Cassie could have gotten the understudy I mean the lead will be performing like all day every day and she might need a sick day Cassie just couldn’t stop being selfish
I did understudy once and while I wish I got to do the role of Callahan on one of my school performance nights, I ultimately didn't mind. Besides I stepped in four times in rehearsals previously so that was good enough for me. I also did ensemble a few times and I have to admit it was fun nonetheless.
“I don’t do girls! I don’t talk to girls! I don’t have girl friends!!” You’re the antithesis of Elle Woods and should’ve been sent home the first round.
Celina was all like "yeah I may not be fit for elle but maybe i am for other things, thank you for your critique and advice bye" and i am so glad she was so mature and didnt make the drama.
How could she not want to be the understudy. Obviously its not as amazing as getting the lead, but its still an incredible opportunity and way better than nothing!
@@chix296 Yes, but the thing is, this is no normal audition, this is a lead role on broadway that they are literally spending a month, every single day trying to get 😂
Autumn and Celina were so respectful and like "Oh it's not my best performance" or "Maybe it's just not my part" yet Cassie was like "I DESERVE BETTER I WANT TO BE A STAAAAAAR!"
Savannah Orozco not to mention that she’s extremely annoying and it comes through in her acting. If I was seeing Legally Blonde I would just be annoyed the whole time if she was in it.
Cassie’s like “I haven’t even seen this material before doesn’t that say something?” And I’m thinking girl, this is why you’re in the bottom 3 because you don’t know what you’re doing 🙄
Cassie in the start: "Elle Woods and me have the exact same personality" Cassie now: "I don't do girls i don't know girls" "i haven't seen the material"
Celina is such a queen for being so open about just sharing with her fellow girls how she felt about the situation with Cassie. props to her for trying to fix things
FOR REAL THOUGH SHE WASNT TRYNA TALK BEHIND HER BACK (like Cassie lmao) SHE WAS UPFRONT AND HONEST TO CASSIE AND SHE TOOK IT IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE (also sorry for this but uhhh,,, heyyy Jazzyyyy I watch your videos cuz they’re cool sorry-)
Little did Celina know back then that she would become Lena Hall and win a Tony just 6 years later... she may not have been the right choice for "Elle Woods," but she is just fantastic. She knows 100% who she is and she owns the hell out of it. She's a star. And I love watching her friendship with Autumn, they're so cute
Celina was so mature at the moment she was cut. She showed she is a very strong person and that she is confident in her talent. Good for her. I admire her attitude.
“What’s the best way to have chemistry?” “MaKe OuT” ...literally 2 seconds later “I think I really have an advantage now that me and Blake have chemistry”😂😂😂😂
everyone else is working just as hard as Cassie if not more. she can’t say she doesn’t want to be the understudy. most people make their broadway debut as an understudy.
Also...people don't realize how often the understudies actually get to perform. 8 nights a week really takes a LOT out of people. And sometimes the understudy needs to perform. It happens a lot.
Then Celina/Lena goes on to win a Tony award. Something that even the OG Elle Woods couldnt accomplish. Just goes to show ya, rejection is not always a bad thing.
I wonder if Cassie s had replied to “you’d make a good swinger/understudy” with something positive like “that’d be amazing” like most people would say, if she’d have been given a part in the ensemble after being cut 🤔
I love how Autumn is the most mature. She doesn't get involved in any of the drama and is really kind to the other girls. She also has an incredible voice!
Cassie was like "I worked my butt off, I deserve it" and all but what she doesn't get is that it's not only about how talented you are but also about how you match the part well, and in her case she didn't. Plus she doesn't want to be a swing or understudy like, doing that on broadway is such an honor and the fact that she doesn't appreciate that means that she doesn't deserve it.
Yeah Cassie's attitude just got more and more frustrating. I was already tired of her being so defensive about everything but then when she started being argumentative with the judges about being good for backup roles, I was totally done with her. And then her closing monologue is even more fatalistic. "I didn't win first place and get praised because I'm trying just as hard as everyone else, so it's all over for me" is how that sounded. Like, no, take what you've learned and go try harder somewhere else, welcome to the competition that is life. And the "I didn't get the chance to show them" language she was using was ridiculous too, she got the same chance everybody else did. Her attitude was the only thing holding her back, and if she goes nowhere from that point forward, her attitude will be the reason why.
I didn't like Emma at first, but she really did a good job here ^^ I think she's amazing, even if she talks more about "business" and looks down at the others, but I would imagine her as Regina George in Mean Girls, she can be so mean !
