I'm loving this recent comeback of regular reviews.

Also, tip about the kickstand, it's best to flip it out about 45 degrees during Transformation so it's easier to access when he's already in bike mode. It doesn't get in the way of him rolling, and it makes things much easier.

I've mentioned that I'm not the biggest "Animated" fan, but I appreciate the love fans have for it, if that makes sense. I did buy most of the line a few years ago, and I recently put up the last of it up for sale. Those originals toys are great, though some of the gimmicks do get in the way for a few of them. That's why I really appreciate these new figures, because there's no gimmickry to get in the way. Granted, both Prowl figures were incredible, but I still really like this new one. It made me really want new figures of the more gimmick laden originals, like Starscream, helicopter Megatron, Blurr, Bulkhead, and Lugnut.

I really like this figure, the slightly bulkier look makes me think of Samurai Prowl, except you don't need a sidecar to make armor for him.

I am glad to see Internet Personality Vangelus return, and I am also glad to watch a review of a remake of a figure that literally introduced me to this channel. I hope we get more Animated line figures.

There is a legitimate groove in his right hand, specifically for the tip of a blade

the samurai armour honestly hinders him as much as it helps, the helmet is immense to cover up his already big dome, and really limits the head movement. It does look pretty cool though, and the new weapons are neat

baffled how anyone ever thought this was a retool of legacy prime arcee.

My opinion of this figure was vastly improved...by buying a sidecar that covers up most of his aesthetics. I like his transformation and his joints but that aesthetic is hard to get past, I'm glad they dialed the Animated up for Bee and Prime, shame this one needs an addon to feel right to me at least

When I first got the figure, the throwing stars on my copy also didn't really work, but now they work perfectly, and I have no idea why. I don't know what I did, but now they just slide open and closed like butter. Other than that, I've loved all the animated legacy stuff, (I honorarily include Legacy Prime Bulkhead, in that). More than any other figures I bought since I started collecting, these have made me feel the way I did when I was a kid and animated first came out, aside from the actual animated figures I've been back collecting. I bought the DNA designs samurai upgrade kit and it works like a dream.

DNA's thing was somewhere between fair and good depending on the elements you're looking at. I look forward to Prowl's retool joining the parade of Chromias failing to top her T30 toy.

I love this figure. Looks fantastic and plays well. I think people get bent up because it's not shaped exactly like the show, but.. uh, shut up. He's not supposed to. This is more of an homage if anything, not trying to adhere the the show's aesthetic but rather fit in with the more G1-adjacent designs. And they nailed it from proportions to head sculpt. He's awesome.

Vangelus is the only reviewer whose videos I watch even when I already own the toy

Cringe: skirting around the existence of Autotroopers because Kiss Players Based: acknowledging that Kiss Players happened anyway and getting over it.

This figure is great but they should have made him a Voyager to begin with including the traffic light and sidecar. Maybe they'll do another accessory pack. There are so many missing Beast Wars character accessories that they could fill two packs with those alone.

It's been interesting seeing which reviewers like/dislike this figure. I didn't grow up with Animated, but I think this toy is a really cool reinterpretation. I do wish the throwing stars were executed better though.

And yeah this Prowl is cool. Wonder if someone would do an upgrade for his sidecar armor? Edit: Oh I didn't wait til the end to comment. There is a sidecar! yay!

Man, its weird to see a review for a remake of Animated Prowl after having been introduced to Vangelus's reivews through the ORIGINAL Animated toy reviews. XD I hate to be one of Those Guys because this Prowl is a solid toy, but it and Legacy Bulkhead feel like they missed the mark on the original designs some. Im glad Bumblebee and Prime managed to get more of that Animated "oomf". And hey, the mold is damn solid--I'm on pins and needles for the Chromia retool so I can put her next to her girlfriend Legacy Windblade :)

This figure was my second favorite figure of 2023 and my 5th favorite in my collection so far. He's absolutely amazing and now I want Legacy Chromia lol.

The breakdown of how this design leans much more highway patrol than ninja helped make it click for me, though only so far as to still distinguish this as being more of an AU-"Reno 911" Prowl, rather than actual Series Prowl 😅 New Boot Goofin'! 👢 As a side note- being an avid viewer of your videos, I feel like I've got the timing down to where, if I'm turned away from the screen, I know when to look back for a camera quip to come on, lol

I still own the original Animated Prowl, and I'm quite satisfied with it

Do wonder who's idea in Hasbro team was to use Legacy Animated Prowl mold to make Cyberverse Chromia which has rattled fans in negative and positive way as it doesn't come across as The Cyberverse Chromia. Me, Hasbro could have use some retooling/remolding and chance of weapons; chance throwing stars to gun. Other then that, when I saw those first leaked pics of Legacy United CV Chromia before her official Hasbro release; I admit liking it even despite my nitpicks.

I figured out that you need to spin the center of the ninja star as opposed to pulling on the blades to extend it.

The throwing stars are actually fixable, but the fix requires a soldering iron and I know most people aren't willing to go through that much effort to fix something that should've worked out of the box

I think this is a fine Ani Prowl, very fine indeed The Chromia repaintool however, wears everything so much better - despite itself not being even remotely close to the Cyberverse design it's repping but it's like a magic moment of realising, that sometimes it's just the right combo of colours and style that make a toy sing rather than it hitting any specific nostalgia or redo notes - and thats largely why also i think Legacy Ani Prowl is very fine indeed S'just a nice lil bike man (but Chromia still slays)

The throwing stars are copied from MMC Terminus Hexatron (who also had them imbedded in his wheels), but not as well executed on Prowl.

I would've been able to accept this Prowl being aesthetically-different, if it weren't for the engineering issues being greater than the original. The OG is 15 years old now, and even if it was black magic at the time, you'd think Hasbro'd be able to replicate the transformation perfectly today. But, nope: his bike just leaves the entire pelvis exposed on the sides, along with the extremely ugly shoulder joints. On the original, the shoulders seamlessly blended into the bike's form, and his back wing thingamabobs *perfectly* covered up his thighs and pelvis in bike mode. That combined with the shameful throwing stars, and I just can't help seeing this as inferior to the original, even artstyle aside. And again, I would've been able to accept this artstyle had they been consistent with it - it wouldn't have been for me, but I could've dealed with it. But now with OP and Bumblebee, it's like they're riding this bizarre line of "just barely animation-accurate, but still not quite" that feels totally unsatisfying. Why bother being so close, but slapping some needless greebling on anyway? Just do a full Generations-ification at that point, like what was done for Prowl. ...Or go fully animation-accurate like the original toyline, which's what I was hoping for in the first place, but, whatever.

Something about these Legacy figures just hasn't been doing it for me. Like proportions or sculpting are ever so slightly off from my ideal aesthetics. I guess it not the worst thing in the world to NOT want to go out and buy every new release, but at the same time I miss that feeling from Titans Return or Siege.

While this figure isn't bad by any means, I still wish Hasbro had just gone for full screen accuracy instead of merging G1 into the figure.

Man... I don't think I ever saw a single Legacy Evolution deluxe at retail... it's like that whole line just skipped Canadian retail.

i'll never understand the rationale behind making the character look drastically different from how they're meant to in the line targeted to collectors if this same mold came out in like, i dunno, thrilling 30, i'd just say "ok cool it's CHUG prowl", but when his wave mates are all slavish G1 recreations and homages it kinda pisses me off just a little bitty bit.

It's G1-ification makes it not worth buying.
