Yeah the ones that really save weight are the roof and doors. The hood and fenders are decently light from factory

Yeah the thing is nuts, crazy how its slower from a dig but on a roll there's not much on sale that can beat it. That doesn't cost more than itself

Its not slow from a dig. Yeah, if your on poor quality asphalt , then both the Shelby and any car its up against, on the ssme asphalt, will suffer the same issues. Good concrete, or on a drag strip, & your low 11's in poor air. Mid to high 10's in good to great air. Race track surface with great air & your in 10.60's with all stock. This car tested at 100lbs less on front, should be a tenth qwiker. Ive owned many Mustangs, as have many of youbout there. & this is the very best Mustang Ford ever built, that was available for purchase by the average person.

You did good for sure. If you don't get high centered and use common sense (and proper winter tires), this platform has excellent performance in the snow.

While true the price of the GT500 is far higher than the Termi, a performance pack GT of today blows away the old terminators, for less money adjusted for inflation.

Its a manual transmission. There is no Torque Converter. Uses a clutch for all odd # gears & a clutch for even # gears & reverser. Just install a 3rd pedal w/ a stiff return spring.. Then push the pedal in every time you upshift or downshift using the paddles & pretend your the worlds qwikest shifter. Or, put in computer shift mode, & use your right hand to pretend there is an imaginary shifter over top of the console. (sarcasm) Or, just drive it as Ford intended & stop saying calling it an automatic or saying that its not a manual transmission. It IS! It has 2 clutches & zero Torque converters. It is a manual without a clutch pedal. Similar to a Lenco, Jeffco, Liberty, or a G-Force in CONCEPT of driving. Only better!! It even has a neutral, just like the slower style manual trannys that have a neutral. If you're driving down the road & wanna put it in neutral, do it. Why? Cause its a MANUAL TRANSMISSION. NOBODY THROWS THERE FLOOR SHIFTER automatic in neutral while driving unless they wanna risk an accident. Yes, u can do it. & yes, its dangerous 😳 ☠️. Dangerous in an automatic. Not in a manual transmission as long as you know how to move the shifter from a gear to neutral. Yes, I am tired of people saying this car needs a manual transmission thats slower in every way than the manual transmission Ford had built for the GT500, by Tremec. Call Tremec & ask how they built an automatic without a Torque Converter, if you believe your still correct in your logic.

The holes don't actually do much for cooling. That's the point of a vented rotor these days. All the holes do is take away the friction area area and create a weak spot to crack.

Vented is not the same as "has holes in it". Ventilation is internal to the rotor. Theres space between the front and back faces of the disk, and air is naturally pumped between the two faces. What you're thinking of are "drilled" disks.

@@mitchellsteindler we actually asked and nonvented was way better why they got rid of them on the gt350s and r just created weak spots

you should watch some track vids of the 500. it's brakes work and last just fine and are way cheaper to replace which leads to more track days and less money spent
