@@zt7489 No longer have the Durros but its such a simple dart that its hard to see any difference really, although the older darts through aging often have a velvety feel which some prefer.
He was my dads best friend..when me and me dad used to go the pub he used to be in there and we’d play darts all the time. It was a proper shame when we lost Eric cause he was a cracking fella and my dads close friend. Thank you for looking after my dad Eric. Sleep well my mate 🍻
@@DartsReviewChannel yes it was. Keep up the good content mate. And could u give any advise when playing darts aswell. Because I played amazingly I couple of days ago and now Iv gone down hill. Anything u can recommend?
@@kallumsalt1101 I have the same problems, been very sporadic with my darts of late, then a few hours ago I had a short throw and hit a 180 and a few 140s. I think the only thing I was really doing was just not thinking about it and throwing in a relaxed frame of mind. It's never easy though.
The new ones should have Erics aluminium Alamo metallic red stems like my old Harrows ones came with. Eric never used cheap looking black plastic stems.
Excellent review Darren, I used the classic Eric Bristow dart 80% tungsten and a big fan of the man. Now I still use my power point Eric Bristow 90%. Good throw a 180, CONGRATS.
I don’t normally buy players darts, if I’m honest, I don’t want the signature on the dart, makes it too busy for me, also the prices are ridiculous on some of them, this dart tho, because of who it is, I’d defo get these, he’s always been my favourite, as soon as he appeared on the telly, I was hooked, brill review as always Darren, loved the comparison with the old Harrows, great idea that 👍🎯
The new Bristow's have a left hand but the originals have a right hand. What the new designer has interpreted as his thumb on the original design is actually his little finger sticking out.
Not the shape of dart I like but with Eric Bristow being the legend he is, I would think his darts will always be around. . They've also kept the price at a very realistic rate. Many thanks Darren.
Another cracking review mate, like you I was to slow in getting a set unfortunately but are still on the list. Was impressed with the first legend bristow darts so looking forward to giving these a bash
Not really a big fan of player endorsed darts but the older set looks better overall!👍 Ughh... you made us choose again! Crafty! 🤣 He had the most unique way of throwing, almost like an old lady pulling out the sisal from the board with tweezers, only In the opposite direction!🤣🤣🤣 Nevertheless... Simple straights is best, Also reminds me of your Navigator darts. Always a great review!👍😎
i actually think its a midi/intermediate stem, rather than short like you said. you always seem to throw very well with a midi stem and a 47-50mm straight barrel, i already told you under another of your videos. nice darts, great comparison, i wasn't gonna get this one especially cause i think dartscorner showed these at 50mm length, but now im getting tempted to try one.
well flight position would mean you would be seeing the back of his hand if throwing it right handed, does not look like the back of his hand on the old one. Neither logo is totally clear though, think the new one is better though.
@@DartsReviewChannel Yes I see what you mean. I was looking at the point of the dart. It looks as though his fingertip (which would be the ring finger of his right hand) is on top of the point. If it was his left hand then I would expect to see the point cross in front of his fingertip. Either way, it's interesting because that's the first time I've seen an original set in over 20 years and it never occurred to me that it could be his left hand. And I only just realised that the logo on the new set is his left hand! I own a set from the late 90s but just has his name engraved.
Classic darts from my favourite player. Had a set of the argos bristow red rings. Unfortunately someone in the pub took a shine to them and they disappeared 🤬 think I might invest in some of these. Great review as always Darren. Keep up the good work
@@DartsReviewChannel too bad :( but thanks for the quick reply anyways! Great Review as always btw. Thank you! I recently bought the Eric Bristow Legenddarts and after some shaft adjustments (I took shorter ones, unfortunately I always have to do that with longer darts...) and large standard flights I am getting on well. Previously they had an unusually unsteady flight for me and there were a lot of runaways. I didn't even have that with 54mm Long barrels ... can you explain that? 😂 I use the soft version of the darts and although I always thought I needed a lot of grip, the darts work really well! You can feel the dart better and more directly, your fingers don't slip and the release is so smooth. I was thinking about getting the Rob Cross Gen 2 as a steel and drumming with both darts. Would you say the grip and feel are very identical or should I also get the Legend darts as steel to have more consistency?
@@NiSoh-wj8mg Goes to show its just as much about the way the darts work with your throw as anything, cant always go by what we think is or should be right, some times you just have to play around with the set up and see what works best :) The Rob Cross G2 SP? Thats a different grip, the Gen 1 are near identical to the Brissys though. If you are happy with the darts you are using now though why not stick with those?
@@DartsReviewChannel Darren, thank you very much for replying again! You are right. Some darts just behave strangely and you have to see which setup leads to you being able to throw them cleanly. I was considering the Gen 2 from Rob Cross as the dimensions are similar and I was hoping the grip would be reasonably similar. They also look incredibly good! I've had the Gen 1 in the past. 2018 I think, but somehow didn't get on with it. I think I gave up too quickly back then. I was considering another Steeldart so that I could play both and because I've heard that the screw tips are a moving part and therefore you have a disadvantage with soft darts when playing Steeldart. But I have to say that nothing has ever actually come loose with my mission conversion points. Is that really a disadvantage? Incidentally, I noticed with both the Legend darts and the Rob Cross Gen 1 that the grip feels somehow "sticky" when new? Do you have this feeling too? The old Harrows Bristows (the gray ones) didn't have this. The grip seemed weaker (but the thumb didn't move) and not sticky. The release was buttery smooth.
The logo on the new model looks reversed i.e. a left-handed grip with the palm facing the viewer ... not keen on either but another great review Darren, thank you.
Thanks! Both are left handed, I talked about it in the video but the audio has got messed up so spoilt it, was going to edit it in the RU-vid editor with correct audio but looks like RU-vid dont allow that any more.
@@DartsReviewChannel Somehow I missed that and only noticed when I paused on the close-up section, they should have completed the set with a packet of Rothmans King Size and a stick of chalk for rubbing on the barrels!
@@christopherfranklin972 LOL yeah, that video of Bristow when he was younger, forgot what its called now, was just like my older brother who was about the same age only my brother smoked No 6 lol
@@DartsReviewChannel When I lived in London in the 70's I used to walk (40 mins +) from Camden Town to a pub (forgotten the name) where Bristow was reputed to play money games in the back room, although I was pretty decent I never made it past the front bar matches to find out!
Well spotted Ryk, think I was rushing, the sound is for the photo that follows I think, and the other audio is from the video of the barrels. I may be able to fix it without having to re-upload the whole thing, but will be tomorrow now, cheers! :)
