You went from not having cash, only card to finding only $13 in the car, to eating for free in the back…. when it’s pick up only ❤️❤️❤️ that was an inspiration!! Always stay positive and good karma will come your way if you earned it ❤️❤️❤️ love your channel
Holy moly!...My mouth was seriously watering....I think Puerto Rican food is a game changer for sure....The flavors are unlike anything you will ever eat....Comforting, hearty and bursting with unique flavors...Thank you once again for highlighting PR food...God Bless!...👏🙏
I love how you're telling everyone it might not look like the greatest neighborhood, but not to worry because everyone is incredibly nice. It is so important to remember never to make assumptions!! I love that they let you film in the back :-) Lots of cardio, but sooooo worth it - ha ha ha!!!
I'm from Kensington...he gonna get some outta town weirdo robbed coming down here... they better be in n out quick...he ain't from here ...he look like a west Philly boul...
Te diste una haltera. As a native that food was banging. The beans with the pumpkin, the two kinds of rice, the relleno de papa and the alcapurria plus the sopa de fidel. I was over here salivating.
How I just come home from Freddy and Tonys and I look on youtube and see you just uploaded from the same spot. Food be on point, you could get a platter with rice, beans, salad and either pernil or chicken for like $10 - $12 .. Glad you love the food from our culture. Keep doing your thing homie.
I had a very late lunch today. So my plan was to have some fruit or a granola bar for the night. But, Nooooooo! JL just showed us some very authentic looking Puerto Rican food. Thank you for warning us if you are hungry eat something before viewing. I really am shaking my head right now. 🤤 Stay safe! Be blessed!
@@5656jpjp just so you know, I didn’t ask you for your input either! Obviously some people did like to know the difference between the two. Have a great day with your rude comment!
@@wrivera2656Spain doesn't have the same menu as the folks that live in spanish speaking countries alot of the food and flavor came from the African slaves that was brought in to cultivate the Caribbean islands
@@stoneloc8979 I live in the Caribbean islands, root vegetables dish like plantain casaba sweet potato came from Africa. Pork roast, rice & beans escabeche , deserts like flan turrón etc came from Spain.
I had to laugh when you said "I don't even speak Puerto Rican". Nobody speaks Puerto Rican bro. We speak Spanish. Lol had me cracking up bro. But I'm enjoying all of your videos bro. Keep doing your thing!
Sensational video! At about the 4th minute, I had to put the video on hold as it made so so darn hungry. Had a bowl of cereal to tie me over. Puerto Rican food is a combo of Spanish, Sephardic, Moorish, West African, and Native American influences. It is this amalgamation that makes it so special. Am so glad you got a chance to partake of that sumptuous treat. Hopefully, many others will be inspired to try it.
Freddy's and Tony's got it all going with Boriqua food. I'm 68years old been going there since early 20s. I drive from suburban area to get delicious food. 🇵🇷❤
My favorite Freddy and Tony all day better than the one on 2nd Allegheny. Also don't be surprised by our generosity we Puerto Rican people are like that specially the one in the island will treat you like one of they own.
Two kinds if Alcapurria. There is the brownish green banana, and the golden yellow yuca or cassava ( a typical caribean root vegetable ), both deep fried. Everything is good in this place. Don't even mention calories or exercise when you go there. Great review, thanks again for venturing deep in the hood to showcase its gems.
My brother just to clarify something, you had 2 types of alcapurria, the yellowish one the masa is made with yuca and the dark one the masa is made with green plantains, green bananas (gets dark when fried) and "yauitia" (a type of taro root) both delicious!!! I hope you can get sometime down here to Puerto Rico, we got so much great food to offer! Great video keep them coming!!
I love, love they're food. My sister has been going there for many, many years. I love there Pork sandwiches, mashed potatoes stuffed with hamburger and etc. They're very friendly over there. My sister works 1 block from there with the elderly.
My best friend's wife is Dominican also. Every dinner every day it's rice, beans, plantains and strip steak. Good, for but not for every night's meal is why he sneaks over and raids our fridge.
