I grew up playing this game as a kid when I was 12 years old. Now I'm 28 years old and I'm proud to say I found my Shana in real life and she is just as loyal as I am. ♥
It's so weird how life seems to change. One thing's for sure, the memories will always stay the same. I must just be the song but damn, songs like these make me think that it was all worth it.
I have yet to find a game that made me experience the same magical feeling I had when I started this as a kid. Could be adulthood, but I desperately wish to capture that feeling again. So pure
This theme takes me back to my childhood, I use to play this epic game and my sweet little cute chubby cheeks sister would often come and sit next to me and just watch , she, always liked Shana and wanted to be her character lol, I would get mad at her and say she can't be Shana! Cuz I'm dart and they love eachother like boyfriend n girlfriend love lol , miss those childhood days , being an adult sucks , life is not fun as an adult , war , sex , money etc, all these things don't appear to be in the mind of a child , that's why most of us so dearly miss our childhood 😥😢🥺😫
Nostalgia.... Its tough Sultan. In speaking of this desire for our own far off country, which we find in ourselves even now, I feel a certain shyness. I am almost committing an indecency. I am trying to rip open the inconsolable secret in each one of you-the secret which hurts so much that you take your revenge on it by calling it names like Nostalgia and Romanticism and Adolescence; the secret also which pierces with such sweetness that when, in very intimate conversation, the mention of it becomes imminent, we grow awkward and affect to laugh at ourselves; the secret we cannot hide and cannot tell, though we desire to do both. We cannot tell it because it is a desire for something that has never actually appeared in our experience. We cannot hide it because our experience is constantly suggesting it, and we betray ourselves like lovers at the mention of a name. Our commonest expedient is to call it beauty and behave as if that had settled the matter. Wordsworth’s expedient was to identify it with certain moments in his own past. But all this is a cheat. If Wordsworth had gone back to those moments in the past, he would not have found the thing itself, but only the reminder of it; what he remembered would turn out to be itself a remembering. The books or the music in which we thought the beauty was located will betray us if we trust to them; it was not in them, it only came through them, and what came through them was longing. These things-the beauty, the memory of our own past-are good images of what we really desire; but if they are mistaken for the thing itself they turn into dumb idols, breaking the hearts of their worshipers. For they are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found, the echo of a tune we have not heard, news from a country we have never yet visited. -C.S. Lewis
I love the scene in the moon where Dart and Haschel listen to this being played on piano. They come to understand why they both know this song without outright saying it.
Is this also the theme dart plays at the end in the rest area there is a piano and u can talk to it and you play a theme and it is a looped version I used to fall asleep to it was such a peaceful time
Anyone else remember that Shana was a reincarnation of the god of destruction? And that she enthralls living beings by just being near them and they will protect her to the death ... Also known as EVERYONE SHE WAS CLOSE TO! Also, she was THE magic tank! So still a great character. vote Yes to Shana and no to Miranda!
I remember reserving part 2 from GameStop... they had to return my money because they never released it .. crazy how they took 4 years to make this game.. hopefully one day they do a remake in hd or something
SepiaDragoonGR I just want to experience this game again for the very first time. I'm 19 now ,but Dart was always my favorite and still is. Every time I hear the music it reminds me of when I was small.
One day i hope to be able to remake this game and have full directing responsibility over it just to make the thousands of fans, other than myself, it has relive it in a more awesome way
Well, Zieg wasn't killed until the plot twist at the end of disc 3. It's ironic, Rose and Zieg fought against Melbu 11000 ago, and Rose was the one to set Melbu free in Neet, only to die fighting him at the hands of her true love
In my opinion Shana is a great character. She is a lot like Aerith, but she is more straightforward which in my opinion makes her better. She's one of the realest girls in RPGs. Only thing I didn't like is how characters treated her like she needed to be protected when she just obliterated giant monsters with her inner power. Also, she might be more fun to play than the others. I went back to this game very recently and started doing a Shana-only playthrough. Even with the annoying part of having to kill off your 1 HP party members every battle and the fact that I can do additions a lot easier than I could when I was younger, I had a really fun time just playing the game in this way as it became more strategic, but also more devastating because of funneling experience. It's also nice that my unused characters also get a great level of experience, making the game a lot more bearable if I have to rely on another character. I think it is a natural reflex to like other characters in your first time playing through, but that's because it is hard to focus on the story if you are so focused on using additions and learning new ones and other gameplay aspects you don't know about. With a solo playthrough, the story and characters become a lot easier to focus on. It's sad because the writing in this game was probably above 98% of things made in this time. One of the coolest things is returning to areas and finding that every character actually reacts to major events. The most interesting place to revisit is Kazas so far.
@@watchtowerreviewz7978 Yeah because you can change into a Dragoon with cool effect Dragoon Magic too game play is creative too and stories is good enough sad but true the only things I love about Star Ocean 3 is just the game play and some of town is very cool
I agree, the gameplay in the Star Ocean games is some of the very best I have ever tried. I can't think of another JRPG that has tighter combat gameplay mechanics. Not only is it extremely fun, addictive, and rewarding, but it can go very deep if you choose to fully go into it. The "Tales of" games come in second place for me. I'm currently playing Tales of Vesperia and man is the combat satisfying.

SepiaDragoonGR I think a common emotion amongst us Legend of Dragoon fans is extreme nostalgia when we hear the soundtrack. I thought this quote from Lewis really hits the nail on the head when describing that thing we all experience when we hear a song close to our hearts. What do you think about it?
@@brentporter986 Personally, i think that if a remake was ever done, i could easily see this quote you shared being incorporated as a theme that both Shana and Rose (as opposites) build upon and relate it to the rest of the audience. It is a powerful quote, and it certainly befits the life that Rose led, as well as the life that was bestowed upon Shana, all done by the superior orchestration of Fate by the Winglies.
Replaying the game right now as it’s on the ps5 (finally) and jeez do they treat shana weird. Always being made to cook and then lavits just telling her randomly she will be a good wife one day?? Just reached the town where dart gets his dragoon and the second you meet the defenders of the village they tell Shana to… cook and prepare meals for the town. If this ever gets a remake all this is gona change completely 😂
