You should read on our history and realize that during the colonial times the Igbos dominated our land and changed most of our names. Trying to identify ourselves as Igbos will completely marginalize us
@@drizzlejolie4506stop lying, igbos don’t do that, why didn’t Yorubas change their names to Igbo, we’ve igala people in anambra state, why didn’t they change their names, igbos are igbos and no one marginalized anyone
All this people talking rubbish 🤣 if you like talk from now till next year. Ikwerre is not and will never be Igbo ikwerre will be ikwerre. Weda we use ur dialect abi we came from Igbo abi Benin na una Sabi, that one na history Now ikwerre is ikwerre if you like fly from here go Afghanistan ikwerre no go change 🤣🤣🤣 Ikwerre anu Meka oh!!!!!
All the great tones reminds me the Imo state broadcasting corporation in the early 90's, there is always a program on Saturday evening called cultural music from Rivers state and ikwerre musicians and Etche dominates that radio programme, Jimmy Cantor of blessed memory, Tufiakwa group, Promoter Eze, Show Promoter etc, enough of this argument of who is Igbo and who is not, Ikwerre reserved the right and Ikwerre can be whoever they chooses to be, as long as I will go to any village markets in Ikwerre land and I will use my Mbano Igbo dialect and everyone will understands me without any stress, so who cares about whos identity,
hahahahah which igbo? languages have similarity everywhere but you have to respect others so you will be respected too, finnish and estonian understands each other when both languages is spoken, same with swedish and danish.... why igbo always find hard to let ikwerre land be without calling it igbo language ? IKWERRE is IKWERRE and IGBO is IGBO...simple !!!
Sometimes I still wonder why some have to foolish and stupid up to dis level God how can ikwerre man said dat he is not igbo dat he is of bini origin when he answered igbo names , do igbo culture and speak igbo sub dialects dis people are goat ooo , if dey don’t want to be igbo who cares who send dem nonsense but dis happen to Igbos In delta thank God dat Anioma people of delta state has come out from fear and popularly de clear and claim their igbo heritage , Anioma people knows dey come from nteje, aguleri and from mbaise IMO state , ikwerre mumus people still de FFF , don’t worry one Dey will still kwerre dem be Igbo .... ikwerre Ndi ara very soon una go kwerre say una b igbo mumu people
I am here to enjoy IKWERRE traditional music (which I have been obsessed with from childhood) and NOT TO GET INVOLVE in the argument of whether Ikwerre is Igbo or not. Igbo-bu-Igbo, biko nu, let Ikwerre be what they wish to be. Stop forcing to be Igbo which they don't think they are (whether rightly or wrongly). BTW, I am from Imo State. My grandfather (who is said to have reincarnated me... lol) was good in "Ubor playing". I actually had one while growing up in Lagos. Sadly, I broke it and haven't been able to replace it. Meanwhile, Show Promoter Eze's classic (Iam sorry Comfo) remains an anthem in my part of Imo State. Ikwere Meka nu! Igbo mma mma nu! Egbe bere, ugo bere ....
Pls people of ikwerre this is high time you declare your true origin your Igbo speaking of ikwerre is a dialect I’m igbo from south east heard all most 90 percent of your dialect
Igbos occupies ikwere and dominated the city. They were oppressed by the Igbos and are greatly influenced by them because they are a minority. Trying to force ikweres to be Igbos is denying us our independence.
@@drizzlejolie4506I believe you’re trying to deceive people, because what’s this propaganda for, to make igbos look bad among their brothers, we’ve igala speaking community in anambra, we didn’t marginalize them, igbo bu Otu, if you like say that we forced our language on them, the truth will come to light when the time comes
Reading all the comments and i’m realizing that there’s a lot of learning and unlearning to do. the ikwerre people migrated from benin and the only reason why our language sounds anything like igbo is because we had to learn one of the three main languages of the country to get basic amenities and because we were closest to the igbos, we learnt theirs. There are words in ikwerre that still have their bini roots.
that bini origin is not true, y are u not bearing bini names and culture, y did u totally forget ur ancestorial language and speak another mans own, u said ikwerre name is akalaka and his younger brother ochichi, all are igbo names, stop decieving urself u not better than ur igbo brothers
when migrants speak diallect instead of central language, it means they met indigenous people on ground that owned the diallect at the time they arrived. diallects are unique and never Shared
Why are you lying? Which history did you read or who told you this? Which benin people migrated from benin ?? All the towns that migrated from benin are still close to benin are all in inside edo state, and all our languages are similar to benin, ikwere is never in the history book of benin so stop lying, ikwere is ibo, even the names of your towns were igbo name before changing it from (umu) to (irumu)
@@chimaobi3747 those people are very confused. Imagine the nonsense that one typed. He typed 'they were forced to take up the igbo language because it was part of the three big languages' very laughable 🤣🤣. I wonder why the Ogonis, Ibibios, Efiks didn't forgo their language and decided to take up the igbo language. Since it was part of the big three 🤔🤔
Rinds Igbo words were borrowed to spice up the guttural Inwhuruhohna speech. Your musicians shy away from either using your tongue or bini in their music. Is that why Duncan Mighty and Mercy Chinwo profusely use Igbo in their music?
