I downloaded 30 fan made legends from some contest held in Germany i think. The diffuculty is still there and new inovative things also. You could easily play this game for hundreds of hours and make it feel different every time, so no issue of replayability for me(6 original legends + 30 fan made) P.S. Thats without the expansions included, except maybe 5-6 player mini expansion
One of the best games I have played this year! This is just sooo much fun. Everything looks and feels great, the components are awesome and the artwork gorgeous. The story is interesting and the game is not too easy. You WILL have to replay some of the legends. Regarding replay value: there is a lot of shuffling and random positioning going on, so although you know the story, the game unfolds different every time. Strongly recommend checking it out. Ps: there are free bonus legends on the HP! ;)
Definitely one of the best boardgames I have ever played! We played legends several times without getting bored, quite the reverse! We also have developed our own legends, which is a lot of fun! The game invites you actually to do that^^
Completely agree with the statement about the game being a puzzle. We lost our first scenario because we killed too many monsters, and we were one turn from getting the football to the end zone when the time ran out. That said, I do like the game a lot. But a couple of my friends just did not like the puzzle aspect, making it's replay value in my group suspect. I would really like to see the later scenarios, though. =(
just to clarify the monster doesn't have 2 willpower it has 4 (as indicated by it's image by the number 4) you can chose to gain 2 willpower instead of 2 coins should you defeat it
True, true... Best coop last year. What can you expect? Its only 40 euros...in the U.S. probably cheaper. Where i come from (Greece) coffee is sold for 4 euros. That means that game pays off for a couple after roughly 5 games. 5 built in scenarios and at least 5 more around the internet...Strongly recommended by me....
Mage Knight is a far more complex game. You got a lot of options and you have to think about what you're going to do very thoroughly. Andor is actually a very light game. Rulewise it's far easier to learn and teach then Mage Knight. If you're looking for a character building game Mage Knight would be my recommendation. In Andor the characters are quite static. It's still fun, but more family-oriented.
My OCD is really put to the test when I watch your videos. The beginning when you throw stuff on the table has me grind my teeth, and when you flipped the board around the 7 minute mark I could only shout "What the hell are you doing?!" ;)
You have to admit though, he put the Legend cards down neatly :) And also with the rest of the components it just looks harsh, in reality it is not "damaging" or something. Tom mentioned long ago he is taking care of his components (of course not being anal retentive about it on the other hand, games are just that - games and cardboard).
Hey Tom, love your reviews. Which game would you say gives you more character development - this or Mage Knight? And, which one has better traits and skills to your character?
Can you replace all the plastic things with descent miniatures? (is there one in descent for every monster you face?) (I got any expansion of descent 1 and basic game of descent 2^^)
Woo, first for once! Been looking for a new addition to my solo-able collection. Glad to see this fantastic possibility, provided there is no hidden info required. The scripted elements are a bit of a downer, but if there are enough scenarios in the base game, I would still love to give it a go.
Mage knight is the better choice. But that said it depends on gaming preference. You want an almost rpg feel then mage knight. You want a puzzle with rpg elements then this is the choice to go.
Just as much replay as any other co-op, if not more. Would you say a game like Pandemic has more replay value? Couldn't you think of Pandemic as being just one scenario?
i have too say your dice tower intro is realy awesome! i joust got addicted to andor with my girlfriend and its nice too see that its also popular in the usa greetings rascalord
There is a more thorough review on this channel by.. don't remember his name:-) he explains better the part that you learn more rules going through scenarios. Also, ranger has only 5 dice:P
Looks like a mashup of various other FFG game mechanics. I have a number of issues with this game, like the lack of miniatures, punishing players for monster-hunting, and only a 4 player limit. Think I'll pass on this one.
