Michael spinks is a nice guy. His manager butch lewis was the one who made tyson mad before the fight, he wanted special terms before the fight, look him up, butch lewis never wore a shirt under his coat, he looked funny.
Both Ali & Holmes said the hardest they had ever been hit was by Ernie Shavers. He still has the best Knock out ratio of HW boxers& this with a record of W74 L14 D1 KO 68.
@@adriangrigore228 is it Lennox's fault that he didn't fight Foreman? Evander Holyfield is without a doubt one of the best boxers of all time, but you don't need to overdo it;)
If only he had that hat during the Tyson fight, the course of history would have been totally different. We could have had Russia 1 & 2 instead of Russia & China
Chief Brody Ali said Shavers was the hardest puncher he ever fought. That is saying something if he hits harder then prime Foreman. It's too bad he was a glass cannon though. I want to see Wilder punch that machine Rogan has that measures punching power. N'GANNOU has the record atm.
I think it was a fair question, bc there was a lot of racial BS in the lead up to that fight orchestrated by the media, and Don King, Dennis Rappaport, etc. You'd have had to been there at that time, things were very different. It still lingered when Tommy Morrison was coming up. That said, by this time, the Klitschko had reigned for ever, and I don't think anybody have two s**** about race/color. It's always seemed more of an American heavyweight thing anyway. If you want to see a good show, watch Holmes vs. Cooney Legendary Nights, and/or some other videos on YT of the Holmes - Cooney buildup. It's like a time capsule of boxing and society
Lennox is very smart and insightful. He was right on not picking a winner. Fight ended up in a draw. Props to all the fighters on stage. Jim did great interviewing. He asked great questions and controlled the pace and vibe.
buster was awesome the night he beat mike tyson. he trained himself into a beast for that night, seeing buster standing in the corner moments befor the first bell rang u can see how primed his body was that night. beleave he could have beaten any heavyweight in the world that night. fairy tale nigth for buster, no one was more deserving to win than buster that night.
Buster speaks the most eloquently along with Lenox. Those blows to the heads of many boxers really affects their speech and other things. I happy to see all of these men Alive and able to function
I really really missed Ali & Joe Frazier seeing all these great legends having interviews together at the same time. The great George Foreman should be here too......when Foreman is here Ali & Frazier are spiritually present in him Foreman loves them both. RIP Ali & Frazier.
Interesting how the issue of race is a factor to the US media whereas in the UK it is not really ever mentioned. Black, white, yellow or red, total non issue.
Yeah, but people mix at a younger age in the UK and realize that the great divide is between people who are raised with a sense of entitlement to rule who think they are better than the common folk and the common folk who just get along knowing they don't really live in a democracy but live in an oligarchy. So if you go to Eton and Oxford you mix with posh kids who can have differing amounts of melanin in their skin, but are still posh kids, and if you go to a run down inner city comprehensive school you mix with those kids who can also have differing amounts of melanin in their skin, but are also not posh. America doesn't seem to have the same social class divide, but they do go on about melanin for some reason.
Lennox used to always say good things about AJ until AJs last fight wen he went over to the side of the ring and said how he looked up to Holyfield but didn’t mention Lennox who was sitting next to Holyfield at the time, after that Lennox then started saying shit things about AJ
@@brianbook3797 That would have been a good match, giving Bowe a chance to avenge the 1988 Olympic loss, which could have gone either way had Lewis not dazed him with that punch.
The last great era of heavyweight boxing. Lewis, Tyson and Holyfield. They fought everyone. Lewis never backed down from any fighter and only fighter to avenge his defeats. Tyson the youngest champion, who beat boxers before they entered the ring. Holyfield was a monster in the ring. What an era!
Holyfield has records as well .Holyfield is the only fighter in history to win heavyweight championship 4 times..and the only fighter ever who has been undisputed champion in 2 seperate weights.good to know!
Lewis best Holyfield, schooled the real deal in the first fight. Dodgy draw. 2nd fight Lewis won. As for Klitschko... whether the cards show Lewis was losing or not, Lewis won the fight.
@@carlea81 all valid points, but Holyfield will always be regarded before Lewis just for the simple fact most of the fights he had were rough slugfest. He was a naturally smaller guy fighting naturally bigger fighters. That's not taking anything at all away from Lewis, but when he should have given Vitali a rematch that was deserved he chose the easy way out (not the a cowardly way out though) and chose not to give it to him because he knew Vitali was a legitimate threat to his title. To me that's asterisk next to his name.
@@carlea81ouis was a comparatively lousy boxer who just jabbed and jabbed and jabbed and kept his opponents at a safe distance. He had no balls to play close combats like Tyson and Holyfield. Klitschko beat the hell out of him. He wobbled around the ring by the 5th or 6th round like a rug till Klitschko got TKOed. He just got lucky that he was younger than fighters like Holyfield and Tyson. A rematch with Klitschko will always remain a due.
I love videos like this because these men come from a time where they didn't sit back and talk about themselves all day they were warriors and you can tell from the way they answer the questions not much to say you almost have to twist their arm to get them to talk about themselves a time when men were men and they didn't wear tight-fitting clothing trying to be prettier than the girls I'm glad I'm old enough to have witnessed and been around during the time of all these great champions thanks for all the great memories
No hes not bc he didn't actually give a response to who wins...and that's bc he rarely gets predictions right. He did nothing but give obvious answers to why you could call it a 50/50 which anyone can do. Though if you read between lines he thinks fury was going to win bc Wilder doesn't have any fast win against prepared top level guys., hes just no belief in himself to say it.
