Big Nick loved the tips. He was very successful with pick off this past season. He said he’s looking forward to using the sequences this year. Thank you coach.
the 2020 Game 6 WS situation was with Snell, Betts and Cash. Cash is a believer in taking off starters after 2 times through the order, however Snell gets better the more he faces the same hitter in each game, he actually has a lower batting average against every time through, and Betts gets worse the more he faces the same pitcher in the same game. so Cash made the wrong decision for the situation with Snell and Betts, even though it would have been the better choice for majority of other pitchers and batters
Small addition. To avoid the foot crossing the rubber dilemma, a pitcher I played with modified his leg kick so that the lower half of his leg angled down and away from his body so when he lifted to throw either a pitch or a pickoff his knee would coil back and cross over the rubber his foot wouldnt ever. Very rarely seen it done that way but multiple times in his career he picked off 3 runners in 1 inning no lie.
Hey I got a question about pitching. I recently for my first game of the season pitched 6 innings with 14 strikeouts. I’m a lefty and the next day my right side collar bone is aching. Is that normal? Just wondering cuz my shoulder and back is sore but I’ve never had my collar bone be sore
Watch the clip on velocity and accuracy. Then take some pics and recordings of you pitching off the mound in practice. Analyze your form and see if you are doing anything with your wind up, follow through, etc.
My son just broke the record for pick offs in his freshman year of high school. Every game he pitched he will have at least one pick off... It was electrifying atmosphere as soon as he did it.
