Ring is a real blast from the past and I've often wondered why people don't use it thesedays. I suspect the 1 life it keeps costing you for mana is more relevant given the quality of threats thesedays, and 2 damage is an awkward number in the face of Dragon's Rage Channeler, whereas Punishing Fire can be doubled up more easily and is a more reliable removal spell since you don't need Threshold. Also, with Urza's Saga taking up space in the deck, it's tighter on lands and the creatures from Saga often invalidate your opponent's creatures anyway. Now do I like Barbarian Ring and want to try it again, kicking it old school style? Very much so :D
@@crucible_of_words it was a great learning experience. I just picked up my tabernacle. Just need 4 sphere of resistance to finish it off. Looking for more gameplay as this is one of the decks I’m dedicating myself to learning
@@LazyJukebox I used to play a lot of lands a long time ago when it was running Gamble and didn't have things like Saga as an option. The adjustment to Saga is quite a lot and I'm also a bit rusty, but some of the old brain power is still there at least :). Suffice to say, I've been making 20/20's one way or another for many years hehe
