Happy New Year to you all! Let's make it another great year. Well, this video was relatively easy to finish, because for some reason there were very few special appearances. (It's possible that the specials were stacked in the first half of the video..?) Cog Hammer is very impressive. I haven't tried it yet, but it might be interesting to use Opportunist. The video is not very good, so we have put together some Demo Play.

Same. It's so good w the 15% power bonus w 2 2h weapons. Not ideal for solo runs obviously, but for group play its insanely good on cata. Great CC and excellent single target damage An even better combo though. Is Ranger Veteran. With coghammer and throwing axes. And then using the 25% power buff skill when out of ammo, and using 30% dmg reduction for attacks on your back; Makes ranger veteran an excellent tank. And using the 25% power buff and maintsay; you get some of the highest dmg in the game from him. Especially given how fast the axe mode's attacks are. But yeah, that ranger veteran setup is my favorite way to play.
The throwing axes look so cool, but they feel so bad, especially on ranger compared to other ranged weapons. ;_; And they are so hated ppl even kick bardins who use them in quick play. D: great vid BTW, watching it a second time xD
Haha throwing axes ftw I love them and other people hate people that use them. Double win. No joke tho working to the 1000 kill since yesterday up to 600+ atm and I joined a lobby with a level 30 swift bow waystalker who got pissed off at the sight of them and kicked me from the lobby before the game started.
As someone just coming back to v2, are there any resources for commonly sought after breakpoint for various slayer weapons? like coghammer, greataxe, etc. I've tinkered around with the calc but there are so many combinations @_@ I feel so aimless. Great video. :D
Thank you. I didn't know that the throwing axe wasn't popular, but it's certainly a weapon with its own quirks. The damage to your allies is a problem, but it works great with RV.
Bit late, but throwing axes are nice since the slayer is otherwise a melee only class. However in group play they'll be near useless with ever-present Kerillian mains and the other classes having good ranged options.
Have you tried Cog Hammer with Great Hammer? I love that build for slayer. I use the lvl10 talent that gives you bonus damage for have two two handed weapons equipped and the talent that gives you damage reduction for landing heavy attacks. Much fun. I also like throwing axes on ranger with last resort.
@@chocoB777 It's my favorite way to play slayer. You can clear hordes by yourself easily especially after you stagger with your ult and light spam the coghammer but I try to stay close to my team and zone with the greathammer. I still get a bunch of kills like that though because of the +45% damage, but at least GH zoning my team also gets temp health. Plus you have the coghammer heavy attack to decimate anything your greathammer can't knock around.
I'm currently running 2h hammer and coghammer, the 2h for CC and cog for specials. Although cog is quite good at both I wonder what the other weapon should be for people that don't own winds of magic. Maybe a pickaxe? Any suggestions?
Great! But i realized you face almost no stunners (Leech, Runner, Packmaster). Especially when you are facing hordes and cornered. How many tries did it take to get a game where you just don't get grabbed within a horde? When i try solo'ing, there are always at least 2-3 insta-killers in every horde.
This is simply because the game time is shorter and the number of specials spawning is relatively low. I recommend that you watch other videos before expanding your horizons to include more than just one perspective.
It's always weird to me how the Pickaxe and the Cog Hammer are basically the same weapon but The Cog Hammer is almost universally considered the better weapon, great video btw!
They wanted to make a good melee weapon for engineer to create distance. Instead they made a nutty melee weapon for slayer to trash both crowd and elite.
@@Pilloutar There are reasons you see more greathammer than greataxe, and coghammer is way easier to use than greathammer. Slayer can just go in and stagger the crap out of enemies.

@@chocoB777 Boring as in removes entertainment, not lacks entertainment. "Solo" runs with a crutch are no different than playing with someone burdening some of the difficulty.
