the journey with you and Damo. So glad you came back to the farm. Thanks for sharing you family! ❤️
Yes have enjoyed all the episodes of your lives as you know from all my comments..555 You and Damo have not aged , matured of course, yet seem much more at peace and happy since I started watching. Always look forward to seeing the children grow, play , and hang out with you and Damo as it brings back memories. Cannot think of anything profound or advice as your path and journey seems smart and right in this day and age. Just keep on keepin on guys! Peace and Love Y'all
Hi Ryan and Damo think I found your channel around the time you built the outdoor shower so not sure how long exactly hat was anyways it’s been great to watch all your videos I’ve enjoyed watching everyone of them and seeing Otis growing up on the farm and little Hugo coming along and seeing him grow up happy 4 th birthday to the channel may it have many more happy years as you as a family continue to make it possible thank you to you all 🍰
Always love your story Ryan❤ Great watching your family grow and prosper! We live vicariously through you and thank you for sharing your journey with us 🙏🏼 Have a great week 😊
Followed you for about 3 years. I had no idea you lived in a place near where my wife went to high school and we visit the reunions. Covid was a difficult time for us with our long stay home rental business. I really don't understand the haters and trolls. I used to be a moderator on a high profile Thai forum. So many crazies. Some sad, sick, or just dark people. As a mod for 6 years i saw the real dark side. Good luck to you and your happy little band.
You are both very brave to take such risks in times of uncertainty. But you made a wise decision, when your health is at risk, it is worth doing. Remember the old saying,' Your health is your wealth.' Nothing could be truer! The time you get to spend with your children, is time well spent, for both them and you. You both have worked very hard, and deserve every success!!!!😊
What an incredible journey you have both had. Happiness and children away from the rat race are so valuable! At least one parent usually misses out on this. Well done, guys!
Congratulations Ryan and Mo, I have enjoyed your videos and journey for a long time now and it was fun to see some of the old footage and think yeah I remember that video. Good luck to another 4 years and more.
That was a fun recap. I can't actually recall exactly when RU-vid first served up your channel. But I do recall being excited to each week to discover if this "city kid" (so to speak) could make it in the countryside. I was really hoping you would make it, because if you can do it, then I can do it, one day :) Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us. It has been nice to have a somewhat "real" (as in not manufactured/fake/dramatized) RU-vid channel to follow.
Excellent Vlog Ryan, I think what you said at the end sums it up nicely, the compromise of giving up a corporate life to have a more moderate life and be able too spend quality time with each other and the kids was and is the most important and best thing you have done. In this life time is and always will be the most important thing any of us possess and what better way too spend that time than with the ones you love
Great video Ryan! It’s nice to see a recap of the last few years. I remember discovering your channel during COVID, while my wife and I were stuck in Australia, waiting for her visa approval and the travel restrictions to lift. She ended up spending three years in Australia before we could return to Thailand. Thank you for sharing your experiences; you guys have inspired us to pursue a different way of life. I can very much relate to your feelings about working in the corporate world. After 14 years of giving my blood, sweat, and tears to a career in banking, I just felt burned out and lacked the energy to continue. Keep up the great content.
Really enjoyed this retrospective vlog. You both have worked so hard and yes, given up some of life’s luxuries but the pay off has been so worth it from what I can see. Hats off to you all ❤️
@lifeinruralthailand thank you both, Ryan and Damo for a short summary of this part of your lives together. As I only discovered your channel 3 weeks ago while looking for something different to learn more about life in Thailand, I decided to start viewing your vlogs from about 18 months ago, otherwise, I thought, it would take too long to catch up to your new vlogs. It's a shame that you haven't done Thai subtitles, though I saw you did do a small number. If there were Thai subtitles, I might have suggested to my Thai ladyfriend watch also, as we contemplate life together in Thailand in the near future
Just found your channel. Looks like you’re on an adventure. Good luck. I’m kind of stuck here in the United States. Wish I would’ve did something like this when I was younger. I do plan to visit Thailand. I was there when I was in the military years ago ago. I’m sure it’s changed now.
I came in during just as you were installing the bamboo hut. 😮 don’t think I have missed an episode since. I have a son and daughter in law in Thailand we need to come visit again soon. Maybe when hot season is over. Much love for your work and family.
Beautiful video. Amazing you can live rural For me I like the city more. But you live very beautiful with beautiful family. Greetings from nonthanburi.
