Legendary crooner Tony Bennett, best known for singing "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," has died, according to his longtime publicist, Sylvia Weiner. #CNN #News
Well, this isn't sad news. It's a life well-lived. Becoming a famous jazz star admired by millions, singing and surprising audiences for decades, working with so many stars and living to almost a hundred years is one huge accomplishment. All we can do is just applaud him for his work and most importantly: his legacy. Thank you, Tony. 👏👏👏👏
He was a great entertainer and will be missed. I usually only drink on ocasions. I'll be having a drink tonight. Thank you for your contribution to the art Tony. RIP
Rest In Peace, Legend ❤ I discovered Tony Bennett for myself just a few years ago, and immediately fell in love with his voice, with his music, with the soul he was putting into every piece he made, I also loved his album "Love Is Here To Stay" with Diana Krall. May his voice will never be forgotten ❤
The last of the old-school greats in jazz/pop music, who inspired many of the new-school vocalists. And like my mom and dad, Alzheimer's may rob you of immediate recall, of recognizing and communicating with people...but when something you've done all your life - in his case, his music and voice - THAT brings you back to life. Thank you, Mr. Bennett. Thank you.

Tony Bennett was an exceptional human being. He was humbled by his part as a serviceman in the Army during WWII and having taken part in the liberation of the Landsberg concentration camp where over 30,000 victims were imprisoned under inhuman conditions, resulting in the death of around 14,500 of them. His personal testimony allowed him to see the danger of the Nazi movement and a recent US president's ignorance of this dark period in history that cost Bennett and others like him so many friends and countrymen. This world was blessed to have had Tony Bennett's presence.
I saw a gallery of his watercolor paintings 20 years ago in Maui, and have never forgotten how impressive they were & are. Not a lot of people know he's an accomplished painter as well. Also an epic stoner. He claimed to smoke 20 joints a day, at one point in his career. Look it up ! A true legend.
So much Joy was given to us all thru his Music and his Gentlemanly ways.... RIP MR BENNET... Sarrowful Condolences to his Wife and Family.... Your Voice and Grace will be greatly missed...
One of the greatest voices of a generation is a massive understatement. He was a true living legend in every sense. Tony was the best. No one could capture the essence of a song like Tony. He will be missed, but his music will live on forever. May he rest in peace.
He was one-of-a--kind and so was that musical era. And all I keep thinking of is Academy Award winner Adrien Brody in the role of Tony Bennett if ever they decide to make a film about his legendary life.
I look forward to the day when we celebrate a long-lived and well-lived life. This isn't sad in the least. He came here and did what he was supposed to do. His journey here should be inspiration for the rest of us to stop living such mediocre lives. RIP, Mr. Bennett. ❤️
Many years ago, during an interview Frank Sinatra was asked who was his favorite singer and without hesitation Sinatra replied Tony Bennett, the last of the greats , gorgeous voice just listen to “ Emily” his range was quite extraordinary he will be greatly missed , but he will live on with the great music he left behind. RIP Mr Bennett , a life well lived , and thank you for the legacy you have left behind, your music left behind is a national treasure , just like you.🎼🎹🎤🎼❤️🌹
PS to my earlier comment: Tony Bennett always sings the verse! The many witty and thoughtful verses that lyricists craft often go unsung by even the other master singers Tony uses the verse to set us up for the main body of the song, kind of inviting us to guess that song's identity. Honor the verse, Tony once observed in an interview.
Tony Bennett, an american singer. I love to hear his voice. I live here in San Francisco most of my life. That is Greatness. I'll be 74 years old in September. My parents and Grandparent love him. I have 4 LPs....my mothers' collection. My heart is still in San Francisco. Thank You, Tony, We are playing your song. Herman Jones and friends at the Outsider Cocktail Lounge San Francisco, CA.
Thank you, TONY BENNETT for doing your part to help save and tame mankind with your gift and talent. Truly last of the golden age crooners and a legacy that cannot be undone. In the meantime, I'll do my part to keep the music playing.

I wish K.D. could embrace Tony after singing with him, like she used to…..many hearts are broken and sad. How lucky K.D. To have shared the art of singing and a special friendship with this beautiful soul. May Tony shines forever in a magical place, somewhere over the rainbow! ❤❤❤
It is sad news. Wonderful singer who has kept the Great American Songbook alive. He also was a wonderful painter. And he helped liberate one of the concentration camps at the close of WWII. A true legend. Irreplaceable.

Sad; "I left my heart in San Francisco" had a special meaning as my relatives were from the Lafayette, Orinda area. It was/is very wistful for me. My mother had several of his albums in the 60's we would sit on the floor and listen to . I had singing aspirations and he was one of my idols .
If not, one of the last crooners has closed the curtain on a life well blessed . Not perfect, but honest, open, humble. He may have left his heart in San Francisco , but he gained many fans young and old. A style all of his own. Thank you, Mr Bennett Ciao, God bless you 🙏 Condolences to the family. Legend Humanitarian ❤
