Take the cat home Sam. The apartment people don't need to know... or it could be the shop cat. Edit: Several years ago my friend & I saved two tiny kittens from a 300z we found at our local junkyard. They were so young they couldn't even go to the bathroom themselves. They went on to live well. I haven't followed up with who received them but they should still be kickin'. I remember the one my friend fostered was named Zee at the time but I don't remember the other one. And fwiw, I had an angel of a cat randomly show up one night while my friend & I were tailgating, looking for meteorites/shooting stars. She just came out of nowhere. After running out of options trying to find the owners I decided to adopt her... come to find out 2 years later she bailed on her family very shortly after they moved into my neighborhood. I met the previous owner of the cat one day when she was jogging. She's mad cool, doesn't mind that the cat is under my care now, only cares that the cat is still alive. She had previously thought it was dead. I think the cat is about 10 years old now according to the vet estimates.
Sam should definitely take the kitten to the shop to live around drift cars and also be taken to every drift event repping the yashio one off cat outfit
These videos always send shivers down my spine knowing that these cars were once owned by young car guys and girls with big plans just to see them here now left to die. Also adopt that cat she's adorable
@@zacariasblanco9738 and that means he doesn't deserve someone to give him a loving home with care and attention? Nope you've just made a pointless comment. I didn't say anything about it not having food etc. I simply said give the cat a loving home that it deserves.
@sammit Ken Maeda was the driver, in the old option vids they would refer to him as Maeken. He drove the OG Up Garage Hachi, the bright yellow one from back in the mid 2000s D1 days. He eventually drove for Race Factory and Grenade. One of my favorite drivers for sure!
Love these videos even though they're hard to watch. The nostalgia is completely lost on these abandoned relics for the people that owned them and the rest of us are forced to "look but don't/can't touch"...
I'd love to see a restoration of the FD and whoever does this I hope the person will take it for a last round across a track where it belonged✌️ It's definitely sad to see all these cars rusting away even when they are crushed like the s15 🥺
Everyone shedding tears over the cars, im over here shedding a tear over the sad cries from that kitty. You should definitely save that kitty, poor thing is so affectionate. PS. Orange car at end is an Izuzi Gemini by the looks.
Man seeing all those cars abandoned really breaks my heart. Id be trying to save as many as I could. Hopefully some day I can open a restomod shop for that purpose
I would love to see you pick up the FD, even if you only store it in a dry place for the time being to later build it back into a drift car (or a street/drift car if registration can be done). Or even a grip car instead of drift 👀Could be a cool save, even if not for now. But damn. It hurts to see all those cool cars just rotting away... Cosmo/FC/FD/RX8/S2000 and all the others :(
Yeah that FD deserves to be saved, such a cool piece of history and its not even in bad shape, hell I would toss in a few grand just to help him store it!
@@eliasspeed5882 why from video the cat dosen't look unhealthy. The cat meowing had nothing to do with it wanting food just wanted attention obviously seeing as it moved on. Its probably their to do a job and that's to keep mice from completely destroying those cars.
Finding such hidden gems in junkyards really catches my eye more than looking at the super cars or hyper cars that most young car enthusiasts would rather see today. I’m young myself and I’m really surprised by how many people don’t know what the “twerkstalion” (AKA Hert’s RX7 FC) is or what the rx7 fc or fd is in general. If there’s anything I would do to that FD rx7 I would take the time to restore it to its original state. I even heard news about the Haruguchi RX7 being restored along with knowing that they got it running. It’s sad to see these cars rot away and to make things worse, how much someone would want for them.
You missed a nice volvo s60 with their second biggest engine, the T5. Good engine for drifting with lots of low end torque. Would be really cool to see someone do that in japan
You should try to get one of those FC's and definitely find out about the Silvia for the door's and strut towers. I love your content and believe in you! You're living the dream
I tried looking into the driver of that FD3S but his wiki page is used by a different Ken Maeda who was apparently a comedian/actor unfortunately. The only thing I found was that he placed 20th in 2005 D1GP at Fuji Speedway
@19:37 That's an Isuzu Gemini!! Yeah, ask me, the canadian Isuzu guy who want to move to Japan!!! What a dream yard!!! There's definitely something to do with most of the cars!!! Obviously I'd save that Isuzu obviously... Otherwise the Cosmo is kinda rare, and the R34....
8:35 that was actually a sti type r. so a 2 door coupe the little brother of the 22b very rare pretty much like the nismo s14 from tommy in the nissan world. the cut out rear quaters alone should be worth a couple grand!
Cars like that were ten a penny back then, leaving them was no big deal, now we wouldn't because there's less of them. There plenty of cool abandoned cars in the UK too and across Europe.
