I like how he says that he wants music playing whilst riding a horse when there’s literally 2 themes made specifically for that and play when that happens.

The golden poop seems to be a comment on completionism just for the sake of it. The collectables are CLEARLY designed to not be collected 100%, there are so many that you'd naturally find a lot no matter where you explore. I think it's funny, personally.

The full climbing gear set effect should have been immune to rain.

I always liked the village building sidequest. I like it when a game allows me as a player to transform the world itself.

The legend of rain: at inconvenient times

This game is NOT designed for 100% completion. The fact that one of your completion bonuses is literally a golden turd is all the proof I need. Not even once.

After putting just under 400 hours into "Breath of the Wild," I am proud to say that I have THE ULTIMATE COMPLETION GAME FILE!!! What exactly does that mean? Basically, it's an OCD person's wet dream! I defeated Calamity Ganon! I conquered all four divine beasts! I finished all 120 shrines, and found all the treasure chests inside them! I found all 900 korok seeds, and obtained one piece of golden poop! I finished every single side quest AND shrine quest! I unlocked all my memories! I filled in the entire Hyrule Compendium! I found, and fully upgraded, every piece of armor AND horse armor! Finally, if you look at my inventory, I have exactly 50 of every single item in the game (excluding fairies since you can't carry that many)! What's that? What about all the extra content? That's right! I also obtained ALL the amiibo armor/items as well, and upgraded them all! I completed all the DLC.... AND I DID THE SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN IN MASTER MODE!!!!!! My game file is COMPLETE!!!! I decided to leave it with Link standing on the cliff, just outside of the shrine of resurrection, looking out over Hyrule, wearing his champion's tunic, hylian trousers, and only the master sword strapped to his back, just like in his memories.

When Aonuma said that thing about not being able to 100% complete it, you could tell Miyamoto was holding back on erupting with laughter

Honestly I think the reason there are so many korok seeds is so you can get all the seeds you need to max out the inventory even if you miss a lot of them

It's amusing how Jirard obviously completely missed the final interaction with Kass in Rito Village after completing all of his riddles by saying in the video that Link and Zelda have no romantic involvement in this game. Kass literally says his teacher was in love with Zelda and lamented that she "only had eyes for her appointed knight attendant" and wrote the lyric "the princess's love for her fallen knight awakens her power, and in the castle the Calamity is forced to cower". Has Nintendo _ever_ been that straightforward before? lol

I actually loved that Link DIDN'T have a voice in Breath of the Wild because, for the first time, it was actually done with intention. One of Zelda's journals in her study makes note that Link might have been through great traumas in his past that have scarred him emotionally and keep him from speaking. That's just....so damn well written. Also, Jirard, not only is there music on horseback, there's both a day AND night variant of the track (and it's easily one of my favorite songs in the game). Clearly you didn't ride a horse for more than ten second at once to not have heard the track lol.

There’s actually an explanation in-game as to why link is mostly (entirely) silent, he has anxiety over having to save the ENTIRE world, and apparently used to be very talkative and arrogant

What I’ve always found bizarre is how they didn’t make the final upgrade to the climbing gear be rain resistance. That would’ve given so much incentive to upgrade while also negating most people’s number one complaint

I wish I’d learned how to beat Lynels efficiently earlier…seriously, the ability to farm Lynels makes completing this game so much faster.

No no no, the breath of the Wild Tunic isn't based on the tunic from the first Zelda. It's a brand new tunic. The original legend of Zelda tunic can be found from 8-bit link amiibo.

The thing about not getting good reward when you complete the slate is trying to teach you that it’s about the journey and not the reward it wants you to enjoy going to all these places but since you try to complete everything in a single time your not enjoying what your doing so I encourage everyone to complete but at your own pace

Zelda and link's relationship is actually confirmed as romantic in game if you read both of their diaries, hear kass's song, and know what the white flowers at the end (only shown if you get all the memories, presumedly because link needs those memories to be romantically interested in zelda) represent.

No the music is perfect. There is almost always music playing throughout the game it just isn’t blasting in your face all the time. I love the gentle and ambient feel the music crates when riding your hours or exploring. This game doesent need crazy heroic music because this game isn’t about that. It’s about exploration and the soundtrack portrays that perfectly. I’ve grown to love every single track in this game they bring me such a strong sense of nostalgia and calmness

As a veteran zelda player I felt bad when i died multiple times at the beginning.

