Its a R-22 unit, and you have you gauge set at R-410

Extra charge if h/o was messing with it prior. When I had the misfortune of working with Sears, most customers thought they would automatically get a new unit after several call outs and their system was a dinosaur, but no and is pissed them off, Sears would have us install a compressor or other components just to get it going, Bumped into several Janitrol units that we had on life support.

Do you ever use 407C as a drop in replacement for 22? I replaced my evaporator coil this year in my Goodman R22 system and I refilled with 407C. Been working like a champ. I think I paid about $580 for a tank of 407C.

If compressor has mineral oil it won't be working long , if you didn't add some poe oil

I only use 407C, but I remove all the old R22. I never mix refrigerants. Also, I've never added POE oil and never had a problem with 407C - been doing it for years in both commercial and residential jobs. I prefer to pay more and go back with R22, but if the customer's budget doesn't allow, I'll use 407C. Lastly, I always replace the filter drier and pull a vacuum.

@WWHVAC 407c will not work with mineral oil alone the oil will not go back to the compressor will stay in evaporater, thats a proven fact

If I see refrigerant residue or signs of leaking valves, I will. Or if I take the cap off and hear pressure build-up. But normally, I don't right away.

@Hvacnc Just apply to all the warranty companies and work with the ones that are the best fit for you. Some are good, and some are not so good. Different regions have different companies and territory managers, so it’s hard to say which would be best for you.

Yes, out of those pack of dogs, the large black one was the best companion. That turd in the yard was simple a nervous wreck but homeowner should have come outside and given the mutt some attention and relax. Good call on the condenser. What was the coil fins on that, a few rows were missing several inches? Compressor started normally from the sounds of it...yep, chugging along it will for years.

Some warranty companies provide both email and phone numbers. I always call and schedule directly with the homeowner. I give them a 3-hour window for my arrival. For example, if I schedule them for 12 p.m., I let them know I'll be there between 12 and 3 p.m. I use my CRM software, Jobber, which sends email and text notifications 2 hours prior to the visit and another when I'm on my way. Additionally, most warranty companies have a portal where I confirm that I’ve contacted the homeowner and the date and time of the appointment. Always contact someone before arriving, or you risk not getting paid.

If a customer doesn't pay, I simply won't do business with them anymore. If it's a significant amount and they're not a recurring customer, I'll require a credit card on file and a deposit.