That fd is sick always been a huge fan of them would be awesome to restore it to how it was before it left track but love the content and keep up the awesome content much love your fellow gear head
Maaaaan those Mazdas...FC, FD and also a Cosmo?!!! This is insane! Hope some day i get to lay my hand on one (or possibly more) some day... . You know it hurts a bit seeing all these JDM legends just left rotting away...
Their apartment doesn't allow cats. Good way to violate your lease. At minimum they'd be fined and the cat would go to an animal shelter. Cats are resilient. I'm sure there's plenty of mice around there to keep it's belly full.
Love to see old racecars love to see old mugen civics. I would restore the FD back to it's former glory just to add to the collection of other former race cars
In a heartbeat I would snatch the D1 car and restore it as good as it could be to it's D1 glory days and the S15 for the parts.... Love this videos keep up the awesomeness Sam. CHEERS!
i grew up on that RX-7 FD when i was kid i was looking how he was drifting that rx-7 fd and if i own it i would restore it to that glory if i has mo much money i would fly to japan and rescue this legends old drift cars save them, restore them to there glory days and keep them and never sold them.
The Storia is actually pretty cool It's Storia X4, 71xCC AWD turbo for some japan specific racing class It is developed from get go as a mootorsport homologation vehicle
Gave a like for the cat maybe name him Alto. Also I'm always surprised every time you do videos of these junk yards or auctions I never see z31 fairlady z cars. You should do a trip down to sasebo area some real unique finds when I was stationed there years ago I remember seeing a GMC typhoon in someone's driveway as well as a 64 Impala that was so massive it stuck out into the street from the guy's house lol that one was in a neighboring town of sasebo by an arcade heading towards Nagasaki if I remember.
I think the orange car was an Isuzu, they were the last of the Holden Gemini here in Australia.. That old drift car should be reassembled and displayed somewhere... not restored just cleaned up gently like an historic artifact.. Great video Sam , much respect from Paul in South Australia.
That orange car I believe is a Isuzu Gemini sedan. It was sold here in the US as the Chevrolet/ Geo Spectrum. My mother had one of these in the late 80s - 94 before trading it for a Van. Never would have expected it to be worth tuning.
Great, got fired today and was looking for a nice video to watch and now I see these abandoned cars. Iam nearly crying again But still nice video Keep up the good work
Considering you found the cat in a Suzuki, next to another Suzuki, how about "Suki"? EDIT: As for the orange four door, that is a Isuzu I-Mark. A buddy of mine had one back in high school and my mom had a hatchback version when I was little.
the guy is called ken Maeda and he was a D1GP driver. found an old video of him drifting back in 2006 at Hawaii raceway park before it got shut down. link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SrHUUFmxgt8.html
@SAMMIT the orange little sedan is called an Isuzu Gemini, they usually have a little badge on the side that said (handling by lotus) it's late 80's early 90's car. They had a dual overhead cam and there were some other models that came turbo.
That FD I'd restore it to how it was back when it was competing, and restore the livery on one side, while preserving the aged decals on the other and clear coating them or something. Would love to see old bits of history like this restored and the journey captured on a youtube channel.
Unfortunately, we didn't RU-vid it. But I got the chance to restore an Abflug FD RX7. We restored the paint (without respraying ) and some decals. We actually drove it to Hot Import Nights @ Mohegan Sun in CT. Was a great time!
It's doesn't rain when your sad it rains because your sad. Gems like those will break your heart as a car lover. Definitely snatch the blue one for parts that old racecar needs a full race spec revival livery is pretty damn cool too
I'm begging, literally anyone, in the universe that cares to save that RX-7. I've seen the footage of how that beauty used to drift on the Pro Circuit. I don't care if you're a nobody or someone who's gonna put her in a museum behind glass just save that car from its fate. The worst pain you can experience in this world is the pain of being Forgotten, no one deserves to be forgotten because that is when we truly die. there's a famous quote by George Elliott that explains why I'm asking for this car to be saved "Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them". so if that car dies we'll never know how this happened to her. I believe I know the best name for her, she should be called the Revengeance X-7. Named after the Raiden Metal Gear Solid Spin off where Raiden comes back from near death to right the wrongs inflicted on him and finally have closure in his life. it sounds just like the perfect story for this Drift Legend that was left for dead in a scrapyard and replaced with an RX-8.
I’m not all the way through the video but that cat is now yours Sam! If you can’t keep it at home, keep it at the workshop! I’ve got 4 of the f*ckers! Honestly is a dream right there! Japanese cars and cats…