Even though it's been a couple of years, and even though I know it was probably a massive pain in every cell of his being, it always makes me laugh so hard when he says, "Nothing. Nothing! NOTHING!"

I dunno what was up with your copy, but every time I got on a horse it started playing a special soundtrack for the ride.

You can get star fragments from silver lynels, it helps, a lot. Also you can buy all of the compendium photos, from the guy in the back of the hateno ancient tech lab. And and, if you zoom in on the map, some names will not show up, even if you know they exist, so thats a useful tip on filling up your map.

Just rewatched all of the memories at once, and overall, Urbosa is by far the most badass, smartest, and realistic character in this entire game.

Nintendo did this on purpose. They want people to understand that they should just play the game for fun, instead of completing everything, unless you find that fun, which for me can tend to be fun. Anywho, someone on RU-vid put out that they think nintendo is trying to get this across: "It's not about getting everything done, its about the journey in the game"

I actually love how many Koroks there are, and that Link being the only person who can interact with them means theres nothing but your own perception and intuition to find them with. Theres so many that the world is saturated with them and I didnt find it hard at all to get enough to max out my inventory, I just kept coming across them all throughout my travels and never started to run out in the same way I did shrines after a while, you know? Theres so many not to find them all but to make it easier to find as many as you want!

From a non completionist perspective this game is absolutely fantastic. This game gave me that sense of wonder I haven't had since I was kid. I put over 100 hours into this game which makes this game the first non Pokemon game I've done that with. This is probably my favorite Zelda game. Quite possibly my favorite game of all time idk yet on that one

Badass review man, I know it’s been a few years since you reviewed it but for someone like me who is just now getting to breath of the wild it’s a great experience.

While I ended up loving Breath of the Wild immensely, I absolutely agree that the rain mechanic was super frustrating. It was easily the worst part of the game, imo. I’m really hoping Nintendo addresses this in BotW 2.

I'm honestly glad they didn't give him a voice. They explained why he doesn't speak in Zelda's journal which was a really good touch

re: the music I tend to disagree, I think the music use was damn near perfect. It had meaning, only appearing in certain and at certain times, and therefore it really struck you more when you heard it. Particularly in the cutscenes and residential areas, as well as boss fights, environmental shifts and when my boy Kass is near.

I was thinking it weird too that Link does not speak, especially in the memories while everyone else does. Although Zelda's diary actually says that Link is not speaking and it really annoys her. That is until apparently she learns that the reason he does not speak much is that apparently he is feeling crushed by expectations and is not speaking in order to try and stay strong, that he is doing his duty.

This is a game I think about all the time. One of those that still creep into my thoughts. How fun was this game and big and the fun.

Breath of the Wild... the first game that I got hooked on within 5 minutes AND the first game that I truly thought was beautiful. The game is such a masterpiece that you have so much fun with. Except the Yiga Clan hideout. That shit was annoying.

The blights aren't corrupted champions. All four of them are phantom constructs created by Calamity Ganon to corrupt the divine beasts and kill their champions.

My friend recommended me this game, knowing that I love getting everything done in games, my friend knew full well what the game had in store, (as they have over 2,000 hours in it and have beaten it 5 times normally and 5 times on master mode) and another thing they knew is that this game would be my PERSONAL HELL FOR THE NEXT DECADE OF MY LIFE. And I am so happy that they told me about this game. I started 2 days ago and am having a blast with it. And I know for a fact, that I will prove them wrong. They said that I won’t get everything in this game. So, I’ll be here for the next 10 years!

I'm currently going through a run where I'm collecting all of the koroks. Maybe it's different because I'm not trying to beat it for my job, but I genuinely enjoy going to all the nooks and crannies to find them! It's taking me to places I've never been before.

I made my own rain climb strategy. have climbing gear and let link climb and watch his hand movement, after 4 times he moved his hand you perform a jump, then you repeat. I find this the best way to climb during the rain

The challenge is the reward, you should only every do what you want. I understand that you're in a special place with these challenges that you give yourself, but once you start to force yourself to play a game it loses itself and is then a chore. For me, I'll see the Wild clothing set as being the endpoint

19:06 Am I the only one that rides horses in this game? I have 101 shrines completed and I rarely fast travel, I just love the scenery and the feeling of an open world where I can go and ride nearly everywhere. I often ride all across the map just to be on a horse.

Watching other reviews, I wasn't sure if this was the game for me (having never played a Zelda game). Watching this review; oh my God I can't wait for my copy to arrive :)
