Legend True Solo - Mercenary + Spear and Shield / New Skin!｜Vermintide 2 

Yep. I was playing on legend chaos expeditions solo(with bots) earlier and when all 3 of my bots got downed in the Arena of Determination I remembered Choco and told myself to calm down, tread carefully and map out where I'm walking backwards to and keep kiting and slowly kill all the enemies. Ended up clutching and reviving all the bots to win the game.

​@@maximeamoros1190 Aww thanks. You will also reach Legend soon and then even Cataclysm and be able to handle things alone even without allies. It's all a matter of time.

@@TheArnoldification I think it’s high tier on legendary and Cata. Cleave feels super solid on Merc and single target is serviceable as well.

The weapon is very good, playing cata only

@@TheArnoldification Personally been playing a ton with it on legend (Merc and FK) and I've been loving it, even replaced my beloved spear on Merc. This thing is just horde and elite abuser. First 2 lights are just nice wide sweeps (like his spears sweeps) that have decent cleave (Merc obviously boosts this) and you can do a very easy animation cancel to just keep a 1/2 light chain going non stop, making hordes a joke. The stab while blocking is great for easy safe attacks on things like maulers and SV as seen, or if you prefer, clearing the trash away for easier fights against just them, though keep your stamina in check when doing so. Heavy 2 is a nice overhead, so a push attack into the head followed by a heavy for a nice overhead into the head can usually take care of elites quite well. Biggest issue for me is the special stabs have a REALLY long animation before you can do any other attack again, though you can get around this with a quick double tap of Q (or whatever your bind may be for switching between ranged and melee). Only done a few cata runs in chaos wastes with it so far, but it still held up fairly well, lack of armor damage started to show there though.

I still don’t understand why all the spear weapons have so many sweeping attacks. They’re spears made for stabbing. They look stupid being swung around sideways

@@elgringosupremo have you ever been bonked on the head by a staff? Hurts like hell. Now imagine if the end of that staff alsohas a blade on it.

Aye beamstaff is just right click while the beam is up. But man, I fell in love with the spear and shield with this ability.

The stab with your shield up is the special effect. The special button On console is clicking the right stick in, not sure about pc

On pc you have a to key bind the

Key bind the special item on settings and For the pack master , while he starts his grapple animation if you walk towards him and hug his left or right you dodge his hook all the time if done correctly

I have no idea it exists. Do other weapons have special effects too?

@@ncgzeal the only other weapons where this has a effect is saltzpyres rapier where it shoots the handgun with it , and the other one is kerellians long bow and it just zooms like a scope

Yeah but it wouldn’t be lore accurate if they could. Besides, grail knight has plenty of good options still, although I wish the bretonnian sword and shield was one of them

@@LordThatch Lore can bite my ass if it means the "melee only" class can't use a DLC melee weapon paid for with real $$$.

@@SuperCatacata use it on any other class then, grail knights can’t use pole weapons

i mean that’s the problem with Brettonia Knight’s weapons in lore. They have no clear cut what melee they can use, even though they are depicted as a medieval civilization mimicking the European medieval. There are plenty of historical documents and artworks of knights using spears and shields, so i don’t get why they should be assumed as peasant weapons in Warhammer lore.

Special button, you have set it in key bindings. I usually use the mouse wheel button. So the combo is: hold right click mouse (parry) + mouse wheel button. Assuming you are playing on PC

It's not difficult to play Legend Solo if you have a certain level of skill. You may be mistaken, but I'm not playing to show off my skills. My goal is to introduce new weapons and builds. I'm sure everyone understands that and is watching.
