When these guys were still in high school, they were late for class because they were up all night doing recording sessions with Some of the most legendary bands of the 70s… Steve Lukather and David Paich as well as the Late Jeff Porcaro formed Toto soon after and David Paich wrote the riff of the 70s classic Hold the Line in his first apartment so loud and so many times that he was evicted after other renters complained but in the end the song sold a million copies and put the band on the map. IN this exclusive interview with Steve Lukather and David Paich we get the story first hand as well as the story of 99 and how their classic logo came to be.

I’m excited to bring you another episode from our series Revelations- where featured artists go deep on their greatest songs and albums… . After playing on hundreds of records of some of the biggest names in LA while they were still trying to finish high school, Friends Jeff Porcaro and , David Paich, decided to put together their own band and recruited Steve Lukather, David Hungate and Bobby Kimball and recorded their first album.. The Self Titled album blew the industry’s mind with their Top smash Hold the Line which came to David Paich in a flash. He started playing the riff over and over again on his piano in his very first apartment. He played over and over and over. In fact he started getting complaints from other tenants about the noise… it got so bad that… well I’ll let david tell you the rest… The point is he knew he was onto something. It was so good another popular song was taken right from it… find out what song...
