I haven't been catching up in the show but I'm pretty sure it's to help the plot, I mean the episode wouldn't be that interesting if hope just snapped her fingers along with a chant and boom monster gone Also, she is still young, and last time I check the school doesn't allow her to learn offensive magic so all she knows is what Freya taught her. She can only know so much

@@annalyssaloya3751 and the fact that she is the mosy powerful being doesn't mean there are not any other powerful witches. Jossie siphoned tons of black magic, hense she was op. Or freya, bonnie, davina etc. All powerful witches. The difference is that Hope's tribrid nature makes herbetter at withstanding the pressure of using a lot of magic. As Bonnie said in s2 tvd using too much magic can kill a witch. Unless Hopw turns into a tribrid she will never be that all powerful witch of the prophecy

I agree I remember the originals and how savage it is with lots of killing and cool fight scenes.Hope is barely being a witch and not even being a vampire or werewolf
