Erica Sharp yeah i agree with you i really got dissapointed at alaric for doing that to hope, like she lost her parents and she has no one left and she's Trying to heal from the grieving and then alaric hits her with those words it's like he riped opened a wound she so desparately tried to close

@Apex Shotz Exactly she's lost her parents and he even admitted to his daughter Lizzy that Hope's lost alot which made her afraid to care. I know Alaric thinks of Hope as a daughter and his trying to keep her on the right path. But there's more to being a father figure then just taking care of looking after and given attention on teaching and training Hope. He need to show her the same amount of affection you do his own and he doesn't. Alaric may spend most of the time with Hope. But while he disappoints his own daughters he still constantly showing them affection. He tells them he loves them gives them hugs. That's what Hope needs most right now after becoming a orphan. He could've dissaplend Hope for the black magic thing without bringing up her dead father. Hope looks up to Alaric and might see him as a parent figure. But that dont mean that she never doubts his love. Even after Klaus her birth father told her he loves her she still had doubts up till the end. The scene after they killed dragon lady when Alaric was done yelling at Hope he left the poor girl alone to buried dragon lady. I know he was upset. But you dont bring up a past to a young still hurt over it then leaves her alone with any ounce of affection. What bottered me most more then Alaric bringing up Klaus name the way he did is that his shown her no affection afterwards or even before. Like I said protecting and treating her as his own isn't enough if affection is not involve. By affection I mean hugs and letting Hope know how much he cares. I know he went to check on his daughters and hug them because after reading Ladons letter to Hope her realised how much his hurt his daughters. The thing about him saying what he said about Hope as if she would've actually went through with the death spell is the fact he should realised that if she was like her father she would've went through with it and Landon would be no more. Also she struggled on killing dragon lady. Or did Alraic forget about that. Hope ripping death spell out of book and bringing it with her doesn't mean that she would've actually used it. Shes too good hearted. Having hatred and revenge on mind dont count to her becoming like her father if she don't actually act on it. If Hope where gonna use it she would have instead all she did was toss Ladon into a wall.

I agree and I feel sorry for hope. I don't think anyone will love her as much as hayley and klaus did but alaric is taking care of her ,the thing he doesn't show her that he loves her .

Other than Landon, the only time she hugged anyone when she NEEDED a hug (she hugged people in a "omg ur alive" "I'm sorry" or a "thank u" way a few times but her NEEDING one is RARE) was a total of 3 times all in season 2 When she got back from Malivore and saw Josie n Landon together she was broken and it took a LOT but when Landon gave her the peanut butter blast whipped cream on the bottom milkshake and told her he had no idea why he ordered it - she BROKE DOWN and went to Alaric. She finally told him she knows he doesn't remember her but he is the closest thing she had to a father now and she hugged him and he hugged her back while she cried thank God because he knew Malivore would earse people's existence and could tell she needed it. The second time was ALSO Josie when Josie gave everyone their memories of her back and she proceeded to ask Josie if it was okay with her if she came back to the school. When Josie told her it was okay n it's her home n she should of course she hugged her because she needed it and got her friends back n Josie she was closest to Then it was when Josie hit her aunt Freya with the spell to purge malivores black magic effect from her mind and make her remember Hope and it knocked Freya out but she woke up and got to mystic falls that NIGHT to see her niece and the look on Hope's face was heartbreaking because she NEEDED her aunt and finally had her remember her

I think the reason wht Hayley wasn't in the picture is because she was the one who was taking it that time. I could totally see her insist that the Mikkaelsons (all by blood) should have a picture together for Hope to cherish and remember as she grows up that she is a Mikkaelson, a part of always and forever. Of course, there is a possibility that the leaker luckily only predicted episodes 1 & 2 right and the rest will be bullshit. Though, the promo for episode 3 indicated that things the leaker made up, will happen. Also, some of Plec's interviews have already confirmed some of the things the leaker has leaked for later episodes, and some interviews strongly indicate that a few other things will also go as the leaker has predicted. What I'm saying that we all though the leaker was full of shit until the things started to go exactly as the leaker had "foretold".

Rachel Grubman it’s worse because elena had her aunt Jenna and bonnie, Jeremy, Matt and Caroline and that was before meeting Stefan and Damon. But hope feels so alone has lost her mum, dad, uncle, and the rest of the family is scattered and will probably die out. On top of that she has no friends, the poor girl is going through so much pain.

Probably because that moment was about Klaus not Hayley. Rikk made Hope realise that she was becoming her father something she promise Klaus she wouldn't be. She had promised to do right by their name and make him proud. But by what she's doing she's breaking that promise.

Well she never really had any kind of relationship with him. He let his prejudice with his sibling and his parents get in the way of being an uncle to Hope.
