See what British had done to the Indians , ship them to foreign land against their will , they didn't have no choice but got to go , leaving their family behind , but today through technology we are trying to find our roots in India . Love from Fiji

This is super cool to watch. I'm from Durban, South Africa. Durban is the largest predominantly Indian city outside of India. My ancestors came here around the same time that other Indians went to the West Indies and Mauritius... and to do the same (work on the Sugar Cane Plantations). I am also very curious about the cultures and lifestyles of my Indian brothers and sisters in other parts of the world. Not recent migrants, but third or fourth generation Indians in other places that our forefathers went to around the 1840's-1850's. Peace and love to you all.

Heyy! So I'm a Indo Trini and I could tell you that a lot of the Indian culture have been... Somewhat integrated. Food and music especially-- but the language have been disappear. Only the Hindu priest can speak the language. Guyana had a little more Indian influence in their country. Ik the Fiji islands Indian have kept there Indian culture. Food, language and overall culture is strong 💪

Despite their humble appearances , the dialect they spoke was bhojpuri, and it was called the language of the revolutionary or the soldiers voice. All our indian bloodlines have been speaking hindi much longer than we have english, its all in side you. You just have to make a sacrifice for them, as they did for you. Its a shame contemporary view holds them to be sub human. When the history is taught this way it makes it look like all this happened for a benevolent reason

The ancient greeks were made of four tribes. Their science came from the Ionians, Trinidad has alot of similarities to Ionia. It is on this small Island that the model of unity was forged, Ideas to fight all slave nations You have to make your sacrifice and create your own history, impose yur will. Why do we sit and think everything needs to be given to us. Our ancestors never had the easy way out, why do you fall victim to it?

You do know enslaved Africans were doing farmwork even prior to the industrial revolution with machinary to aid production, and were successfully doing so right? Post emancipation the british did Not want to pay the Africans a fair wage, hence indentureship.

It was of their tenacity and sacrifice only. As for the religion, how do we account for braminism? I mean wehave the rigidity of the vedas and also the authority of it, but at its core is that sanatan dharma. An edict about old wars from 3000 years ago? If that is the religion , then by all means we have that
@Shirvannn

it was illegal for them to read write or own land, they really had no way of teaching us. In their one genius sacrifice they left India. this is the single greatest decision of their lives. We are a new type of indian, a new flourishing tribe. If one really wants to connect to the genome given to him by the universe can easily learn hindi nowadays. I made friends from India and it became an easier process.

The language loss: another British issue. If you didn't know English, your chances of getting a job was nil.. so the elders wanted their children to learn English in order to progress and hence the loss of the mother tongue.. today, most of the doctors, lawyers, teachers are of Indian origin......🙂🙂🇺🇸

Yes. By far. We have maintained the language culture and religion better.We also have developed Fiji with the native Fijians to become a stable country.Yes Fijian Indians have done far betted despite having less population.If you think that this is completely opinion based look at the statistics and information yourself.

Caribbean Indians are by far more educated, well known, and prosperous if that's what you mean. Also, at least in Jamaica, many business groups and castes later came like Sindhis, Gujaratis, and Punjabis. Caribbean Indians are very successful in America, the UK, and Canada and have homes on the islands. I am not putting Fijis down, but Caribbeans are definitely doing their thing. We are very proud people and will continue succeeding.

@@artlover4375 .... how are Caribbean Indians, successful in UK, US & Canada... don't see their names on professional lists.. they migrate to these places, and live like they would on the islands.... their children don't attend universities etc... unlike, them the Indians from India do educate themselves and their children. The few Fijians I know are education oriented...the Indians in Trinidad are also educated, most are professionals...🙂🙂🙂‼

I once knew a brahmin who hated Trinidad and all its free people In her lonliness she plotted to rule by fear ,dogma, and misinformation Like all othe brahmins she was supposedly better than the lot because her last name was Maharaj. To believe such dribble, is too worship stupidity. The spirit of India has nothing to do with that religion and personally i do not even believe in atma jiva. Being indian is the death of Ego and self, it is an effigy a continual sacrifice. We are the living culture
