Maybe Now I know I love him so much!😂😂 My school performed the musical for legally blonde and this really cute guy played Emmett and he was perfect for the part! He's a really good actor and singer and he's really funny!
I love the movie and the musical too, they're both great. It's just that they're about different things. In the film, the focus is on Elle and her alone proving how much she's worth, the romance is just something of an aside. I actually like that, I mean swapping one dude for another would sort of diminish what the story was about, that's why it didn't get more emphasis.The broadway show is a romantic comedy. Nothing wrong with, of course, but its got a slightly different focus.
I was first introduced to Legally Blonde when my high school performed it. I loved it so much that I went to see the movie and... was disappointed honestly. There are a couple things the movie does differently that work arguably better than the musical, the main one being in the movie Elle decides on her own to succeed at Harvard while Elle in the musical doesnt really care until Emmett motivates her. I understand why that it irks some people (it did for me, that was the one thing I didn't like about the musical) but even though Emmett motivates her, Elle goes on to prove herself multiple times without Emmett's help. He was more of a catalyst for actually caring about Harvard. I also dont believe that developing the romance more devalues Elle's character in the musical at all. I personally really loved it, it is leaps and bounds above what was presented in the movie. I dont have a desire to re-watch the movie because I actually find it mean-spritird and catty. I haven't grown to like the actors and characters in general in the movie. But the musical magnifies the very best elements of the movie and truly transforms it into a heart-warming story. Is it corny? Yes, but I love it. Everytime I watch it I feel good and extra motivated to be the best person of myself.
@@rkah6187 I see it as less romantic comedy more establishing and solidifying emmet and elle's chemistry with each other as opposed to the movie where emmet and elle hang out twice maybe thrice but the movie still insisted they end up with each other. Also "immediately swapping dudes" is an overstatement as well, just because they were both "romantically available" in one scene together doesn't mean they are immediately a couple. Emmet saw a struggling student and saw himself in her and pushes her to discover her self-worth back until she was strong enough to stand for herself, it wasn't until "take it like a man" he started to evaluate what he was feeling. granted in some cases the movie did better in doing elle's independence better but we are talking about their relationship here, and in reality we people are often blinded by desires and can need a push every now and then. Besides elle's "badassery" wasn't diminished. that is my two cents on the matter.

How did I just realize this -- Elle *Woods* and Emmett *Forrest* -- his last name is different in the musical (was Richmond in the movies) but the woods/forest connection foreshadows that they will be together
He doesn't even think of her as a friend yet, but when he says "I want that sweatshirt back" you can see Elle get a little bubbly and just I love that smile, this cast is amazing
Every young girl should watch this. A great example of a man that cares about someone he's getting feelings for as a person and human before how pretty she is.
This makes me want a boyfriend/girlfriend more than any other love songs. I mean I love Christian and the way he is happy because she is successful is so charming to me.
Did you guys notice that in 0:42 he calls Warner a man because he doesn't know who he is. But in 7:50, he calls him a guy. Kind of like calling him a boy, but more subtly?
This part of the musical is always so inspiring! It gives me chills every time!!😍 Emmett is so much like my older brother because he's always giving me great advice and inspiring me to study harder get my work done which is really good. And it's so catchy when Emmett and Elle sing😍 And the part when Emmett says "I haven't slept since 1992"😂 I wasn't even alive then but I still feel him😂 I just love the part when they first meet in the movie and then they propose at the end of the movie! Legally Blonde will always be one of my favorite movies and musicals!❤
Who else thinks the part when Emmett sings is super catchy?😍 Also is it just me or at the beginning of the song, the background music kind of sounds like a right tone on a phone? Because it sort of does to me
Elle Broadway Omg yesssss!!😍💕 The whole musical (and movie) is so inspiring and entertaining at the same time! Great advice for being successful! My school just performed the musical and it's got to be one of the best performances we've ever done!❤ The songs are all so beautiful and inspiring sometimes I can't stop singing them out loud haha!

I really love the guy He says what he thinks but is not too disrespectful Plus I love the line I have a chip on my shoulder the size of boulder I really wanna be like this guy lol
there are a lot of ways that this musical captures the frenetic atmosphere of both the film and courtroom culture but one of the most captivating ways (that the actors all execute incredibly well) is the was they interrupt each other in song. like in this clip when elle goes "well why did you come" as a way of being like "you don't need to condescend me to make your point"
I'm glad that Emmett gets this number pretty much to himself. Emmett, to me, is a pretty thankless role. Yeah, he gets some great lines, but most of the time he's just Elle's straight man.
Listening to this inbetween my breaks while studying for Persons and Family Relations in my first sem first year of law school. Gives me the inspiration that I need, i dont care what other people might say. Also Emmett x El forever

I'm such a musical nerd...sometimes when I'm out running (like a 5k or so), and I didn't feel like bringing my phone with, I'll go through this entire song in my head...it's great cause it's a long song! lol.
Honestly i love the whole first part of elles room its weirdly fun Also this scene is great in the musical the song and everything but I think its better in the movie where Elle Motivates herself to study hard
