A truly great pitcher that was my favorite player at the time and was a great role model by the way he acted on and off the field. Nobody more deserving to be honored in this way. Congrats Bulldog.

Cardinal fan here, Orel Hershiser, was fun to watch pitch in the 1988 World Series. One of my favorite non Cardinals pitchers.

From a Mariners fan, always had a fascination with the way Orel pitched. Tip of the cap to the legend.

He was my childhood hero and is such a class act.

I was at one of the shutout streak games in 1988. Against the Reds. I think it was a 2-0 game. We had some of the best seats we ever had at a Dodger Game. Orel was the man Should of got MVP of the regular season too

I remember a game back in the late 80’s in a game between the Astros and dodgers that went into extra innings, Lasorda left Hershiser in till about the 10th-11th inning.

I will always the world series of 88 oral hershiser was one of the greatest from my growing up days and the year after this in 89 was when the San Francisco earthquake happened during the world series and I was watching it when it happened