@@UncleTermite Actually I was leaning more to other questions besides the predictions (which is also a smart thing to do, not to commit to something you are not sure about), he sounds very intelligent
@Bosman Ragga. it doesnt take intelligence to circle jerk around giving a prediction...that's WHY they are there,to give one ...stating its a 50/50 isn't a prediction, its like someone saying a fight is going to be a draw which seldom happens but theres ALWAYS a clear winner by punch count. The way he argues points and gives views suggest hes not really intelligent ,now hes saying Wilders EXPOSED ? Lewis is a rare head case of a smart /stupid person.
@@UncleTermite Ok man I hear you, but the reason why he's saying he is exposed is just confirming what has already been said about Wilder that he is not a very good boxer just a one dimensional fighter, but it doesn''t mean he had ruled him out for a win hence his 50/50 response without picking a winner
The only people accusing AJ of ducking Wilder are people who haven't involved themselves in the debate. I've seen every Instagram post, every interview, every media bit regarding AJ-Wilder and it's clear as day that Wilder never wanted any part of AJ other than to make himself more famous off of AJ's name. Who has Wilder ever fought in 40 fights? A 50 year old Cuban with high blood pressure who was cycling off steroids is his prize fight and the fight he keeps mentioning to convince people how legit he is. Please! AJ has not ducked anyone. He's fought Brazeale, Whyte, Parker, Povetkin and Klitschko, that's 5 top 10's right there in less than 21 fights! Wilder fought 1 top 10 in 40 fights. How is this even a discussion? AJ offered Wilder 15 times a bigger payday than he has ever seen and somehow people have it in their head that AJ is ducking? So if a "champion" has 40 fights and his biggest pay day is $1.5 million and I come and offer that guy $20 million to fight me, I'm the one ducking him when he refuses? That's just madness. Nobody with any intelligence can justify something that stupid.
Do you think Lennox gets enough respect for what he achieved, for me why I think he a great is the fact after being ko he came back even better, true pugilist
30´ "so who's your pick ?" - Lennox is giving you a much more elaborate answer Mr Interviewer.... answers sometimes come in equation form and not in a simple number.
Actually Holyfield always spoke like that even when he was young, so i have a hard time discerning if its consequences of his boxing career or he has some minor speech problem from childhood
11:40 thru 15:45 .....best moments of the video. Just watching the facial expressions and body language of the MAN who took the TITLE from the most feared Heavyweight Champ Tyson and the MAN who was SUPPOSED to be the FIRST to possibly take it whom eventually DID take it from the MAN who initially TOOK IT. I'm confused now... are you? Either way..... great to SEE the admiration and respect that Holyfield seems to show towards the MAN he beat for the Title Buster Douglas without saying a WORD.
No one else could’ve done what Buster did on that day, It’s absolutely inspiring; He stood up to the big bully of the Heavyweight Division and essentially said to him “Your titles are coming home with me” and despite being a 42-1 underdog, He won out, Showing to the world that no matter how many people rule you out and say that you’ll lose, There always a way to win if you have the willingness to do so; And he did in the Tokyo Dome
Bowe vs Lewis is one that got away (more on Bowe's doing), one i gladly would've paid to watch. Holyfield vs Bowe fights some great nights of boxing. Lennox had their ticket tho, great champion. Douglas with the biggest shock (beating Tyson) in my lifetime, if not ever. What a great watch, so much boxing heart & knowledge up their on stage....a big Thank You to all who made this possible.
Lets get shit straight. AJ is the best HW right now. No BS. Fury and wilder are next. AJ has cleaned his division. He only has 3 fights left. Wilder.Fury and Usyk. I hate bias opinions that makes another fighter look scared. Fighters especially Ledgend of the sport. And know no fighter is afraid of another fighter. Just facts. I am dissapointed. Its like saying Wilder is afraid of fighting dillian whyte. Oh wait he is. AJ right now is the best HW. Resume speaks for itself.
Aj will never be the best until he fights wilder and fury, and I think wilder beats him because aj is to static,I think fury beats wilder styles makes fights
I am not a dillian fan boy. I am a truth seeker. I only look at the facts. And no i am not from the UK. I am just telling facts. Do not get salty that Dillian choose 2 fight a better fighter. Dillian is far from scared. Man u are blinded by your own view of things. And i state again no fighter is afraid except Wider. Its proven that he is ducking fighters.
Man Over The Top he gets more money fighting chisora definitely but problem is not a elite fighter every time he fought world class opponents he got badly beaten and it concerns me that whyte can barely beat him in fact I thought the first fight was a draw,I also think think chisora needs to retire within 2 fights he’s taking to many heavy shots now
Cut to the g'dam Chase: What Gerry says @15:50 mark is gold. He spoke honestly about his substance abuse. The BIGGEST FEAR people have is speaking candid about their personal faults. Step #4-9.
@20:00 I love what Lennox lewis said even though people from over seas don't see it the way he said it. I think this is how he sees it since he said it before in interviews. He's basicly saying Fury stepped up unlike AJ's pussy ass!He said Wilder came to Uk to challenge AJ and he never answered the call! This is why you NOW see AJ calling out wilder. Because legends like Lennox Lewis is talking about it. If they didn't say anything AJ would still be as quiet as a mouse.
@@SpannerzIsHappy multiple reasons this has been discussed on several different channels on RU-vid that I have participated in and it always ends up that Lennox Lewis has a whole lot of fans that don't want to accept the truth but I am a boxing historian and I know the truth
Spinks said if Tyson gonna be here I ain't comin!! 🤣 Feel for Spinks. Had an amazing career but will always only be remembered for the devastating KO delivered to him by Tyson. Damn.
Jim Gray just sold his soul right there. You can't say that Joshua doesn't want to fight when you don't know the facts or being fed the showtime narrative. Poor work.