before you comment, just remember that this is HEAVILY edited to make cassie s a villain, and all of the girls vouched for her and her character in the reunion. even if you think she is in the wrong, please remember that she was literally a teenager thrown into a huge world and maybe coped with it a little worse than some of the other girls, so be kind
Google "Emma Zaks" if you want to know what she's been through in the years since this competition! (spoiler: after this, Emma's had some more success on Broadway - she's one of the girls who already had Bway credits before the Legally Blonde audition - and later she became a very popular Soul Cycle instructor. Then, when she had some health problems in 2015 that her doctors dismissed, Emma went public about it, to help let other young women know that you can't just shut up & listen to doctors who tell you "it's nothing," when you're sure something is truly wrong with your body (Emma was right, the docs were wrong, and as a result she got a diagnosis that let her get treatment and recover, so today she's in great shape)
Cassie was in Matilda when I seen the show and I met her afterwards and she was honestly the sweetest, kindest person! I was so shocked watching this series because her personality in real life is so lovely! I guess she's grown up a lot and matured (plus i'm guessing this show is quite highly edited haha!) :)
Yeah, they highly edited to make her meaner and a bad singer. They recently had a zoom meetup and the whole cast talked about how the Cassie was actually really nice. She was a great singer and they all pointed out the great qualities of Cassie. That’s the thing with reality tv, they can edit it. A lot.
Celina was so great full for what she got out of this experience and she had such a positive attitude, it was really refreshing to see her talk about what she learnt
In the first two episodes I sympathized heavily with Cassie, but the way she reacted to everything in this episode makes me a little mad. Being unappreciative of understudies, never having seen the material prior to auditioning, and expecting to be rewarded just for working hard and getting mad when she doesn’t? Sorry, but no thank you. You need to be a little bit more humble. edit: I really hope a lot of the reason she’s so unlike able in this episode is purely editing. she seemed like such a nice person in the first episodes
i looooovveee celina the difference between "maybe Elle's just not my role" and then going "please win...for me" so dramatic i'm obsessed and the way she danced out of the house so iconic
For everyone watching - don't scroll down if you don't want spoilers on who is cut in this episode! Learned this the hard way! Like this to be at the top!
I appreciate how Natalie doesn’t say anything rude or disrespectful about the other girls, I think, and she tries to stay out of the drama. I mean I could be wrong, but it wasn’t what I expected from her, I’m sorry, I’m a bit judgmental
Celina since " best known for her work on Broadway, originating the role of Nicola in Kinky Boots, and her Tony Award-winning performance as Yitzhak in the 2014 revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which also earned her a Grammy nomination for the musical's official album" So happy for her!
Cassie said the judges didn't give her a chance to show exactly what she could bring the the role? Um you had the chance to perform multiple songs and scenes from the show in front if them.. what fo you call that? uhh she was just whiny
Emma’s not one of my favorites, but she killed this one today. I’ve seen multiple times people who audition or perform sick tend to actually do better because they know they have nothing to lose anyway and I think are more relaxed.
I love that this is like a reality tv show...it kinda sucks for the actresses though like the pressure isn't high enough for them, now they are being filmed during the entire thing.
I love that part where The judges are telling Cassie she would be amazing as a Swing and Understudy. So true!!! Swings and Understudies are ultimate great ways to grow as an artist. Makes me sick to my stomach that people diss SWINGS, UNDERSTUDIES, and STANDBYS. They work Quadruple as hard as what the Principals. They have to learn multiple tracks and be prepared to go on at a moment's notice. I've been lucky even as an audience member to see some spectacular Understudies go on (even if the main actor that I wanted to see was out). They're truly the ultimate BROADWAY X FACTOR!!!!
Cassie: “Can’t they give me a break? I’ve never seen the material before.” Ok...if I was auditioning for Legally Blond (or any show for that matter) I would make sure I knew the songs inside and out. Idk why Cassie is trying to kid herself because if she thinks that, than she’ll NEVER survive on Broadway!
I love that Autumn is trying to be mom to Cassie, I think she's super sweet. I know what it's like to be Cassie, like she feels like she doesn't belong and doesn't know what to do with those feelings. I could see myself doing something like that out of a place of hurt, whether it was founded in reality or not, and if someone had tried to be as sweet to me as Autumn was I definitely would have apologized and accepted their kindness.
Cassie: a lot of the girls are clicky with some of the girls here. I’m not really clicky with anybody, so I’m kinda like the odd ball out. Me: well, i really wonder why
"i've never seen the material before"????? Dude if you were REALLY a fan of the work then you would've seen and studied this musical before!!! I KNOW THE STUFF and I don't even WANT TO AUDITION
I could honestly never see Celina as Elle anyways buuut I love her so much because she’s so mature and sees the bright side of things, and really was the bigger person of the group when talking to Cassie (who’s a bitch in my opinion). When she got sent home she didn’t accept it at all or even appreciate the criticism and experience!!
they did cassie so dirty man😭😭 it’s obvious they edited things to make her seem evil and mean and would only show parts where she messed up, while it would just skip over those parts w the other girls. also in episode 3 they had her sing the harmony but edited it so she looked like a bad singer. ALSO, THE JUDGES LED HER ON WHEN SHE WAS “COMPLAINING” ABOUT THE OTHER GIRLS!!!! LIKE WHY WAS THAT EVEN BROUGHT UP???
Two of the girls, speaking maturely: "Cassie you let us down, and we think you may perceive things differently to the rest of us" Cassie: "THE GIRLS ALL GANGED UP ON ME AND THEY COMPLETELY THREW ME UNDER THE BUS AND SAID I WAS A COMPLETELY FAKE PERSON"