USTEDES LOS DOMINIHAITIS COPIARON LA COCINA DE PUERTO RICO CUANDO VENIAN EN YOLAS APRENDIAN HACER LAS COMIDAS TIPICAS DE PUERTO RICO DESPUES CUANDO LOS REGRESABAN A HT RD. LAS HACIAN SIN DECIR Q ES COMIDA TIPICA PUERTORRIQUEÑA
JL, you are certainly moving up in the Foodie Vloggers World👍 Earlier this month you & Mark Wiens @ Angelo's Pizzaria was super. Today, a very impressive showing of tradional Puerto Rican cooking # Freddy & Tony's! How was the puerco asado compared to Porky's Corner? However my favorite Puerto Rican comfort food restaurant is 188 Cuchufritas in the Bronx, NYC! It very nice that you & Mark got SPECIAL VIP treatment at Angelo's(eating upstairs in the owners lounge) and at Freddy's & Tony's ( Free food & a place to eat in the closed dining room)! Good for you⭐ Keep up the GREAT work, God Bless
You know how many spots I've hit since i bumped into your channel and all places say how much they appreciate it your doing great things for our city bro we all appreciate you keep it going
NOBODY does it like JL Jupiter. Compelling content!! I would LOVE to take him around a couple places in Mercer County---MeatHeadz, Marcello's Pizza Grill, Delorenzo's Tomato Pies, iconic Mercer County spots! Ready when you are, JL!!!
Ingredients is what makes the food, but the cooks help it on it’s way. You can see the love and understanding on who fresh the food is, and flavors of the different plates.that makes the place’s and the people love so much.and it’s good of to take the time out,to make the video and show everyone, what it takes to make a business work.
Badlands is more Kensington then North Philly idk when ppl start claiming Kensington as north Philly back when Kensington was a all Irish neighborhood nobody was saying it was North Philly that’s like saying fish town and port Richmond is North when it’s 100% not 💯💯💯
Video was great! Thank you for letting the world know about Puerto Rican cuisine, best of the best! Brotha, you made us proud. that sauce is (MAYOKETCHO)
Im late to the party but I watched this video at 1am 2 nights ago and instantly went to my spanish spot yesterday. U the new goat of food reviews.🙌🏾 Im watching the soul food one now and i'm damn hungry again!😡
My man not for nothing but I'm jealous of you I was home last weekend and I never had a chance to eat any of my traditional Puerto Rican food and had too many things that I had to do before I got back on the road. I've heard a lot about Freddie and Tony's restaurant and never had the opportunity. I'm very happy that you had the opportunity to explore a small piece of the Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 culture. Around the Christmas holidays through January 6th which is 3kings day that we celebrate more than any holiday throughout the year. You can ask any Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 what is the best holiday to celebrate and they will say Christmas and 3kings day. I'm out here in the state of Washington and I come across your video, in my home town eating my favorite food and Washington doesn't have this type of food........ lol Thank You For Sharing Your Experience With Our Puerto Rican Food. Buen Provecho
I love your vids keep it up skills always on point with the video quality u put a lot of hard work in and we really appreciate it ,can’t wait to see more spots in north Jersey and ny 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Buen Provecho...Nuestra Comida estas Rico...This a regular menu for us...Move around...Move around...expand this channel and explore dishes outside of Philly...That Papa Relleno (stuffed potato) looked good...I prefer an ice cold Malta India...🤗
When I lived in Philly, I used to frequent the Allegheny location. Their food is amazing!!! Yes, it can appear intimidating in the area but that food will make you push through it. LOL!
I've been to PR many times and love the food. Fortunately I live in Orlando now and get lots of places to eat their food here. Pernil is my weakness. The crunchy skin makes it a game changer every time.
I love Freddy and Tony’s another good spot that haves a lot more good Puerto Rican food is old San Juan restaurant in Camden NJ. One aside is take out and Togo and the other side is eat in the line is always hour the door any day of the week
Great video and delicious looking food. I really miss living up North. Puerto Rican food is top notch and nobody does it better than the old school Puerto Ricans in NY and NJ.
My Husband And I Make It Our Business To Get A Big Spanish Dinner Bag From Freddy and Tony's. The Food Is Soo Good! Besides, My Father N Law Was Puerto Rican Full Blooded, And My Husband Is Half And Our Son Is Half Daddys Half, And We All Love To Eat From Freddy and Tony's!
