I can't get over the fact that Link actually got caught trying to sneak into the bedroom of the king's daughter, and the king was just like, "Here, take some flowers. Good luck, my boy!" And she was actually cool with it too.
@@feel.U-y5o It’s not trying to be cool. It’s just an acknowledgment of the fact that this Link has no personality or even life outside of wanting to smooch Zelda It’s honestly kinda surprising you wouldn’t expect people to dislike such a bland character
When you stop and think about it, they got a pretty accurate portrayal of Link in this show. I mean, this is a guy who enters people's houses at will, steals their Rupees, places bombs right outside their doors and in their houses, violates tombstones, ditches his duties for side-quests, screws over all of Hyrule's sleep schedule, went all hammer & tong with god knows how many women in Zelda II and is generally cruel to animals, chickens in particular. So yeah, Link is kind of a dickbag and this cartoon was surprisingly accurate with that!
Yeah, you're not wrong, but the problem is no one plays Link that way; no one thinks of him that way. We love Link cause he's a hero- not a horny teenager from San Bernadino in 1987.
@@maniacmcgee5992 According to Hyrule Historia, this show is set in the "Age of Downfall" timeline, and quite late at it. Zelda is a jumbled mess of three timelines stemming from Ocarina of Time (Adult Link wins, Child Link wins, Link loses and the Sage have to pick up the slack against Ganon). The timeline of the "Downfall" is the worst possible, with the Hero of Time having failed and several Links having to pick up. Furthermore, Zelda, Link and Ganon are now quite distant from what they once were: Zelda is much less divine and "hears the gods" less, Link is more carefree and Ganon lost his cunning instead having a feral craving for power Hence, it makes sense for the "Hero of Downfall" being a braggart and a womanizer with a hidden sliver of what Link once was, for Zelda to be a stuck up queen bee without any mystical power and Ganon to be a brutish wizard
The fact that this video is 17 years old is astonishing to me. This video really did stood the test of time. Man I feel so old. Also this whole show is just a whack case in my opinion.
How was he supposed to know Link meant for Zelda to kiss him instead? That girl really doesn't want to kiss him, she'll just let her father do it for her..😅
Watching these, I just remember how the Super Mario Bros Super Show showed Mario on Mondays thru Thursdays, and Zelda on Fridays. That's right... watching THIS was considered an end-of-the-week TREAT. Yikes. xD
I still remember every one of those cartoons. I'd always watch the new ones and hoped that Link would finally get a kiss. Why can't they make cartoons like that today?
Although the show wasn't exactly the best in the world, it made up for its high amount of humor, especially with all the crazy antics Link does. But still, to this day, the show would always be unforgettable. And what really cracke dme up was that when Link kissed the ground... some reward. XD
You say that like it's a big deal. People keep getting canceled on Twitter all the time, sometimes even for stuff as dumb as saying stuff the other person doesn't agree with. Whatever happened to learning from your mistakes and not putting up with others' crap?
One thing that I personally didn't like as much about breath of the wild is the lack of emotion shown by Link, especially compared to Link in this cartoon. The Link in botw was portrayed as being serious with one main goal in mind; To save Hyrule. This link however, had other goals in mind such as getting a kiss from Zelda or getting used to his new life in a castle. I also liked the fact that in the show he had to work just for a chance at getting some affection from Zelda whereas the Link from botw seemed to always have it. I know that there is a limited amount of emotion he can show in botw because he doesn't talk but even compared to other games like Phantom hourglass or skyward sword, he still doesn't act the way most games portray him.
