Bas Rutten is one of the most lethal strikers in MMA history. He fought in Pancrase which is where they open hand strikes. Dude used to shred livers and put people to sleep !
Feel like if Bas wasn't so injured when he started his UFC career, he could have potentially been one of it's longest reigning HW champs. His injuries cut his career short just as he was hitting his prime.
Hes one of my favorite hws ever but hed only be long time reigning if he had the right matchups like vs marco ruas, pedro rizzo, abott etc he had great striking for the old days was very athletic and powerful and had excellent submissions but against great wrester hed constantly get taken down
For somebody like me, who likes to work legs and the body, a character like him is a dream come true... and I am not a slouch on the ground either. I got taken by surprise when I saw the alter egos. Now that working the body actually does something in this game this guy is a nightmare. His cut resistance gave me a bit problems because I got sliced so bad in round 1 that the fight almost went to a pause for the doc to check. He feels amazing (pause). NOW ... the 2010 Silva, the one with the goatee where he allegedly submitted Chael Sonnen, is super cracked. Even better than the actual legend version. Anyways.. I NEED MORE legends with a few gameplay changes. If they would just add Cro Cop with a proper model... that would be something. But a shoutout to EA for the character models and additions. Super accurate.
The whole footwork thing is weird because finally realizing how much your upper body moves when using your feet and then finally figuring out how to add that to your rhythm and timing, definitely one of the most difficult thing to learn, then add open stance to the conversation, just 🤯. The amount of footwork practice you do will never be enough and your legs will never hurt enough 😂😂
His switch kick to the body & roundhouse to the body should be 5 stars. He was literally known for liver shots. But EA is useless so I’m not surprised they didn’t even add em to his top moves.
Martial i watched him all the time back in the day,for a long time Bas had no takedown defense he was hopeless then gradually got better,you should have used more liver kicks that was his main weapon. Funny thing is i don't think his submission game should be that high seems a little over the top but it is great having him again.
Actually for peak Bas it kinda makes sense. He sorta has anti-takedown defense like a Aoki or Carlos Condit where he'd get taken down easy but throw out a bunch of submissions. He takedown defense was never very good though
Absolutely agree with everything re footwork in boxing. I remember when I first started boxing after training Muay Thai for several years, my feet and ankles were absolutely destroyed, even more sore than my shins from Muay Thai. Anyone can throw a punch, but footwork is truly what separates great boxers from good boxers.

You wanna see a boxer with the best footwork of all time? Watch Vasily Lomenchenko, pretty sure you know him but his foot work is the best I’ve ever seen. Mayweather as well. But Vasily will give fighters angles they have never seen. It’s truly something to be fascinated by.
I think it would be cool if EA added a feature to make your created fighters public to where other people could download them like in other games like WWE
Have you checked out Caio Borralho yet Martial,there is a bug which he looks 5ft 9 fighting and listed correctly at 6ft 1,even 5ft 10 Chris Curtis is bigger than him.

Not really it’s so easy to get coins by just playing the game and completing fight contracts I was on 120k and I bought randelman and pulver and am still on 75k.
I cant be the only one here that hates how EA constantly manipulates us to spend more money for fighter skins that should be for free, especially when you consider that we spent $80 on the game that's arguably worth $20.Corporate greed is disgusting, and Idc about the free fighters they add that SHOULD have already been in the game.
Outside of the body shot i dont think this game really does the justice to guys like this or alot of MMA guys tbh. His model is pretty good thiugh and his stats mostly accurate (shouldve had lower takedown defense)
